And now for something a little different. Nixxiom and MozQ sheds an alternative light on The Day of the Cataclysm, highlighting the various moments and scenes of horror as Deathwing ran roughshod over Stormwind. Or statue building. You know, whichever is appropriate. Remember, statues are not effective against dragons. Make sure to watch all the way through. Interested in the wide world of machinima? Today's WoW Moviewatch is the first music video created by MozQ. It's a music video called Esc4pe and features both original characters, and a guest appearance by L80ETC. Mozq is the author who previously created Keep Browsing and Keep Browsing 2. Both of those movies were pretty well received, so it was exciting to seem something new from MozQ. I think Esc4pe lived up to those expectations, even if I'm not quite sure how I should be pronouncing the movie's name.According to MozQ, Esc4pe was created as an attempt to master the tools in After Effects. He also said he regretted his music choice about halfway through production, but I actually feel like it suits the imagery pretty well. The armor and character choice seems to support the hard-rock feel of the song. Ultimately, though, I think MozQ demonstrated some strong growth, and I definitely think he's got the hang of the software.MozQ warns that the ending might feel abrupt, since the goal of the video was exploring After Effects. I guess he felt he'd explored enough. Still, if I hadn't read his explanation of the movie, I'm not sure I would have noticed. I had just chalked it up to an editorial decision. In the end, it was a fun video, and I hope MozQ puts out another one quickly.Click here to check out Esc4pe. Interested in the wide world of machinima? Warning: The language in this movie is not safe for work.Today on Moviewatch, we take a look at the second piece from MozQ -- his first, Keep Browsing, was a fun little pastiche of geeky clips and fast cuts, and this one is more of the same. The animation has improved a little bit (the effects in the first few scenes with the gnome are done pretty well), but the humor stays about the same, so if you enjoyed the first one, you'll like this one, too.Between then and now, he's joined up with a group called Silverlined Productions, so we'll expect to see more from MozQ and his compatriots. Their blog says they've hooked up with a music director to make music for them, so keep your ears open for some original music in future productions. If you have any suggestions for WoW Moviewatch, you can mail them to us at machinima AT wowinsider DOT com.Previously on Moviewatch ..

Warning: The language is not appropriate for work.Keep Browsing is the freshman machinima effort of Swedish author Mozq. Mozq assures us that it's not going to be his last. It's a strong first video, and promises a lot of good things in the future. While the style reminds me somewhat of Wrath of a Couch Potato, the author does a good job of making the format meaningful for each tiny clip. Like Seth Green's "Robot Chicken," this video features short moments of comedy. Each visual segment is set up and executed very quickly, mostly drawing on the audience's memes and knowledge about the mis en scene to skip any preliminaries. Of course, if you're not steeped in geek or internet culture, a lot of the jokes might buzz by you.Mozq gives a shout out to machinima greats like Baron Soosdon, from whom he's apparently drawn some level of inspiration. I think this first effort comedy piece is pretty strong. I'm not sure if the micro-segment format is really my thing, but it definitely makes for a quick and easy watch.[Via Warcraft Movies]If you have any suggestions for WoW Moviewatch, you can mail them to us at machinima AT wowinsider DOT com.Previously on Moviewatch ..
