With all the leaks during the past few weeks, it may have seemed there wasn't a lot more to reveal about the Pixel 3 XL. But after today's announcement, we finally have some official confirmation of its internals, including a whopper of a front camera in that notch. While you'll have to wait a few weeks for our official review of Google's newest large handset, we can at least stack up the XL against its closest competition. Check out the table below to see how the specs fare against behemoths like the Galaxy Note 9, the budget-priced OnePlus 6 (the 6T is still a few weeks away) and of course, Apple's mega-sized iPhone XS Max.

OnePlus isn't wasting too much time in bringing its version of Android Pie to its phones. A little over a month after Google released the OS, OnePlus is rolling out OxygenOS 9.0, which includes Pie features such as gesture navigation, adaptive battery support and a refreshed user interface. The update also brings OnePlus' own features like customizable accent colors and Gaming Mode 3.0. OnePlus noted that, going forward, its own OS will match Android's version number.

The iPhone Xs Max vs. the competition: A huge step up in size

Farewell "Plus" and hello "Max" as the name for Apple's larger handsets, with today's reveal showcasing a massive 6.5-inch screen size on the iPhone Xs Max. But how does it compare to the current crop of flagship phones, to which screen sizes bigger than six inches are old hat? We've taken the Xs Max and lined it up against two of Samsung's Galaxy siblings as well as the budget-friendly OnePlus 6. (We'll have to wait a few weeks to see how it stacks up against the Pixel 3 XL.) Of course, specs aren't everything. For a full accounting of how the iPhone XS Max shakes out, check out today's hands-on with the new device, and keep an eye out for our full review in the next few weeks.

Earlier this year, the OnePlus 6 was described as a "big step closer to the perfect smartphone," even if it was missing wireless charging and a microSD slot. Perhaps the company can make up for those missing features by offering the handset in an even nicer finish than the one before. Say hello to the OnePlus 6 Red.

OnePlus 6 face unlock can be fooled by a simple printout

For smartphones without home buttons, face unlocking has become a necessary and ostensibly more secure method for preventing unauthorized access. The iPhone X and Samsung Galaxy S9 have adopted the technology, but it turns out there's a way to cheat the system -- for the OnePlus 6, anyway. Twitter user @rikvduijn discovered that it's possible to exploit the face unlock feature with a printed color copy of the phone owner's face.

OnePlus 6 review: A big step closer to the perfect smartphone

I still remember that day, more than four years ago, when OnePlus came out of nowhere with its promise "to spare no expense" to bring us "the perfect smartphone." Ever since then, the OnePlus handsets have consistently punched above their weight against the other flagships, especially in terms of build quality, performance and value. While the OnePlus 5 and 5T might have looked a little generic, design-wise, the company has upped its game with the OnePlus 6, while hitting pretty much all the checkmarks: the latest specs, better cameras and slick performance, all packaged within a beautiful new glass body. Even with a slightly higher price, starting at $529, the OnePlus 6 is a desirable handset -- and one that can stand toe to toe against the likes of Apple and Samsung this year.

Feast your eyes on the OnePlus 6 Avengers edition

It looks like OnePlus went all out designing the Avengers-themed OnePlus 6. Unlike its Star Wars-branded older sibling, it got a lot more than a wallpaper and a barely visible logo on the back -- it features a Kevlar pattern under its back cover and a color scheme that works well with the golden Avengers emblem, OnePlus logo and mute button. The "Avengers Alliance" package also comes with a phone case in the shape of Iron Man's helmet, and a gold Avengers medallion in a box embossed with the team's recognizable "A" insignia.

The OnePlus 6 vs. the OnePlus 5T and OnePlus 5: What's changed?

The freshly announced OnePlus 6 is easily the company's best-looking device to date, but is it a worthy upgrade for those who are currently carrying a OnePlus 5 or 5T? Our upcoming review will have a more definitive answer, but for now, we can get a rough idea by numbers and specs alone. The most interesting part is perhaps the cameras: While the front camera has remained unchanged, the rear dual cameras saw a progressive upgrade over the three models, with the latest one finally regaining optical image stabilization. Of course, there are also several other notable tweaks here and there. Let's take a look.

OnePlus 6 hands-on: Slick looks come at a higher price

It's been only six months since the launch of the OnePlus 5T, but today the company is pushing out a new device that both packs the latest top specs and manages to one-up its earlier design. As you probably saw a little earlier, the new OnePlus 6 is yet another flagship that stuffs plenty of processing power into an elegant package, with its slogan promising to deliver "the speed you need." It also happens to be OnePlus' most expensive phone to date, with a base price starting at $529 to make up for the extra work put into its gorgeous glass design.

OnePlus 6 leak reveals more of its glass-centric design

OnePlus has been dribbling out details of its next phone for weeks on end, but one retailer may have revealed more than OnePlus was ready to show. WinFuture spotted an Amazon Germany listing (since removed) for the OnePlus 6 that included full images of the device -- no murky photos or teases here. True to expectations, the handset is dominated by its 6.3-inch display (complete with notch) at the front, and a glass back on at least the "mirror black" model. There's also a "midnight black" variant that appears to have a matte finish, although it's not certain this means a switch to aluminum.

OnePlus hasn't exactly been shy about hinting that its next phone is right around the corner, and now you know just when to expect it. The company has announced a OnePlus 6 launch event in London on May 16th at 5PM BST (that's noon Eastern). And to guarantee a packed house, it's selling roughly 1,000 tickets to fans who want to attend in person (starting at £16/$21 if you order before April 27th, £30/$41 after that). There's naturally a livestream for those who prefer to watch from home. Despite the hype, though, this may be little more than a formality -- many of the phone's details have been made public well in advance.

OnePlus is assembling an Avengers-themed phone

OnePlus fans will be able to choose between the basic version of its upcoming flagship and a special model based on Avengers: Infinity War. While that's awesome news for Marvel fans, the bad news is that the Avengers-themed OnePlus 6 might only be available in India. According to Android Central, OnePlus India has inadvertently posted a teaser for the collaboration, which you can see in the image above. The phonemaker has now confirmed the team-up, which it says is a way to celebrate Marvel Studios' 10th anniversary and to strengthen its ties with Disney India.

OnePlus confirms some of the 6's key specs

It's that time again: OnePlus wants to drum up hype for its next phone, and that means dribbling out specs to entice fans. CEO Pete Lau has confirmed some of the rumored specs for the OnePlus 6, and it's clear the company will keep up its tradition of bordering-on-overkill specs. The nearly-all-screen handset will tout the expected Snapdragon 845 processor and up to 8GB of RAM (the latter an option on the OnePlus 5T), but it'll also carry up to 256GB of internal storage instead of the 5T's 128GB. That capacity certainly isn't unheard of among giants like Apple and Samsung, but it's relatively rare among smaller brands.

The OnePlus 6 will have a notch

Concerned over all of the hate notches have been getting, OnePlus decided to get ahead of the issue and explain to The Verge why it's going the notch route with the OnePlus 6 and why that doesn't make it just an iPhone copycat. The company says that the OnePlus 6's notch will be larger than the Essential Phone's because going that small would've affected the earpiece and front-facing camera quality or required it to omit other sensors and lights. But it will be smaller than the iPhone X's.
