Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes continues its campaign to occupy every single platform, with the release of an iOS version. That joins the existing PC, Mac, PS3, Vita, 3DS, DS, Wii, Wii U, and Xbox 360 versions in a sort of Justice League of near-identical games. The iOS release costs $4.99 and includes two different control schemes, which means there's a slightly better chance you might find one that's workable, though we're always skeptical of console-to-iOS ports.

Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes is coming to the Wii U, bringing its frivolous mix of caped crusaders and block building to the Nintendo console worldwide this spring. Publisher Warner Bros. Interactive announced the news today, revealing the Wii U version will support off-TV mode in both single-player and co-op, although players can employ the GamePad to access an "enhanced" map and touch-based character selection. The news also completes the game's console collection, having already released for DS, 3DS, Vita, PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii, as well as PC and Mac. So when the PS4 comes around, we'll know what to expect, hmm? Or not... we don't know, really.Warner Bros. also revealed the superhero sequel is up to 3.4 million copies sold worldwide, which, while impressive, is a fair ways behind the 11 million the original Lego Batman sold.

Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes has held the top spot on Chart-Track's UK sales chart for five consecutive weeks, the first game this year to maintain that pace. Batman: Arkham City also swooped back into the top ten at the seven spot, likely boosted by The Dark Knight Rises film.Despite a price drop to Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, which helped boost sales 40 percent, it held third behind London 2012: The Official Video Game. Speaking of the upcoming Olympics boosting sales, Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games (in 8th) also saw a 13 percent increase.Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance was the only new entry in the top 40. According to Chart-Track, it is the second biggest 3DS launch this year behind Resident Evil: Revelations. See the UK top ten in 3D after the break*.*Quality of 3D may vary... or not exist at all.

Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes "comfortably" kept The Amazing Spider-Man away from the highest spot on Chart-Track's UK sales chart. There were three new entries in the top five last week: the web-slinger swung into second, and Spec Ops: The Line and London 2012: The Official Video Game (about... London??) landed in third and fourth place, respectively. The launch of Skyrim's Dawnguard DLC helped propel sales of the game up 121 percent. The launch of Metal Gear Solid HD Collection on PS Vita had a similar impact, shooting the game into tenth place on the charts and sales of the game up 532 percent - making it the top selling Vita game last week "by a large margin."

It was a quiet week on the UK top ten as Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes served justice at the top spot. The Dark Knight and pals' game is the latest chart-topper from Traveller's Tales' Lego series, with this latest title besting the first Lego Batman from 2008, which premiered in second place. The rest of the top ten is the usual rogues' gallery, with a couple exceptions like Skyrim, which flew up from spot 23 to grab number eight. FIFA Street also re-entered the top ten, climbing from 13 to storm the last spot.Civilization 5: Gods and Kings held court at No. 16 for its debut. We present the UK top ten after the break.

There are so many games out there we couldn't possibly review them all. Welcome to Snapshot, where we highlight games that might fall outside our usual coverage but are still something we think you should know about. Today: LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes for Xbox 360, PS3, Wii and PC. I have a real soft spot for Travellers Tales' LEGO games. They certainly aren't the pinnacle of innovation, and they're not exactly on the bleeding edge of video game technology. Quite the contrary, they are simple and unembellished, using familiar mechanics and tried-and-true concepts. And, of course, LEGO titles all charm with their lampooning of whatever series they're based on, be it Star Wars, Harry Potter or Batman. In other words, Lego games might not be groundbreaking, but they're generally reliable. In that respect, LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes seems no different, though it adds a wrinkle or two.%Gallery-157391%

We know, we know... another Lego game based on a popular franchise? But Lego Batman 2: DC Super Hereoes is looking to be different, featuring an open world and the borderline blasphemy of talking Lego characters. Also, we'd be lying if we said that the exchange between Batman and Superman in this trailer didn't make us smirk.

Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes has more heroes than usual -- going beyond the Bat-family into the wider DC Universe. You can see Superman looking totally oblivious alongside the appropriately gruff Dynamic Duo in the gallery below.Lego Batman 2 also has real human voices speaking the English language, something you don't expect from a Lego game! In fact, the first human voice we hear is that of Clancy Brown, who provides the menacingly deep voice of Lex Luthor for Superman: The Animated Series and other DC Comics animation.%Gallery-150793%

After being outed by Lego's own advertising team in a series of toys, Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes is officially on its way to pretty much every gaming device out there, starting in summer 2012. Beyond the platform ubiquity, WB unveiled the game's main cast, which has Superman, Green Lantern, and Wonder Woman joining forces with Gotham's famous bat and bird. We're also told "notorious villains" like Lex Luthor and Joker will be a part of the game, providing a good serving of antagonism for the super hero quintet. Batman series staples such as the Batmobile and Batwing will also make appearances, albeit in Lego form. Developer TT Games is once again at the helm, no doubt infusing its silly sense of humor into Batman's typically grim career.

If Batman: Arkham City didn't exactly float your boat due to the fact that its cast of characters wasn't made of interconnecting bricks, then you're a crazy person. Don't worry, though! Warner Bros. Interactive announced plans to tend to your dark desires in October, and today, the details of those plans appear to have solidified. According to artwork which has begun appearing in select Lego sets, the company is currently working on Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes. No information regarding the game's release window are outed in the ad, but the inclusion of heroes Wonder Woman and Superman -- seen in this ad, via MCV -- seem like a lock. We just hope Aquaman makes it in, so we'll have someone we can force our least favorite friends to play as.No, you know what? Too mean.[Image credit: BrickTuts]
