Shenmue 3 is sort of becoming a possibility again, just in time to make sure that wound will never, ever heal. During the MAGS (Monaco Anime Game Show) over the weekend, Sega legend Yu Suzuki told journalist Sebastien-Abdelhamid that he is considering Kickstarter-style crowdfunding for the long-lost project. With the budget for the first two games somewhere in the $70 million area, that could be one ambitious Kickstarter.Suzuki also said (more realistically) that he wants to continue the Shenmue storyline in an anime or manga. In either case, he'd need to obtain rights to his own license from Sega, something he has discussed in the past. The odd racing game cameo aside, Sega's not doing anything with it.

After last week's foray into the colorful world of Phantasy Star Online, I knew I had to step it up for a great follow-through. That's why I got in touch with three excellent MMO bloggers who have long histories with PSO and were more than eager to share their perspective on this unique game world! The Game Archaeologist: Who the heck are you and how did you first get into Phantasy Star Online? What class and race did you play? David: I'm David Lambert, but many people know me better as Branick, host and producer of the LOTRO Academy podcast. I first got into Phantasy Star Online with the original Dreamcast release, which I picked up only about two weeks after it came out. I actually had eight different characters (I bought six VMUs in addition to the two I already had specifically for this purpose), but I definitely favored the HUcast. I wasn't big on using techniques, and the HUcast had the highest attack power in the game.

Do you read video game magazines? Come on, you can be honest. Just because we try to provide you with all the online gaming news and views you need doesn't mean we don't expect you to occasionally feel the urge to read something printed on glossy paper. We won't get mad. Honest. Why aren't you answering us? YOU THINK WE'RE FAT DON'T YOU!Oh, we don't know why we're even worried. After all, we were just reading in today's New York Times how magazines are having a real tough time attracting readers, what with their outdated news and limited space. Sure they'll try to lure you in with special issues and in-depth features, but your attention span is so short that you probably won't bother reading them, no matter how much you say you want them. You'll just tune them out like ... hey, are you even still reading this? WHY DO YOU NEVER LISTEN TO US? *SOB*

Hot on the heels of Gruul's hotfix, Magtheridon has been adjusted (read: nerfed) as well:The Magtheridon encounter has been rebalanced to be somewhat easier and should now better keep to proper raid progression.Reprorts have it that although Mags himself hits harder now, the adds have less HP (120k less, according to one poster). Magtheridon was significantly harder than Gruul, who he was in theory meant to be on par with; hopefully this, as well as the Grull fixes, help make beginning BC raiding a little easier. I mean, I'm all for having to work for your epics, but I think most of you will agree that the beginning of the new endgame was a little too much like a brick wall. I'm pretty far from fighting Mags myself. Apparently he has five adds, who as in most add-based fights represent a significant part of the difficulty of the encounter, so nerfing them should go a long ways. However, based on the run-down over at BossKillers, it still looks like a pretty involved fight. Come to think of it, doesn't Kel'idan the Breaker, who is positioned directly above Magtheridon in the Blood Furnace, have five adds himself? That fight's a cakewalk, of course, but the parallelism is interesting.
