Here's a fun little bit of news before your weekend starts. Let's say you want to work for Apple, but your knowledge of integrated processors is a little lacking, and you don't happen to have Jony Ive-level design skills? Ask yourself: Do you make a mean sausage and olives? If so, you might be in luck: Apple is currently hiring a pizza cook in Sacramento, CA. Yes, really. For some reason (probably to fill out the staff at the local cafeteria), Apple wants someone with "extensive experience making pizza dough from scratch" and would like them to have "at least 2-4 years of experience working a high volume wood burning pizza oven featuring thin crust, Neapolitan style pizza." That is a pretty high-quality pizza cook they're looking for. Of course, this could just be a little blip in Apple's job system, maybe a test post that wasn't supposed to go live. But if you have extensive pizza pie experience and are looking for a job, maybe polish up that resume and send it in! Make sure it gets there in 30 minutes or less! [via App Advice]

It's time for the Star Trek Online edition of this month's Ask Cryptic, and executive producer Dan Stahl has stepped up to the plate with a whopping 5,000-word community-powered monster of a post. Stahl delivers some good news right off the bat, as STO is scheduled to receive several new content additions between now and the end of October. Chief among these are various Borg-related invasion events, new lore quests, the Klingon Academy zone, the duty officer system and assignments, and Feature Episode Series 4. The vast majority of the rest of the post is devoted to very specific gameplay questions and requests from STO players, and there's even a mention of the fact that Cryptic is hiring. Warp to the official STO website for all the details.

You can play the heck out of an MMO, you know this already, but have you ever thought about working on one? If you've already dismissed this idea because you're not a programmer or you couldn't draw a stick figure to save your life, don't worry! Game companies need a variety of talent these days, so you might just find something that fits your qualifications. Most game developer websites have a spot somewhere near the bottom in tiny two point type advertising the fact that they're hiring. Others post on job boards, or even major forums for their respective games. Recently, NCsoft took a slightly more aggressive approach by planting their help-wanted sign right on their front page. Others have done this recently as well, including Blizzard. Don't be afraid to check out the job listings on your favorite MMO's website for the possibility to get yourself started on the track to developing games, too.
