Somehow, Square Enix seems to have been convinced to actually release its old games on PSOne Classics. Last week's Parasite Eve is being followed with another gem out of the company's back catalog this week: Legend of Mana. The sidequest-heavy, somewhat open-ended Legend, which allows players to use "Artifacts" to create and then explore in-game areas, may not have been as well-received as the SNES's Secret of Mana, but it's certainly not a bad game either. And it's much better suited for PSOne Classics release anyway, since it was a PlayStation game.

The RPG-loving gamers of Japan spoke up back in April about which of Square's catalog of titles they'd like to see on the PSOne Classics storefront. It seems a victor has been crowned: According to a Tweet from Shinji Hashimoto, the next Square Enix title bound for the service is Legend of Mana, due out next week on the Japanese PSN for 600 yen ($6.50). We've got high hopes that the beautifully illustrated Mana will come stateside, but seeing as how we're still waiting on the PSN localization of Brave Fencer Musashi, Einhander, Bushido Blade, Bushido Blade 2, Vagrant Story, Chocobo Racing, Final Fantasy I and II, all the Front Mission games, SaGa Frontier, Threads of Fate and Xenogears -- well, you get the picture.

Expect #SEM_DL to become a trending topic in Japan. Why? Square Enix is asking Japanese fans to submit their top three most wanted PSone classics on Twitter using the aforementioned hashtag. While Japan has a larger selection of classic titles on PSN already, there are some notable omissions. Fans (like the one above) have pointed out Chrono Cross, Dragon Quest VII, and Legend of Mana as some of their most desired games. We're certain fans in America and Europe would love to take part in a survey like this. Until Square Enix decides to gauge our interest, why not submit your ideas to our comments section?
