Being a team composed of ex-media, the PlayStation Blog dudes have been sorely missing a podcast for some time, leaving Major Nelson to eat their lunch. Last month, however, PlayStation US social media guys Sid Shuman, Jeff Rubenstein, and Rey Gutierrez teamed up with product evaluator (and known swell guy) Nick Suttner to create the "Official PlayStation Blogcast." Beyond rapping about games, the guys do the occasional interview, highlight especially interesting PlayStation content (the incredible XMB theme above, for instance), and this week they're kicking off their "Origin stories" series on the game industry. The guys also have an insider eye into the goings on behind some of PlayStation's neatest stuff, so it behooves you to give them a shot.

  • 'Most' PlayStation Move demos coming to PSN after launch

It seems the various game demos contained in the $100 PlayStation Move Starter Bundle will arrive on PSN at a later date. "Most of the demos will be up after launch," noted Sony product manager Ami Sheth in the comments section of a recent Move unboxing vid post on PlayStation Blog. "Stay tuned for PlayStation store updates." The Starter Bundle disc pack-in supposedly contains 11 demos, and Sony social media manager Jeff Rubenstein calls it "probably the best demo disc that's ever been included with any console." He also promises there'll be a video showing off that disc in the near future. We've requested a list of the demos on the disc, but for now we're eagerly anticipating what will probably be the best video showing off a demo disc ever to ship with any peripheral's marketing campaign. We should also note that an Amazon UK listing for a similar "Move Starter Pack" indicates there are just nine demos on its included disc (which are "subject to change"), ranging from Start the Party! to Hustle Kings. Bizarrely, the product description also suggests that the Echochrome 2 and Beat Sketchers demos on the disc do not feature Move support. Update: As commenters have pointed out, the UK bundle contains nine demos that will all be available on PSN at launch (detailed by the EU PlayStation blog), which we've listed after the break.

  • Nolan North discusses being the voice of Nathan Drake

Nolan North may be a posterboy for video game voice acting but, as you'll hear in his interview with the PS Blog's Jeff Rubenstein after the break, working on the Uncharted games is his favorite job so far. He describes what makes voicing these games so different from others -- but that's not all he discusses. There's almost eleven minutes of pure Nolan North interview to watch here, including a visit from a few of his Uncharted 2 voicing buddies. As for the burning question of who would be best to play Nathan in an Uncharted movie, we're surprised no-one mentioned the obvious answer. Nathan Fillion, duh.

  • Happy belated 2nd Birthday to PlayStation Blog

Oops, we totally neglected to mention that yesterday was the 2nd birthday of Sony's PlayStation Blog. It's worth noting because of how the site has grown up under the leadership of Social Media Manager Jeff Rubenstein and the nameless/faceless behind-the-scenes folks at Sony's US PR operations. Since its inception, the site has helped humanize Sony's messaging and worked well in creating a better community among Sony's devotees. The US PlayStation.Blog is working so well, in fact, that it's clearly the template for the recently launched European PlayStation Blog (which thankfully put two bullets in the back of Three Speech's head). So, congrats to the US PlayStation Blog team! May they have many more years of blending the line between corporate mouthpiece and community site. [Image]

Sony has confirmed that "just about" every PSP game releasing after October 1 -- the release date of the PSPgo -- would be available for download. PlayStation Blog's Jeff Rubenstein stated on Sunday (via Destructoid) that he couldn't speak about the availability of third party titles at that time.We followed up with Rubenstein today and he told us, "The majority of back catalog PSP games will be made available for download around the launch of the PSPgo." We made sure to ask if he was speaking strictly about first-party titles and he told us he meant "the majority overall."So, as of October 1: A "majority" of past PSP titles will be available for download. After October 1: All first party titles will release as downloads on the PlayStation Network.%Gallery-64545%

PSN Cards are now at Blockbuster stores. Don't believe us? Watch the above video and check out the PlayStation Blog's Jeff Rubenstein as he confidently strides across the store and proves to you that they exist. Testosterrific! They're available in both $20 and $50 flavors and should be in stores nationwide. Hmmm, isn't WipEout HD around $20? How convenient! And it's coming out so soon, too ... So now you don't need a credit card to grab stuff from the PSN Store. You Europeans can stop complaining about Entropay not working anymore, too -- you should be able to buy PSN Card codes far more easily now they're so readily available.[Thanks to everyone who sent this in]

Otherwise, you should have a look anyway and check out the Hot Shots 2 tournament, the winner of which won a Metal Gear Solid 4 Gunmetal PS3 (and a dirty look from Jeff). %Gallery-27931%

In the picture above you can see the winner of the Hot Shots Golf Open Tee 2 competition at the event, which netted him a Metal Gear Solid 4 Gunmetal Grey PS3. You can also see Jeff Rubenstein, of the PlayStation Blog, but what's he saying? You tell us! There's no prize for this "competition." Just post as many comments below with your hilarious captions for this image above for a chance to win our ultimate love and respect.
