Murkablo already showing up in player mailboxes
The now-traditional BlizzCon noncombat pet hasn't usually become available for a few days (for BlizzCon attendees) to several weeks after the convention (for livestream customers), but it looks like 2011 is going to be different. We just got word from our readers Jeff and A Pence that this year's pet, Murkablo, is already available in mailboxes, at least for folks who've bought the stream. I logged in to check, and indeed, Murkablo is already here! If you've ordered the stream, your character's next trip to a mailbox should yield your own personal fire-breathing menace. BlizzCon 2011 goodie bag pictures have surfaced
Though vague on how he came by his goodie bag early, one BlizzCon fan has already posted pics of the bags contents. As expected, the bag contains a mini-Tyrael figure, an authenticator, lots of promotional fliers and a loot card with a redemption code for the Murkablo non-combat pet. That's it. Meet Murkablo, the BlizzCon 2011 exclusive pet
BlizzCon 2011 attendees and live stream purchasers will receive a gift this year of Murkablo, an in-game companion pet resembling the fearsome Diablo, main antagonist in the third game bearing his name. From the included screenshot, Murkablo appears to burn characters with fearsome, fiery breath. Along with Murkablo, players will receive an as-of-yet unrevealed StarCraft 2 in-game gift. You can still purchase the BlizzCon Virtual Ticket at the site for $39.99, which gives you four channels, panels, game tournaments, the contests, and more, without actually having to run from panel to panel like we will be doing. Ever since Murkablo was datamined, players had been wondering if Murkablo was going to be this year's BlizzCon exclusive pet or a pack-in companion for Diablo 3's inevitable collector's edition. Since BlizzCon pets are usually of the murloc variety, it was a safe bet that Murkablo would be our new best friend come BlizzCon 2011. Patch 4.2: Diablo-themed Murkablo pet uncovered
The latest build of the patch 4.2 PTR has revealed a new item that should make you want to stay a while and listen! Murky's Little Soulstone will summon Murkablo, who appears to be a murloc-ized version of the Diablo series' main villain: err, Diablo. It's very likely that this undoubtedly fearsome fellow is this year's BlizzCon goodie bag pet, though it's also possible that he could be one of the extras for purchasing the Diablo 3 collector's edition (much like Starcraft II's Mini Thor). Given the heavy murloc theme for BlizzCon, though, it's likely the former. There's no model quite yet, but Murkablo's icon is available over at Wowhead News. The news is already rolling out for the upcoming WoW Patch 4.2!
