  • Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy hits North America Feb. 28

    Nintendo has pegged Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy, the sixth entry in Level-5's puzzle series, for a February 28, 2014 launch in the US. The news came from this morning's Nintendo Direct presentation. Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy revolves around an extinct people known as the Azran. Layton, along with his trusty apprentice Luke, discover a girl frozen in ice who is the last living member of the once-great Azran civilization. This sets the two on a globe-trotting mission in search of artifacts and the truth behind the Azran peoples' downfall.

    No longer will you be forced to put your detailed Deku Scrub drawings in the Wheel of Fortune Miiverse community. Nintendo has opened a new group in the service just for that sort of thing.The new Zelda Miiverse community isn't tied to a particular game like most Miiverse communities, instead offering a gathering place for people to discuss and/or draw fanart from across the franchise.

    Today's European Nintendo Direct broadcast flung an onslaught of new release dates and windows our way, but after dusting ourselves off we've managed to gather them all up nice and neat into a hopefully helpful post. We've already covered concrete EU release dates for Animal Crossing: New Leaf (June 14), Fire Emblem Awakening (April 19), and others, so let's quickly go over the stragglers.First up is Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity, which brings its mix of cute critters and dungeon crawling to the continent on May 17. As for the rest, it's just release windows for now. Splattered across the panes of the spring window are Etrian Odyssey 4 and the download-only Code of Princess, while Project X Zone and a 3DS version of Inazuma Eleven 3, with 3D-enhanced graphics, are baking in the heat of the summer window.

  • MH3 Ultimate, Fire Emblem Awakening EU bundles unveiled, Circle Pad Pro too

    Nintendo revealed European hardware bundles for Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate and Fire Emblem Awakening in this morning's Direct broadcast, along with a release date of April 19 for Awakening.The Wii U MH3U bundle includes the black Premium edition of the console, a black Pro Controller, and the game. Meanwhile, the 3DS bundle brings the black XL console to the continent for the first time, along with a pre-installed copy of MH3U. The Circle Pad Pro 3DS XL launches in Europe on the same day the game does, which is March 22.As for Fire Emblem Awakening, it gets a Europe-exclusive blue 3DS XL, as pictured below the break, which includes a pre-installed copy of the game. This morning's Direct presentation also confirmed all of the strategy game's DLC is headed to the continent, but didn't provide any release dates for the add-on content.

  • Mario Golf: World Tour tees off on 3DS this summer

    The Mario Golf series is taking to the 3DS fairway with World Tour, releasing this summer, as detailed by Nintendo president Satoru Iwata in this morning's Nintendo Direct broadcast.The 3DS entry. from series developer Camelot, features both traditional golf courses and ones inspired by the Mario series, and a roster that includes Mario, Luigi, Wario, Waluigi, Bowser, and Donkey Kong.

  • 3DS eShop games going on sale including Bit.Trip Saga today

    A sale on the 3DS eShop will discount one game a week in North America, starting today with the wonderful Bit.Trip Saga. At $10 for all six Bit.Trip games, that's an insane deal.All the games in the deal are worthwhile, actually, including Crashmo next week for $6, Fractured Soul on the 28th for $8, Sakura Samurai on March 7 for $4, Ketzal's Corridors on the 14th for $5, and Mutant Mudds for $6 on March 21.This promotion's going on in Europe too, knocking the 3DS games down to £19.99/€29.99 each week. First in line for discounting over there is the re-release of Ocarina of Time, which stays on sale until March 21.

  • New Mario and Donkey Kong, Dillon and more headed to 3DS eShop

    Nintendo has unveiled several new games for the 3DS eShop. First up is Kerploosh, a puzzle game about ... dropping things down a well, which is set for March 7 in North America, while Europe gets it a bit earlier on February 28 - there it's called Splash and Crash for some reason.On March 11, Dillon the armadillo cowboy returns in Dillon's Rolling Western: The Last Ranger. The game expands upon the tower defense elements of the first game, adding new characters and a moving train to defend. It arrives on March 11. Next we have the rhythm platformer HarmoKnight, which will arrive on March 28, with a demo set for March 14.Nintendo also revealed Mario and Donkey Kong: Minis on the Move, which brings the puzzle series to the 3DS. A release date was not revealed for North America, while Europe got a Q2 2013 window, once more with a different name: Mario and Donkey Kong.Check out a trailer above, and find trailers for HarmoKnight and Kersploosh after the break.

    Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D was just announced during this morning's Nintendo Direct, it will arrive on Nintendo's 3DS this summer in North America and Europe."This version of the game is being rebuilt for Nintendo 3DS," said Reggie Fils-Aime, president and COO of Nintendo of America.The game is a remake of Wii's Donkey Kong Country Returns from 2010. A 3D video for the game will be available on the Nintendo eShop later today.

  • Wii Street U now available, free for a limited time

    Wii Street U, the console's stylized, augmented version of Google Maps, is now available for the system. As was previously announced, the app allows users to navigate to a location on Google Maps, and then use the GamePad (and its various motion sensors) to view the Street View data for said location in a semi-realistic, one-to-one fashion.

  • New Super Luigi U DLC coming to New Super Mario Bros. U this year

    Nintendo announced a Luigi-themed DLC pack for New Super Mario Bros. U in today's Nintendo Direct. The DLC, titled 'New Super Luigi U,' applies changes to the main campaign to make every single course "all-new", essentially allowing for a new Luigi campaign.The DLC is coming this year. Nintendo president Satoru Iwata said the content was "large-scale," similar to that of a new game, and will therefore take some time to develop.

  • Animal Crossing: New Leaf coming June 9 NA, June 14 EU

    Animal Crossing: New Leaf will be released in North America June 9, and in Europe June 14. Time to sign up for an intensive civics class, so you're prepared for your duties as mayor.During the presentation, Nintendo's Bill Trinen hinted at some kind of new feature being added to the North American release, likely online-related. He didn't go so far as to say what the new feature was.

Mario & Luigi: Dream Team features things like mass Luigi fights. And it's coming this summer!That's a really short time between announcement and release, especially for an RPG.
