Nintendo's marketing train keeps chugging along, as Wii Sports Resort once again takes over the Nintendo Channel. This week's highlight is a pretty slick commercial for the game that, while nice, fails to really highlight some of the best parts of the game. Where's the wakeboarding? Where's the cycling?

Nintendo is doing the obvious thing on the Nintendo Channel this week: advertising its games! One game, to be exact -- Wii Sports Resort has taken over the channel in a series of vignettes featuring professionals participating in their respective field in-game. The video above shows a Hollywood stuntman dueling Nintendo's guinea pig in the new sword-fighting minigame, and another features some world class canoeists throwing down in their sport.

The Nintendo Channel received an update today, with the new version in available in Japan's Wii Shop offering a new interface and a few refined features. Andriasang offered a translated list of the changes. Users can now select standard or high quality for videos, in a setting that is decided upon the first startup of the channel. Users can also make a "favorites list" of games in which they're interested. It is also possible to see more detailed records of playtime for games on your list. User rankings for games offer detailed information, like determining how much fun a game would be for one person vs. multiple gamers. The interface tweaks, however, are more significant than they might sound. Searching has been improved, allowing users to find games based on title, genre, or publisher, and each game's information is easily accessible from any video or page about that game. The DS download service is also more centrally located.Right now, the update is just for Japan, but it should make its way worldwide eventually!

This week's Nintendo Channel content focuses on Wii Sports Resort, which is only natural considering the game releases in little over a week. Aside from the overview of the game above, there's also a rather interesting 10-minute video showing some golf pros take to the links in the game. This week on the Nintendo Channel, there's a variety of new videos for Wii games, but our favorite piece of video content has to be the teaser for DS sequel Dementium II above. It combines two of our most favorite things: mono-toned speech and quick cuts to scary faces. Seriously, this thing has a quease factor of about 8, which, we're told, is quite high. You've been warned!%Gallery-4929%

Nintendo is planning a full-on assault of DS advertising this summer, evidence by this week's Nintendo Channel updates. In following around one family, the TV spots will show they they keep them from taking a detour into Boredsville during their vacation through use of the DS and DSi. Of course, as with just about any Nintendo DS advertising campaign, all we see them playing is some Brain Age and Mario Kart. But, hey, it's worth watching alone for the hilarious put-downs of one Garret Morris, trust us.For the rest of this week's updates, head past the break.

Now that the whirlwind of E3 is over, Nintendo is getting back into the swing of updating the Nintendo Channel with less exciting content than last week's big reveals. This week, it's all about the release of MotionPlus and The Legendary Starfy, with plenty of video content for both. Sadly, we don't have a demo of the latter, which we were really hoping for. But, hey, you can at least play Ant Nation. That's something, right? Right?

This week on Ask Joystiq Nintendo, we have just one question to answer as we prepare for E3. Next week, we'll be at E3, so we're taking a brief one-week hiatus from your questions. Hopefully E3 will answer every possible question you could come up with... right? Right? We didn't think the subject of this week's question was confusing until we started to answer it, and then it got kind of confusing. If you have a question for two weeks from now, send it into asknintendo AT joystiq DOT com. On to the question of the week!

We'll start again: "Oh, hey, look, there's a demo for Miami Law on the Nintendo Channel. Let's all download it."Promisingly, the demo is labeled "Vol. 1." You all know how it goes for the Nintendo Channel. Each week, we get a bunch of videos, and then some demos that were available for the last month. Last week, we were surprised to see that the new demo offerings for the Nintendo Channel were exactly the same as those the previous week -- most of which were repeats to start with. This week, it's two of the same demos, plus one that is a rerun from previous weeks. And this is how we've managed to feel surprised and bored at the same time.At least there are videos about Cursed Mountain and Night Game to watch. The full list of videos and demos is available after the break.

Did you miss out on the opportunity to play any -- or even all -- of last week's downloadable DS demos? This week is awesome for you, and only for you. Because the Nintendo Channel features exactly the same demos as last week. Well, it's swapped out the Personal Trainer: Cooking mac and cheese recipe for lasagna, but that happens every week. We're still pretty happy to see Gardening Mama, but our goodwill toward the title is going to diminish as it continues to headline the demo service. At least the videos are new. Check after the break for the list of available downloads.%Gallery-35422%

After last week's super-megatons, we half expected to find some more crazy surprises on the Nintendo Channel today. Unfortunately, nothing available qualifies as a crazy surprise, unless you missed the addition of the Rhythm Heaven demo to the lineup last week. It looks like a permanent fixture, like the Brain Age and Flash Focus demos! We were pleasantly surprised to find that the one debut demo today is something in which we have genuine interest: Gardening Mama. If only knowing something exists is not enough for you, then we present you with evidence: The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks' announcement trailer, which we've plucked from the Nintendo Channel. It's chock full of Link, trains, and dungeons. Pretty much everything you'd want from a Legend of Zelda game, except for maybe the trains bit. Yes, okay, there are three demos for DS games up on the Nintendo Channel, including one for the Monsters vs. Aliens game and the return of TrackMania. Great. Whatever. All of that is just filler for this week's main update: this Punch-Out!! video. The pink sweatsuit is back. The full list of new things that aren't this Punch-Out!! video (and one that is) can be found after the break.
