Wireless gaming mice are anathema to esports pros for a reason -- when you're that skilled, even a modest amount of lag can throw you off. Logitech is betting that it can fulfill their dreams, though. It's launching a wireless version of its G Pro mouse that was designed for (and with the help of) competitive gamers. It draws on both Logitech's increasingly familiar Lightspeed tech for near-zero lag and supports PowerPlay wireless charging, but it also touts the company's high-precision 16,000DPI sensor and a 2.8oz weight that makes it easier to flick around in the heat of a tournament.

With the new G Pro headset, Logitech set out to make something that gamers could wear for hours on end, without getting fatigued. It's a fairly straightforward pair of headphones: It only offers stereo sound (no fancy surround option), and it relies on an analog audio connections. Instead of the sports mesh headphone material found on Logitech's other gaming headsets, though, the $90 G Pro sports soft leatherette. The company claims it offers 50 percent more sound isolation than before, but more importantly, the new material simply feels better. (The previous covering made my ears feel a bit itchy after a few Overwatch matches.)

  • LG event in Korea could reveal the G Pro 2 earlier than expected

LG was expected to announce the G Pro 2 at MWC in Barcelona but ZDNET Korea is reckoning that locals might get an early peek. A "knock-knock-knockin' on" invite has it thinking that the LG's new smartphone might be ready over a week ahead of arguably the world's biggest mobile tech show. (Although, that particular Dylan song might not offer the appropriate upbeat message LG is hoping for.) The company has already promised substantial camera upgrades for the new flagship, and going by LG's record on its Pro models -- and those leaked photos -- you can expect it to keep the styling of the original G2 (buttons on the back, dominating screen up front), albeit with a larger display on board. We're hearing that it's a smallish event for Korean media -- expect the full global fanfare when it appears in Spain.

  • LG shrinks losses thanks to strong TV sales, promises new flagship phone next month

LG doubled its profits in the last year -- and it's thanking an apparent boom in HDTV sales, not its mobile wares. From October to December 2013, the company made an operating profit of $220 million (238 billion won), more than doubling the operating profit from its TV range, but saw a net loss for the quarter of $59 million (64 billion won). Meanwhile, mobile (including both smartphones and the company's return to tablets) went from profit maker to loss maker in the space of a year, with an operating loss in Q4 2013 of $40 million (43 billion won). That operating loss has been partly blamed on marketing spending, with LG advertising more aggressively for flagship phones like the LG G2 and the G Flex in the last 12 months. LG's quarterly smartphone unit sales totaled 13.2 million units: more than a 50 percent increase from the same period last year. The company has also announced that it'll have a new G Pro model, the G Pro 2, to add to the flagship lineup in February -- presumably ready for when MWC 2014 kicks off in Barcelona -- although it's not specifying, well, anything about the new smartphone yet. LG also expects 2014 to be the year of OLED (although not flexible ones ), with the nascent screen tech becoming its "main growth driver" in TV and replacing LED sets in the process.

  • LG Optimus G Pro due in 40 more countries this quarter, probably not the UK (updated: definitely not)

Having earned some respect here in the US and on its home turf, the LG Optimus G Pro is about ready to hit stores in Europe, Russia, the Middle East and Latin America. Reasons to be interested? The big, user-replaceable battery is certainly one, while the remarkably good 1080p 5.5-inch IPS LCD display is another -- oh, and don't forget dual-camera video recording either. Unfortunately, the Korean press release makes no specific mention of availability on UK carriers, and LG has been cautious about supporting the country's "immature" LTE scene in the past, so we're not sure if this handset will ever be available to Brits except on import. We've emailed a UK rep to ask if that stance has perhaps changed at all, and to chat about the (currently glorious) weather. Update: There's "no further update from a UK availability perspective", which sounds like a "no." However, it is indeed sunny. Update two: LG's Head of European Marketing, Tim Beere, has confirmed to Engadget that the Optimus G Pro will not appear in the UK. However, "some countries" in Europe, including Spain and Italy, will definitely see the smartphone hit stores. Mat Smith contributed to this report.

  • LG Optimus G Pro for AT&T hands-on (video)

Earlier today, AT&T made the Optimus G Pro official as an exclusive on its network, giving subs an alternative to that other 5.5-inch handset, the Galaxy Note II. To LG and AT&T's credit, the G Pro's remained mostly unchanged in its transition to the US market, retaining the same 1080p HD IPS display, 1.7GHz Snapdragon 600 processor, 2GB RAM, 2.1-megapixel / 13-megapixel rear camera setup and 3,140mAh battery of the Korean-only model. The only major changes to the handset's internals are in its LTE bands, made to now run on AT&T's network, and inbuilt wireless charging. Oh and it still doesn't feature a stylus, but you'll hardly miss it. Fans of the glossy white G Pro we reviewed back in March will be disappointed to know that the AT&T variant will only ship in black -- at the carrier's specific request. That restrictive color choice and the carrier's familiar globe on back thankfully appear to be the only two intrusions AT&T's made to the G Pro. It still evokes a sense of solid craftsmanship, despite the overall use of plastics. And, given that it's just slightly more compact width-wise than the GNote II, the G Pro actually feels better in the hand and doesn't confer a sense of instability or slipperiness so often encountered with Samsung's same-sized smartphone. %Gallery-187332%

  • Bigger LG Optimus G Pro spotted with 5.5-inch 1080p display, headed for Korea?

Remember the LG Optimus G? Then the Optimus G Pro, headed exclusively Japan? Well how about another iteration? Apparently bound for the Korean homelands, this one's still called the Optimus G Pro, but expands to a 5.5-inch 1080p display, as well as getting a battery bump-up to 3,140mAh. According to the leaked spec sheet sent to Phone Arena, this will join a 1.7GHz Snapdragon processor, alongside a healthy 2GB of RAM and a whopping 32GB of storage -- plus microSD expansion. Is LG readying something similar for its global fans? We'll give them a few more weeks to fill us in.
