Perennial CES attendee OhMiBod is launching a Bluetooth-connected couples ring that promises a more enjoyable time with your partner. Unlike the previous Nex devices, the blueMotion Nex 3 is designed to be worn as an actual ring, increasing pleasure during couple's play. It does, however, share at least one signature feature with its predecessors: the ability to vibrate in tune with the music that you're playing on your smartphone.

Sex toys have come a long way since the early days of crudely-shaped, buzzing hunks of plastic. They're sleek, discreet and boast all kinds of features designed to give your sexy time a techy twist, from connected cameras to VR compatibility. But these additions can often come at the expense of battery life, and no-one wants to run out of juice in the middle of playtime. Enter the Esca 2, the second iteration of the Bluetooth-enabled interactive vibrator, which boasts a larger battery capacity.

OhMiBod's power to let folks connect with one another from opposite ends of the internet just got a little bit bigger. The company has announced that it is building both an Apple Watch app, something it originally pledged to do back in 2015, as well as an Alexa Skill for its pleasure products. Apple Watch users will be able to use their heart rate -- via the Pulse feature -- to control the intensity of its Bluetooth-enabled vibrators.

Don’t call it a dildo: Kiiroo and OhMiBod on the future of sex toys

CES may have a complicated relationship with sex, but one company at the world's largest technology conference has made it its mission to destigmatize doing it. For the past seven years, the family-run sex-toy manufacturer OhMiBod has made the trek to Las Vegas in an attempt to gain mainstream distribution for its line of tech-savvy pleasure products. This year, the company has partnered with one of the leaders in interactive sex toys, Kiiroo, to create an internet-connected vibrator that can communicate with the Fleshlight-branded Launch male masturbator. OhMiBod's Fuse claims to be the first of its kind to offer bi-directional control -- basically, allowing either the stroker or the vibrator to send sensations to the other device from long distances. Both devices also promise to sync with VR and traditional porn and can be used by webcam models to give their clients an extra-sensory experience. The Fuse can be purchased online, and you can see the devices for yourself at the Las Vegas Convention Center's South hall through the remainder of CES. The Kiiroo Launch is now available for $220 and the OhMiBod Fuse can be had for $150. I sat down with Kiiroo founder Toon Timmermans and OhMiBod's Suki and Brian Dunham at CES 2018 to talk about the future of long-distance love and learned a lesson in interactive sex-toy branding: Whatever you do, don't call it a dildo!

Way back when, Dutch teledildonic startup Kiiroo launched a pair of devices that let you have sex from opposite ends of the internet. There was only one problem: the Onyx male masturbator and Pearl connected vibrator were pretty underwhelming. It's a problem that Kiiroo has sought to remedy by leaving the hardware design to sex toy manufacturers who know what they're doing.

Editor in chief Michael Gorman, executive editor Christopher Trout and managing editor Dana Wollman join host Terrence O'Brien to give you one last update from the ground in Las Vegas. They talk about the history of sex at CES, it's quiet reemergence and all the most absurd gadgets from the show floor. Plus they settle once and for all who is the Flame Wars champion, and who will have something to prove in 2017.

Everything's a platform these days: Facebook, Twitter, Uber and others want developers to build software on top of their systems. But that rarely happens for sex-toy manufacturers, who often lack the knowledge, desire and customer base to bother. OhMiBod is looking to change that by offering coders the opportunity to build their own applications for its BlueMotion vibrators.

When I arrived at the Las Vegas Convention Center in January 2012, CES was a sexless desert of 4K TVs, second-tier smartphones and (yawn) Ultrabooks for days. I'd heard stories about scantily clad porn stars commingling with the same dumpy tech dudes who continued to stalk the show floor, their oversize polo shirts tucked into ill-fitting khaki pants. Tech veterans recalled days spent rubbing elbows with adult-film stars and nights stuffing dollar bills into G-strings. But from where I was standing, in a sea of brightly lit displays and airborne illness, there was nothing sexy about the world's biggest technology showcase.

Though there were plenty of fitness devices here at CES 2016, OhMiBod's Lovelife Krush beat out all of them to win our Best of CES award in the Digital Health and Fitness category. That's because the smart kegel exerciser offers a unique take on the fitness quantification trend, by making it easier for women to strengthen their pelvic muscles. Of course, there've been smart kegel exercisers before, but the Krush offers a new easier-to-insert form factor plus you can unlock more patterns for use of it as a sex toy too.

For years CES shared the Las Vegas Convention Center with the Adult Entertainment Expo (AEE). But when AEE decided to reschedule its show in 2012, the biggest tech show on earth lost its adult edge. That is, until this year. Over the course of three days, I met with four companies showcasing sex-related products in and around the show.

Kegels seem to be everywhere these days, and as soon as a body part gets popular, people start making gadgets for it. Sex-tech pioneers OhMiBod is the latest to follow in the footsteps of kGoal, Skea and Elvie by creating its very own smartphone-connected kegel exerciser, the Lovelife Krush. The device connects to your phone over Bluetooth LE and pushes data to a brand new companion app, TASL. Like the others, this one is placed in your delicate area for you to squeeze, while the built-in sensors push real-time feedback and coaching tips to the app.

There are many ways to tell someone that you love them. If they're not into flowers, chocolates or steak dinners, however, then you might just have to spice things up in the bedroom with an erotic device that's a little more exciting than a Magic Wand. After all, we live in a sane, mature society that can appreciate two (or more) people getting it on, don't we? Hell, when the biggest movie release on Valentine's Day is the story of a sociopath who uses BDSM to coerce a naive partner into doing whatever he wants with her, you know we're through the looking glass. That's why we here at Engadget have decided to pull together a list of the smartest, cleverest and maddest ways to tell your other halves to go fuck themselves -- in the nicest possible way, of course.

  • OhMiBod's Bluetooth "massager" has a clever new selling point for Apple Watch

Smartphone and smartwatch technology makes are our lives easier but sometimes gets in the way of human relationships. Thanks to OhMiBod's Bluetooth "personal massager" your smart Apple devices might just help you keep your relationship closer than ever. During CES 2015 OhMiBod announced the addition of smartwatch connectivity and biofeedback functions to its blueMotion line of Bluetooth massagers, including support of the upcoming Apple Watch. In fact, the company plans to release its new smartwatch app to coincide with the release of the Apple Watch. The new app allows users to transmit signals to their partner's massager based on their own heart rhythms. We'll let OhMiBod explain the feature: Imagine how you often feel with a partner-excited, turned on, and, at times, maybe even a little nervous. With this app, the wearer's heart rate not only creates the vibrations that drive his or her partner's pleasure, it also determines the strength and intensity of those vibrations. The watch's microphone will feed vibration patterns to our range of Bluetooth enabled massagers. So it won't matter if you're in the bedroom, in the club, or at a concert-you and your partner can enjoy real-time ambient sounds where it counts, when it counts, and with complete discretion, If you're having a hard time selling your partner on the expense of a brand new Apple Watch, think of pitching as "for both of us."
