Things have been quiet regarding Moon Spider Studio's Harold since we last checked it out, but it looks like the platformer / runner mash-up is nearing the finish line. A new trailer, released yesterday, claims a release window of "Fall 2014" for PC. We wouldn't blame you for forgetting what Harold is about over the past 26 months, so here's a refresher: in order for a guardian angel to enter archangel academy, it must first succeed in a competition where it guides a runner through obstacle courses full of pitfalls and traps. In the player's case, you're an angel assigned to help Harold, a protagonist who is somewhat ... athletically-challenged. You'll be able to manipulate objects to help Harold out or hinder his competitors, or even zap the ground with lightning to dish out some much-needed motivation. To see Harold in action, check out the recently-released trailer after the break.

Loris Malek decided to explore unfamiliar territory by founding his own outfit, Moon Spider Studio, following a stint at Eden Games, where he worked on this generation's Alone in the Dark revival. Based out of Miami, Moon Spider has revealed its first project as Harold, a game aimed at "consoles" and PC.Harold is a free-runner with a twist. Every year, the graduating class at the Guardian Angel Institute of Higher Learning (not an official title) competes in a great race. Humans are randomly picked from all over the globe and assigned to each guardian angel, who must help the human navigate all sorts of mortal perils and get to the finish line. The only problem: your guardian angel gets stuck with Harold, a lanky, bespectacled goon who's hardly the ideal physical specimen.%Gallery-162944%

  • Fallout Online hints at The Church of Harold

The new Fallout MMORPG is such a closely guarded secret that we know next to nothing about the game itself. Interplay is wisely putting the uncertainty surrounding the title to effective marketing use, with the latest example being a cryptic "Church of Harold" advertisement that recently surfaced on the company's website. Anxious fans who signed up for the newsletter on the official Fallout site also received the head-scratching digital pamphlet in their inboxes over the weekend. For the uninitiated, Harold is the only character to appear in every Fallout game to date. Scuttlebutt has it that the "Church" may be a faction, a point of interest, or even an in-game religion. We'll keep our eyes peeled for more Fallout goodness -- and be sure to let us know if you run across any more end-of-the-world oddities. [Thanks Jonathan!]
