The It came from the Blog family of guilds is having another scavenger hunt this Friday night. There will be the normal amount of the running around and acquiring mostly useless items -- and fun, lots of fun. We'll also be throwing a pre-event party with some WoW Insider staff available to chat. When: Friday, July 27 at 10:30 p.m. EDT (7:30 p.m. PDT, 8:30 p.m. server time) for the pre-event party and 11 p.m. EDT (8 p.m. PDT, 9 p.m. server time) for the Scavenger Hunt Where: The fountain at the Court of the Sun in Silvermoon City on Zangarmarsh (US-PvE-H) Who: Any level Horde character is invited to join us, but in order to complete the hunt, you should be mounted. There will be no flying, but those who are mounted and can defeat the wildlife easily will have a distinct advantage. The winners of the scavenger hunt will have prizes to choose from as usual, including loot codes from Cryptozoic. The rest of the prizes will be announced the day of the event, along with how much gold and bag space you'll need. Gold will be provided as necessary. WoW fan fiction contest at Movellas
Online writing community Movellas is holding a World of Warcraft fan fiction contest. Movellas is accepting stories on a wide variety of WoW-related topics such as Thrall, your character, Thrall meeting your character, and so on. The prize list for first through eighth place includes many items from Steelseries as well as some loot codes. The people at Movellas will not be reading every entry. Instead, the stories go up on the site for the readers to vote on, and then the winners will be chosen from the most popular submissions. If you want to enter, you only have until this Friday, July 6. Write quickly, as stories are already being evaluated by the readers. WoW Trading Card Game fans are about to get really excited, as Cryptozoic has just released details on the third installment of the Worldbreaker set, Twilight of the Dragons. From the details released, this set will be Deathwing's break into Azeroth, releasing the Twilight dragonflight upon us all. Does Mr. Soulscar have really, really cool sideburns or is that part of his hat? If you were in Razor Hill with <It came from the Blog> right now, you'd be able to determine for yourself. Actually, you'd be off getting a head start on the Photo Safari contest. We will be giving away five Tiny and five Slashdance loot cards, courtesy of WoWTCGloot.com, for the best screenshots submitted before 12:01 a.m. PDT Wednesday. We will give one loot card per winning entry on the Photo Safari target list. We are also accepting submissions for an honorable mention part of the safari. If you take photos of other landmarks located in the zones on the list and they follow the rules for the contest, we will choose the best of those to put in our galleries and will mention you in the contest results post. Maintenance day loot from WoW.com
WoW.com is giving more loot cards away today, thanks to an extremely generous donation from WoWTCGLoot.com. Why? Because it's maintenance day and because we feel like it! Today you have a chance to get your hands on one of five different codes: one of two Slashdance codes, one of two Tiny codes (these are horses for the Alliance and raptors like the one pictured above for the Horde), or one Path of Cenarius code. All you need to do is leave a comment on this post. Make sure you comment using an email address you check frequently, as that's how we'll be contacting our winners. Plushie Photo Contest: Show us your plushies
So you hopped into the Blizzard Store and ordered yourself a plushie or two. Or maybe you picked up one from BlizzCon. Regardless, there you are, with at least one official Blizzard stuffed toy. Whether you collect them for yourself or have a child for whom you say that you bought them, you have one or more in your home... but now what? Does he sit on your desk? Does he sit on your lap? Is he used to recreate famous in-game battles? And the most important question of all: have you taken pictures of it? We here at WoW.com want to see your best plushie photos. There will be two categories: Plushies in The Wild and Plushies in Captivity. We will narrow down the best of both categories and offer them up to the readers for voting.
