The PlayStation Experience keynote helped flesh out the Vita's horizon, but PS4 owners were given plenty to look forward to next year as well. Enter the Gungeon, Orcs Must Die! Unchained, Skytorn, Darkest Dungeon and The Forest are all due to arrive on PS4 within 2015, though Sony's home console won't be the only platform hosting the aforementioned titles. Enter the Gungeon, the game in the above trailer that features a gun capable of killing the past, will also arrive on PC, Mac and Linux. The 5v5 MOBA-style Orcs Must Die! Unchained will fight on PC. Skytorn, a procedurally-generated, combat-focused adventure that unfolds in the skies above a post-apocalyptic world, will launch on PC, Mac and Linux. Darkest Dungeon, an RPG that deals afflictions to a player's party based on their stress levels, will explore the PC and Mac. Finally, The Forest's mutated predators are already stalking prey in an Early Access version on PC. You can find additional PS4-flavored trailers for the rest of the above games after the break.

Orcs Must Die! Unchained, the free-to-play "fortress siege game" (aka MOBA), will begin its closed beta on June 27. "To celebrate the start of the closed beta, free-to-play hero rotations will be introduced and players will be able to get their hands on one of the new heroes each weekend throughout late June and early July," developer Robot Entertainment announced this morning. Entering the closed beta will require access, which can be obtained by registering at the OrcsMustDie site for a chance to enter. Folks in the alpha will automatically gain access to the closed beta. There's also the option of pre-purchasing the game for $20 if you'd also like to skip the line.

This week's reveal of Charizard in Super Smash Bros.' roster is a bit of a blow to our argument that Squirtle is the best starter from Pokemon Red/Blue. Yes, both pocket monsters were in the Pokemon Trainer's arsenal in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, but Charizard flying solo is a whole different level of awesome, one that's left us Squirtle enthusiasts drowning in envy. Playground rivalries aside, there's a lot more going on this week beyond Pokefeuds. Sony admitted that The Last Of Us is coming to the PS4, Borderlands fans are finally going to be able to play as Claptrap in Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, and we've got a faint glimmer of hope for the Xbox One to eventually be backwards compatible. This is also the weekend of PAX East, which you can treat as a source of news or, if you're attending, a giant game of "Where's Waldo?" Track down Joystiq's away team and say hi! Provided you can catch them between appointments, panels and the lone meal of their day, that is.

Orcs Must Die! is back, but this time the tower-defense action series is a lot more League of Legends. Orcs Must Die Unchained! is a free-to-play, team-based, 5v5 multiplayer game like the MOBAs flooding the market, with elements known to the series, and adding a card collecting element. "We've been calling it a fortress siege game," said Robot Entertainment CEO Patrick Hudson to IGN. Now players will not only compete against each other, but will be able to lead AI allies into battle. The first Orcs Must Die! was strictly a single-player experience, with the sequel adding two-player co-op. Now developer Robot Entertainment seems ready to throw in the kitchen sink with Unchained!. The game is expected to launch later this year, with pre-orders already available. Heck, you can play the game now if you pay $150, but there's also a $20 option if you want to wait until beta. Waiting for beta is sooo 2012. Premium buy in-pre-alpha is the new hotness. If you're attending PAX East, you can try before you charge into battle. The game will be playable on the show floor.
