Facebook's Messenger might return to the main app, letting you access your social media feeds and messages in one spot, according to testing spotted by researcher Jane Manchun Wong. The Messenger app icon would remain, but instead of launching a standalone app, it would open Facebook and take you directly to a section called "Chats." That's roughly how it used to work before Facebook released Messenger as a standalone app in 2011 and removed it completely from the main app in 2014.

Do you have songs on your phone that are virtually impossible to find on your preferred streaming service? You might not have to play them in a separate app for much longer. Jane Manchun Wong (who's well known for spotting experimental features) has reported that Spotify is testing a feature that would let Android users import their phone's local music into its app. You could listen to that elusive indie album or unofficial remix alongside the latest streaming hits.

Twitter is reportedly testing a secret, encrypted messaging option that would enable its platform to go up against Signal, Telegram or WhatsApp. TechCrunch is citing developer Jane Manchun Wong, who found the feature after diving through Twitter's Android app. Twitter wouldn't give the site an official response, but if parts of the system have made their way into the app, clearly testing is at an advanced stage.
