Not that we haven't seen compact-themed cellphones before, but we'd argue that the Imobile phoneV588 is about as suggestive as it gets. This dual-band GSM "handset" looks more like the next big thing from Cover Girl than your next mobile, with a circular form factor, pop-up lid, a built-in mirror and a design that would've totally worked in Princess Diaries. If you're curious about hard specs, you'll find a 2.6-inch LCD, an integrated MP3 / MP4 player, speakers and USB connectivity. Oh, and your guess is as good as ours on the whole "dialing / texting" aspect. Freshen up your social life for just $119.99.[Via PMP Today]

The folks at "HKC" are back on the scene with the Imobile V413 handset. This Touch-esque KIRF boasts a dual WinMo 6.1 / Android OS -- and we're not entirely sure what this means. Other HKC phones have claimed compatibility with both operating systems, and we must admit that the screenshot does look pretty legit. Compared to the for real Touch, this thing appears to have some pretty OK specs, including: a 2.8-inch touchscreen, GPS, WiFi, a 2 megapixel camera and support for audio and video playback. Well played, Imobile. Your move, HTC. Available for $410, or in lots of 50 for $398 each.

You wouldn't think you'd be able to fit a GSM phone, PDA (with stylus), and regular old "watch" functions into into a "stylish" package like the IMOBILE Flying C1000... but you'd be wrong. Dead wrong. Feast your eyes on the latest and greatest wrist-related marvel out of China -- a tiny phone with a touchscreen, Bluetooth support, 60MB of RAM, a video / audio player, a mini USB jack, and possibly a camera (though it's quite hard to tell from the photos). The watch seems to share at least guts (if not design) with SMS Technology's M500, and of course we've seen phone watches and PMP watches, but never before has it all been pulled together in such an "attractive" package. The C1000 also appears to be both 2G- and 3G-ready, thus allowing you to browse large, image-heavy webpages on the tiniest screen ever made. No word on price and availability, but you can be sure the Engadget staff is doing everything possible to get the team equipped with these.

  • PacificNet iMobile, TiVo bring PVRs to China

We Americans have seen TiVo go just about everywhere, but thanks to a newfound partnership between PacificNet iMobile and TiVo Greater China, the timeshifting icon is headed overseas. Under the deal, PacificNet iMobile will promote and distribute TGC products in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, as well as other major cities in China, and it will reportedly "expand its marketing channel from online sales to user trial activities." Sadly, no details regarding hardware specifications, rollout dates, or pricing were mentioned, but it was noted that "Phase 1" would cover five "major" cities, while we'd expect the more distant regions to get serviced shortly thereafter.

Okay, you have to admit, this is one of the better iPhone fakes. We could definitely see Apple whipping up a rounded metal, Nano-esque candybar with an expansive display, iPod dock connector, square camera lens, and Windows key... er, Windows key? Huh? The split-personality "iMobile" apparently tries to bridge the great PC-Mac divide by proudly wearing both Windows and Apple logos on its keypad -- something we can't picture happening on a legitimate Apple product in our lifetimes or those of our offspring. No bother, though; it really does look like a decent phone in its own right. If only it hadn't tried to go all "think different" on us, we wouldn't have felt the need file it in the same dubious category as this winner.
