Klei Entertainment has been putting out quality indie games like Don't Starve, Mark of the Ninja and Incognita for many years now. The developer has a reputation for solid, well-made titles with distinctive art styles and more than a little dark humor. It's great news, then, to hear about the team's latest project: Griftlands, a sci-fi-flavored RPG coming to Steam in late 2017/early 2018.

Although a trailer showing a pitch black screen may have been more apt considering its title, Klei Entertainment opted to show off the stylish gameplay of Invisible Inc. instead. Way to break immersion, folks! Check out the trailer after the break. Invisible Inc. (formerly known as Incognita) is a procedurally generated, turn-based stealth adventure. Though the game has been in Alpha testing for months, the next game from the Don't Starve dev is hitting Steam Early Access on August 19. While in early access Invisible Inc. will be available for $15, a $5 discount from its expected launch price.

Klei Entertainment's turn-based espionage game Invisible, Inc remains in alpha testing, but to whet players' appetites, the developer has cobbled together the above trailer to demonstrate the additions found in the game's latest update. Highlights of the update include a new 360-degree field of vision for agents, stronger guards and the addition of "augments." These special upgrades enhance an agent's abilities beyond normal human levels, but each occupies a permanent space in a player's augment cache, forcing tough decisions about which skills are most crucial for a virtual spy. On the other hand, this update also adds a tutorial to Invisible, Inc, which should make the spy game a bit less confusing. Full details on the update can be found on the Klei forums. Or, if you're totally sold on Invisible, Inc, you can join the game's ongoing alpha test by forking over $20. For that money, you'll be granted alpha access, the game's soundtrack and two copies of the final version of Invisible, Inc. [Image: Klei Entertainment]

The agent formerly known as Incognita, the upcoming espio-sim from Mark of the Ninja and Don't Starve studio Klei Entertainment, is now Invisible Inc. Klei marked the change by re-releasing a trailer showcasing the game's 2.5D world and turn-based tactics. "After some focus testing, Invisible, Inc. was better received than the old 'Incognita,'" said Klei's Jason Dreger on the studio's forums. "Our focus of the design does not change in that it will still be a game of turn based tactical espionage." Klei announced what's now Invisible Inc. last summer before releasing a playable alpha in September, which players can access now via a $17 pre-order. The full game is covert for now, but remains due to slip into our lives later this year.

Klei Entertainment, developers of Don't Starve and Mark of the Ninja, have made their latest game, Incognita, available to purchase in its "Alpha" state directly. The turn-based espionage game "is currently in alpha, which means that we are still in the early stages of development," the company wrote on the game's site. "At this time, we have the core mechanic of turn-based espionage, but the major features and content of the game are still being implemented." The game is available for $17 ($19 with soundtrack). Pre-ordering will grant access to all future alpha and beta builds, as well as the final game. If you aren't into playing I Spy with bugs, the final version of the game will be available in 2014.

Mark of the Ninja and Don't Starve dev Klei Entertainment will uncloak its next game today in a 30-minute live stream, which you can watch in this very post. Klei has revealed little about Incognita beyond a name and it being a "turn-based tactical espionage" affair. Today represents a real first look at the game, or at least an early prototype build of it. Klei also says it'll answer in-chat questions during the stream, so all in all, Incognita should be a lot less incognito after today. The stream is scheduled to start today at 11AM PT (2PM ET, 7PM Brit-time).

Klei Entertainment, which has been getting some solid attention for Don't Starve and Mark of the Ninja, has just announced Incognita, a "turn-based tactical espionage" game. Beyond a name and a genre declaration, there isn't much on Incognita at the moment. However, if you click on the bottom right of its splash page, it does take agents to another page for deciphering. Klei has a forum post up so folks can "speculate, discuss and communicate with [Klei]." So, this is a game in deep cover? Gotcha.
