And you thought Todd McFarlane was so innocent, so pure only choosing to make Halo 3 action figures out of the kindness of his heart. Well, we'd hate to say "we told you so", but we did, because Mr. McFarlane is releasing yet ANOTHER Halo 3 figure this May available exclusively from his website. Newly announced today is a brand new Halo 3 Spartan figure featuring EVA armor and active camo (ooo ahh!) This clear figure will only be available through Spawn.com pre-orders and we're led to believe that if you don't grab a pre-order by December 12th, you'll miss out on a chance to own this limited figure. You can see what the new active camo looks like in the gallery below, check out the complete details here and get your pre-order over here. An exclusive McFarlane money making Spartan figure ... we told you so.%Gallery-7108%[Thanks, TMD]

Expanding on their series of Halo 3 dolls, McFarlane toys started pre-orders today on the Halo 3 Active Camouflage Spartan figure. The action figure is modeled after the EVA Armor and will not be sold in stores. Pre-order registration begins today and runs through Dec. 12, the figure will be available in May '08.McFarlane also produced a set of Halo 3 controllers and a slew of other Halo figures. Wonder if McFarlane will come out with a Halo camouflage controller, which would consist of two clear pieces of plastic as the controller's body? Easy money.[Thanks TMD]

Continuing his iron grip on the Halo 3 action figure market, Toddy McFarlane (we call him Toddy, because we're tight) announced a new GameStop exclusive Steel CQB Spartan action figure. The Steel CQB figure (viewable in the gallery below) will be released alongside Series 1 sometime March 2008 and like we said, it'll only be available at GameStop stores.Another factoid we found interesting was that the figure will come with removable shoulder pads, chest plate and helmet all of which will be interchangeable with other Halo 3 figures. It's an interesting concept and something we haven't heard about, but we know we'll be buying all the variants to build a figure to look like our multiplayer Spartan. Kind of like a Build-A-Spartan Workshop ... or not.%Gallery-7108%[Thanks, TMD]

Good old Toddy McFarlane and his entrepreneurial spirit, always taking ideas to the next level and always willing to saturate a retail channel. It's something we value in a person more than good will or kindness. And his ambitious nature is spreading into the previously announced Halo 3 figures he's creating, because we're getting lots of 'em.According to official product launch dates over at Spawn.com, the McFarlane Halo 3 figures we've all known about will launch sometime in March 2008, but there will be other series' coming later in the year. Series two is scheduled to land at retail a few months later in June 2008 including such highlights as ODST, Drone, Mongoose and Wraith figures. Series three is planned for an August 2008 release and includes figures like a Human Flood, Brute Captain, Banshee and Scorpion. That's not all, August will also bring a special 12" Master Chief figure and October 2008 will see the release of three highly stylized figures. Wowzaz! And for easier digestion, we posted a list of figures, release dates and a series breakdown after you click towards the break.Good old McFarlane, we knew you wouldn't let us down.

We've got more details now about the Halo 3 action figures being produced by McFarlane toys and Microsoft. The six-inch tall dolls are expected to release in the spring of '08. We received a plethora of information regarding the proposed lineup of action figures back when they were announced in June, but now we have a much better idea of what they look like and price. Above you can see Cortana and after the break you'll find the Master Chief. This would not be the first time in recent memory McFarlane and Microsoft collaborated. McFarlane also did the art for a few official Halo 3 controllers that came out this year as well. The action figures do look nice even as prototypes and the $14 price isn't half bad. And we do get a chuckle knowing somewhere out there this spring a little boy will play out inappropriate scenes between his Halo and Gears of War dolls action figures.[Via BBPS]

Today, Todd McFarlane and his sculpting team just released some new product shots of the Halo 3 action figures that were announced back in June and let's just say the'll make a Halo fanboy tinkle. Don't believe us? Well then go ahead and take a look at the new product shots in the gallery bellow, but do make sure you're within' running distance of a restroom. The Grunt looks so real, so mean, so damn ... Grunty and fully poseable to boot. Yes sir, we're officially sold and will be buying ourselves some Halo 3 McFarlane figures come March 2008. We're saving up already. But wait, today's Halo 3 McFarlane fun isn't over just yet. In an effort to build Halo 3 figure excitement, McFarlane decided to release three different sets of figure shots to three separate websites including G4TV, Bungie.net and IGN. The Grunt pictures (which we've placed in the gallery below) came from G4TV, but both Bungie.net and IGN still haven't posted their exclusive pics, so keep on eye on those websites. Or you can just stop on back here, because we'll update this post and our gallery when the pics hit the net. Enjoy! Update 1: Spawn.com has all the details including pictures of the Warthog and Master Chief, which are viewable in our gallery. But we're still waiting on Bungie.net and IGN ... Update 2: Bungie.net and IGN posted their pics, say hello to Cortana, Brute, Jackal, Ghost and Brute Chopper. %Gallery-7108% [Thanks, TMD]

As you know, McFarlane is busy working on creating a set of Halo 3 action figures for release next Spring and so far all we've seen has been a Master Chief prototype. But yesterday McFarlane decided to reveal their work-in-progress models and boy are they beauts! Viewable after the jump are unpainted sculpts of the Brute Chieftain, Jackal Sniper and the Puma Warthog. Just look at the detail on these little guys! Analyze these work-in-progress models and agree with us that they are not only pretty, but will totally be worth the cash.[Thanks, TMD]

According to a press release issued today, McFarlane Toys will be producing a line of Halo 3 action figures and vehicles, as part of a licensing agreement with Microsoft. The line is due in Spring 2008. Included in the lineup will be Cortana, Grunts, the Brute Chieftain and, of course, Master Chief, standing proud at five inches tall. Announced vehicles include the Warthog, Ghost, and the new Brute Chopper. No Mongoose yet, but here's hoping everyone's favorite ATV will eventually make it on the list. McFarlane Toys is known for creating high-quality figures from a number of movies, television shows, and comics. Todd McFarlane, CEO of McFarlane Toys and the dude behind Spawn, is also designing special edition Halo Xbox 360 controllers and a headset, as reported earlier. McFarlane also produced a series of figures for Soul Calibur II, and designed the character Necrid for inclusion in the game. Let's just hope that Master Chief is the only big green guy around this time. Today, McFarlane Toys announced that they have partnered with Microsoft to create eight exclusive Halo 3 figures that'll be available Spring 2008. McFarlane will be creating highly detailed figures that are roughly five inches tall including five character figures (Master Chief, Cortana, Brute Chieftain, Jackal Sniper and a Grunt two pack) and three vehicles (Warthog, Ghost and the new Brute Chopper). But there are a few things we're confused about. Why the heck is it taking until 2008 to get our action figure fix? It's not like they didn't know the game was coming out this year. Second, what happened to Joyride Studios creating Halo figures? Maybe they lost their street cred.Prototype McFarlane Master Chief figure in all his five inch glory posted after the break. Enjoy.[Thanks, TMD]

  • Todd McFarlane designs wireless Halo 3 controllers

Microsoft's Xbox 360 controller is no stranger to hacks 'n mods, but unless your drawing skills are on par with Mr. Todd McFarlane, you won't soon be duplicating these on your own. Both the Spartan and Covenant wireless controllers are splashed in artwork by none other than the Spawn man himself on "high-quality, scratch and wear resistant plastic," and include a limited edition Halo 3 figurine to boot. Moreover, those who aren't down with wrapping their palms around a third-party controller shouldn't fret, as these special devices are first-party through and through. Lastly, an equally rare headset looks to also be available, but it skips the McFarlane makeover in favor of a simple Halo 3 logo. All three units are tentatively set to ship the first week in September for a stiff $59.99 apiece, but after waiting this long to finally have Halo 3 spinnin' in your console, you might as well complete the experience.[Via Joystiq, thanks Mark]

In a daring move that surprises precisely zero people, it looks like Microsoft will be releasing special edition Halo accessories to commemorate the release of Halo 3. There are currently three such accessories: two wireless controllers and a wireless headset. The controllers feature original artwork by Todd McFarlane, creator of Spawn. The wireless headset looks just like the current wireless headset, only it sports a Halo color scheme and the Halo 3 logo. GameStop lists all three items at $59.99 with a September 4 ship date. Of course, the dates and price could (and likely will) change. As an added bonus, those who purchase either wireless control will receive a limited Halo figurine from McFarlane toys.Any takers?[Via Joystiq]%Gallery-3905%
