Traditional retail may be failing, but it's giving way to tech-infused showrooms. Marie Claire, Neiman Marcus and Mastercard teamed up to showcase some of the concepts that will be driving that development in their New York City pop-up shop, The Next Big Thing. The store is open to the public every day until Oct. 12th, at 120 Wooster Street in trendy SoHo, and according to the invite, it's "a first-to-market, hands-on retail pop-up experience bringing to life the newest innovations in fashion, beauty, entertainment, technology and wellness."

We all know what catalogs are good for: starting fires in the fireplace, light reading in waiting rooms and makeshift placemats. Oddly, Google has decided to take these perfectly useful glossy dead trees away from us with the introduction of Google Catalogs, a free iPad app. Like most shopping apps, users can zoom in, learn more and purchase products through a company's website, but this one adds a slick little twist: collages. Put together a particularly sweet L.L. Bean ensemble and want to share it with Mom? No glue stick or scissors required. Check out the video after the break.

Is that Leica M9 Titanium announced at Photokina last month not limited enough for you at just 500 units available? Then take a gander at the Leica M9 Neiman Marcus Edition pictured above, which is available exclusively through Neiman Marcus's Christmas Book, and is limited to a mere fifty units. The camera itself is, of course, the same M9 you already know and covet, although it's wrapped in a brown ostrich leather trim this time around, and it comes paired with a chrome-finished Summicron-M 35mm f2.0 ASPH lens for this occasion. Sure it costs $17,500, but that includes Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3 and a personal delivery from a Leica photography expert, who will also provide a private training and orientation session. It's really quite a bargain when you think about it.
