Arcade fan (and genius) Le Chuck got up one morning and thought "Why not build a perfect replica of Atari's Star Wars Arcade, at 1:6 scale?" The result is this amazing 12-inch cabinet with a fully working Atari-yoke, handmade from aluminum and a pair of potentiometers. Tucked inside the box is a modded Caanoo running MAME4all, which has been tweaked to boot straight into the game when activated. The whole project took him over 80 hours to put together, but we think it was time very well spent. If you want to see the thing in action (and sing along to the 8-bit version of the theme) then head on past the break.

Welcome back to The Queue, WoW.com's daily Q&A column where the WoW.com team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Alex Ziebart will be your host today.I'm going to kick this edition of The Queue off with a little request: Before you ask a Cataclysm question, ask yourself if it's something WoW.com will actually know about. We don't have the game in front of us (yet) so we probably can't tell you what gear has which stats or what quests have been removed or updated. We can certainly guess if you want us to, but right now we can't do much better than that.Fedwick asked... "Is there any word as far as who will be doing the Character Intro narration with the passing of Tony Jay?"

  • Rumarrrr: Monkey Island 5 in the works at LucasArrrrts

With pirates being de rigeur in the entertainment industry these days, it only seems right that the reinvigorated LucasArts would dig up their backyard and consider rescuscitating the venerable (and hysterical) Monkey Island series for a whole new generation of swashbuckling scallywags. And they are, if you believe the Rumor Reporter who, uh, reports that "the fifth Monkey Island is coming." According to his top secret sources -- "some of the guys who worked on the music compositions for the original PC classics" -- the title is being considered, but don't expect to see any piratey action until 2008 "at the earliest." Sound fishy? Yeah, we thought so too, so why not try to rinse that taste out of your mouth with these delicious Steve Purcell drawings of a suspiciously familiar dead pirate guy? Purcell is quick to point out that these images (more at World of Monkey Island) are "in no way connected to any existing or canceled piratey project." Aye, we'll see about that in ought-eight.
