Hasbro has struck a deal with Zynga to produce toys and games based on the social developer's catalogue of rich, nuanced IPs, which is great news if you've ever found yourself wishing you could somehow continue to give Zynga all of your money, even when you're away from your computer and smartphone. Now, Hasbro's definition of "games" is more board-oriented than Zynga's, and while the licensing arrangement allows for "co-branded merchandise," it doesn't allow Zynga to make games based on Hasbro brands. The first products will hit store shelves sometime this fall, and while no specifics toys or board games have been announced we've got a feeling that My Little Ponyville and Ouija With Friends aren't that unlikely.

Yesterday, we showed you Let's Tarot, a tarot trainer/simulator, and mentioned its Rare-developed NES counterpart Taboo: the Sixth Sense. WordJong dispenses fortunes, which can either tell you your future or describe character traits about you in the wonderful mystically-generic fortune cookie style. We figure that, for reasons we won't even bother making up, the DS has enough otherworldly power to support some other methods of divination. In real life, they're all consulted in earnest by some, treated with mocking amusement by others, but there's no doubt that any kind of paranormal phenomenon reproduced on the DS is For Entertainment Purposes Only. What kind of virtual oracle would you like to see on the DS? Magic 8-Ball? Automatic writing? Or do you agree with Morrissey's suggestion, provided in the video above? What are ya waitin' fi'?

If you happen to have one of them shiny new 2G iPod nanos, and you happen to have a penchant for the occult, and you're looking for a new party trick to impress your friends with while dressed in your gadgety-themed costume that you're wearing to that hot Halloween party, well, right now -- fear not, Engadget is here to keep you on the techno-supernatural cutting edge. Those creative friends of ours at CNET UK turned their iPod into a Ouija board, remarking on the similarities between the Click Wheel alphabet-search system and an analog board. CNET UK's ghost (named "Brad") communicated through various tunes on the iPod, clearly the medium of choice for today's hip 21st century spirit. Now if you do try this at home or are participating in other Halloween festivities, make sure to keep it fun and safe for all involved -- awakening long dead spirits can ruin somebody's night. You do want to be around to read Engadget on Día de los Muertos, don't you?[Via The Uber-Review]

One last Halloween themed post, I promise. Those crazy cats at Crave have gotten into the spirit, or should I say the spirits? Using the new search that is built into 5th gen iPods and new Nanos, they have turned everyone's favorite digital music player into a seer.Instead of getting that Ouija board out from the attic, gather your friends around your iPod and have everyone put a finger on the scroll wheel. Ask the all knowing iPod a question and marvel as spirits answer your every query.
