Mists of Pandaria Digital Deluxe disappearing soon
Blizzard is taking a page from Disney with this one: in "approximately one week" the Digital Deluxe edition of Mists of Pandaria will be sent to the Blizzard Archive. Meaning: Unable to be acquired for an undetermined amount of time. If you don't have the Imperial Quilen mount or the Lucky Quilen Cub pet but were considering picking them up, upgrade your account before it's too late. Much like your favorite Disney film, the Mists Digital Deluxe might return one day, but who knows when. Personally, I'm curious why the Digital Deluxe is going away at all. Digital items have no real scarcity beyond the artificial. It's possible we'll see Mists of Pandaria become a part of a Warlords of Draenor battle chest, rendering a digital deluxe of anything prior to Warlords a complication. When the Digital Deluxe returns, we might see it in the form of buying the included digital items individually rather than as a package. That's only speculation, however. 3 pleasant patch 5.0.4 login surprises
When I logged in to the servers this morning, I was greeted by three very pleasant surprises! The first thing I noticed was that hardly any of my addons were broken, and I seem to have successfully anticipated those that were, avoiding the usual patch palaver of updating and deleting and fixing. Then I realized I had mail, headed over to the mailbox, and got my second surprise. Waiting for me were my two Digital Collector's Edition rewards, my Lucky Quilen Cub pet and my Imperial Quilen mount! I also got two Collectors Edition achievements just for taking the two items out of my mailbox. My only frustration arose when I headed to another character, received the same mail with the mount and pet, put them in my bag and received an error message telling me that they couldn't be learnt as I already know them. I hope this doesn't happen with every new character, as having to delete all the default account-wide pet mail could become a tad tiresome. My third surprise came when I logged over to another character and realized there was a button at the bottom of my character list indicating that I could create another character. Confused, I quickly counted up the characters I already had on that server and confirmed that I did already have 10. Therefore, the 11th character slot has been added with 5.0.4! All of these surprises have brightened up my day -- and hopefully yours, too. Have you noticed any surprises in 5.0.4? Mists of Pandaria Digital Deluxe edition includes both pet and mount
Since people have been asking, yes, you get both the pet and the mount when you upgrade to the Digital Deluxe edition of Mists of Pandaria. Nethaera was kind enough to take to Twitter to personally clear this all up for us. Emboldened by this, I immediately went and upgraded to the Digital Deluxe edition because I've always wanted a collector's edition, but they tend to sell those in stores -- and well, those are full of people. Being the hermit of the information age that I am, I applaud the availability of a deluxe edition in this manner. So how about you? Going to keep your midnight tradition going and visit a physical retailer to mingle with the crowd? Mists of Pandaria Collector's Edition rewards revealed
Around mid-June, data files from the Mists of Pandaria beta revealed that the Collector's Edition of the expansion would come packaged with both a quilen pet and a quilen mount. While we knew what we were receiving, we hadn't seen their models yet -- and today, Blizzard has changed that. Screenshots of each of them have been released on the Warcraft Facebook page. Before you get too excited and lay down your money for a Collector's Edition based purely on these images, do note that because the game is still in beta, anything can change at any time. Only the artwork of the mount and pet have been confirmed through official channels. All other details about these rewards come from datamined sources.
