Nintendo has given another stellar Wii U title the deluxe Switch treatment in the hopes that more people will play it on a system that's actually popular. We're talking about New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, which is available today on the Nintendo eShop and in stores for $60. That may seem a bit steep for those who already played through the colorful, 2D side-scroller the first time round, but Nintendo fans are probably used to paying full price for the same game by now. And if it's anything like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, it should be worth your time.

New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe is the latest previously released Nintendo game to find a fresh home on the Switch. It's heading to Nintendo's new console on January 11th, 2019, throwing New Super Mario Bros. U and the Luigi-based platformer New Super Luigi U into the same package.

Since launch, Nintendo's base Wii U Deluxe Set has shipped with Nintendo Land; while a fine game, it's not exactly a system seller. The console may soon be more enticing, as Nintendo is replacing its original bundle with a new Mario & Luigi Deluxe Set. The $300 kit now pairs a 32GB black Wii U with both New Super Mario Bros. U and New Super Luigi U -- arguably a smart move when many gamers buy Nintendo systems with the plumber heroes in mind. Nintendo Land will still be available as an eShop download for those who miss the party-friendly title. The new Deluxe Set should reach stores on November 1st, when Nintendo will also cut Nintendo Land's price to $30.

You're hosting a dance/Italian plumber enthusiasts party at your United Kingdom-based flat and need entertainment -- we totally get it. And so does Nintendo, apparently, as the game maker is bringing three new bundles to the UK starting on November 8th with the release of a New Super Mario Bros. U/32GB deluxe edition Wii U game console (the pack also contains the Luigi-based expansion). Next, on November 15th, an 8GB Wii U model gets bundled with Wii Party U and NintendoLand; a third, also 8GB unit, arrives on November 22nd with Just Dance 4 and NintendoLand. Nintendo's got each console listed at £250 ($400) on its new store, and pins the Just Dance 4 and Wii Party U versions as "limited edition." So, uh, act now! Maybe not. Considering the console itself normally costs £250 without any games at all, it sounds like Nintendo may be encountering some sales slowdown in the UK (things certainly haven't been rosy sales-wise in the US market). Anyway, probably not a rush on these puppies at the market next month, but some good options if you're looking for a Wii U with a free game other than The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD.
