Scale has raised $41,000 in three days on Kickstarter, almost half of its $87,000 goal, and its reward tiers keep growing. A new $20 tier called "Friends of Scale" offers a copy of Scale developer Steve Swink's LA Game Space project, Inputting, along with Steam keys for Incredipede, Osmos, Electronic Super Joy and Noitu Love 2. You'll also get Scale, of course. The new $15 tier includes a copy of Scale and Inputting. The Kickstarter updates for Scale each take place in-game and show off the mechanics, puzzles and strategies players can expect from the final build. The second update provides a look at Scale's resizing gun once it becomes outrageously powerful and can no longer hit individual objects – instead it shrinks and grows entire worlds. Plus this update shows a really embarrassing photo of Swink himself. Take a peek at more improv Scale gameplay in the first update below.

Swedish indies are featured in this week's "midweek madness" sale on Steam. The ten games, regularly priced between $5 and $10 (with Puzzle Dimension the exception at $3), will be available as a bundle until Thursday for $15.The pack includes Blueberry Garden, winner of best game at the 2009 Independent Games Festival. There's also action platformer Noitu Love 2: Devolution, puzzler Lucidity and RTS Harvest: Massive Encounter. We're beginning to notice a trend with the midweek madness deals: a couple weeks ago there was a UK indie bundle.

  • Noitu Love 2 headed to WiiWare from Golgoth Studio

IGF 2008 finalist Noitu Love 2: Devolution is a 2D action game notable for having an extremely odd control system that combines keyboard-based movement with mouse gestures. It's now being ported to WiiWare, no doubt with Wii motion controls adding an extra layer of oddness to the run-and-gun's control scheme. The port is being developed by Golgoth Studio, the French studio behind the HD remakes of Toki (which was without a publisher last time we heard) and Joe and Mac. It asked the community for retro remake ideas when it received its WiiWare developer credentials. Whoever is responsible for this idea, the result is another interesting indie game on WiiWare. If you'd like to try it now, there's a demo of the PC version on original developer Konjak's site. [Via Gamerbytes]

With a title like Noitu Love 2: Devolution, we're fully aware that it sounds like the kind of inappropriate Japanese dating sim your creepy partner in junior high computers class would oft log on to Newgrounds to play -- but we hope that its unsettling eponym doesn't scare you off from what could be one of the best indie titles of the year. Observe the above trailer, and just try to suppress your glowing nostalgia for cult classics Gunstar Heroes and Mischief Makers.Creator Joakim Sandberg recently made the full version of the game available to purchase on his website for $20 -- but we know that you, our thrifty readers, will download the free, recently extended demo, to see if the Treasure-esque, mouse-controlled action game touches your heart as it touched ours.

Noitu Love 2: Devolution is described by its designer as being similar to Metal Slug, but easier (thankfully), and controlled entirely with the mouse. It didn't walk away with any awards from this year's Independent Games Festival -- having been beaten in the Seumus McNally Grand Prize category by Crayon Physics Deluxe -- but Noitu's sharp graphics and frenetic gameplay have certainly caught our eye.Check out our interview with the developer Joakim Sandberg above, courtesy of Mahalo Daily and vampire slayer/Mahalo correspondent Veronica Belmont.
