Can't wait to buy Lexaloffle's Voxatron? You don't have to! In fact, you don't even have to wait until the game's finished to buy it. The latest "Humble Indie Bundle" is called the Humble Voxatron Debut, and it's just that -- an alpha version of the voxel shooter, with a built-in level editor and access to all future updates. Voxatron will cost $15 upon release, but if you get it through the bundle, it'll cost whatever you want to pay. Like all Humble games, it's Mac, Linux, and PC compatible, and proceeds go to the EFF and Child's Play in whatever proportion you want.

Did you like the look of 3D Dot Game Heroes, but wish it was applied to a different kind of old-school game? Lexaloffle Games' Voxatron is an arena shooter, sort of like Smash TV or (obviously) Robotron 2084, made entirely out of voxels, three-dimensional blocks -- including the score display! In the trailer after the break, you can see that most of the voxel structures can be blasted into cubic chunks, bouncing around the stage. "I'm unsure how major the implications of destructibility will be for gameplay," Lexaloffle's Joseph White said in the blog post announcing Voxatron, "but it sure is fun to blast away pieces of wall. I've also added an experimental wall-building pickup you can use to construct barriers to hide from scary monsters." Voxatron will be out this fall on PC, Mac and something else (the trailer just says "PC/Mac/+"). Voxel music man is ready. Are you? [Thanks, Sam]
