Patch 4.2: Rage of the Firelands guides and patch notes now available
Patch 4.2 is on the horizon as Blizzard has made guides and patch notes available for Rage of the Firelands, the next exciting chapter in the Cataclysm story. Players can go the WoW community website for content and feature guides on everything from the dungeon journal and Thrall's epic quest Elemental Bonds, to Firelands armor set previews and explanations about the new daily quest hubs. Also available are the PVP content features, the developer balance changes and casual content blogs, as well as a dedicated section (that is not yet updated) for troubleshooting and known patch issues. Everything is available in one place, a new, comprehensive listing that Blizzard hasn't really done for other patches before. It's a really nice touch. Patch 4.2 introduces the Dungeon Journal feature. Check out WoW Insider's coverage of this cool new tool. Thrall's epic quest, Elemental Bonds, will shake your perception of the former warchief and his powers. WoW Insider also pondered what this means for the greatest shaman on Azeroth. Two videos previewed The Firelands early on in the announcement of the tier, putting us Through the Fires and Flames. WoW Insider previewed some of the new dailies you will be completing, as well as finding the new rare hunter pets roaming these areas. For PVPers, Blizzard has got you covered with loads of news: Two new mounts, the Vicious War Wolf and the Vicious War Steed will be rewards for 75, 150, and 300 Rated Battlegrounds wins. They are even bind-to-account, so you can mail them off to your alts. Season 10's armor sets got a nice preview and are looking as ferocious as ever. Before a new PVP season begins, the previous one has to end. The War Games system got an overhaul and is back with patch 4.2. Blizzard has had a lot to say about the newest patch and what it means for players: Ghostcrawler went all out, explaining each and every balance change, spelling out what it means to be a developer on a game this daunting. WoW.com's Guide to patch 3.3
With the release of patch 3.3 we can now begin the final assault on Arthas and the Icecrown Citadel. Players will march forth sounding the cry of battle as they go up against the final foes of Wrath of Lich King. As each day passes and each boss falls (and each gate opens), Arthas is one step closer to becoming history. But Icecrown Citadel and the Frozen Throne isn't the only thing patch 3.3 brings. We've seen perhaps the most significant revamp to instance running ever with the introduction of cross-server instances in the new Dungeon Finder system. In addition, there have been numerous changes elsewhere in game that players are raving over. WoW.com's Guide to Patch 3.3 updated
Patch 3.3 has been out on the PTR for quite awhile now, and we've seen a ton of changes that will significantly alter the way the game is played. Everything from the new Dungeon Finder Tool, to the highly anticipated confrontation with Arthas. The sheer amount of content is hard for anyone to keep up with, and we've been steadily updating the WoW.com Guide to Patch 3.3 with everything we've written about the patch (over 250 articles now). This weekend we went through and did a large updating, sorting through a few things and polishing it up. We heard last week from a few sources that patch 3.3 will be deployed tomorrow, if Blizzard was able to fix the last few remaining bugs. We haven't heard any updates on that yet, but will let you know as soon as we hear anything. Updates to WoW Insider's Guide to Patch 3.1
Unless you've been living under a rock this past week, you've no doubt heard about this whole "Patch 3.1" thing. Yesterday Blizzard called it their largest content patch to date, and it certainly is shaping up to be that way.The only problem with large content updates like this is that, well, they're large. They're ginormious. Mom! Meatloaf! Now! (Who can resist using two completely unrelated Will Ferrell quotes in the same paragraph?)We've been updating the WoW Insider's Guide to Patch 3.1 quite a bit this past week, and have included all the content we've published concerning patch 3.1. Take a look at it and get all your questions answered. It looks like there's a good chance patch 3.0.8 will be released today. As such, we've prepared all our 3.0.8 resources into one gigantic page that you can reference: WoW Insider's Guide to Patch 3.0.8. This includes everything from the class changes and analysis, to patch notes, to all the fun with achievements.Assuming 3.0.8 is released today, we should be getting the official live patch notes within the next eight hours or so.
