Every year there seems to be something different at SOE Live. IN 2013, there was the big reveal of the new EverQuest Next and the surprise announcement of Landmark, complete with sand art and champagne. This year, one popular festivity focused on another new title in development: H1Z1. Attendees got all dolled up and put on their best undead faces for a night of dancing at the Zombie Prom (those who preferred the living enjoyed a pool party). It was quite the evening, complete with a wedding proposal! But even as some things change, some stay the same. Friends and guildies meet up (or just plain meet!), games are played, tournaments are won, costumes are shown off, swag is collected, and folks have a good time geeking out with devs. There were also plenty of heart-warming moments, from stories of players helping players to actual weddings. If you weren't able to attend the festivities, or you just want a little pick-me-up as you come down from your convention high, here's a quick look at the weekend in pictures.

Deep in the clutches of Guild Wars 2 withdrawal? Counting down the unknown number of days 'til you can play again? Here, maybe staring at pictures with Guild Wars 2 running on other people's computers will help. I mean, I guess there are also ArenaNet employees in there and some nice scenery shots of the office and surrounding area. But don't worry -- I know what you're really looking at: It's all about that flowing lava and those character designs. ArenaNet's new Facebook photo album highlights some members of the ArenaNet team, including our own dear Rubi and the rest of the Community team, as well their working environment and creative decorations. Be sure to take a spin through it in an attempt to find still more release date conspiracy fuel.

  • Latest iOS 5 beta brings photo album curation to devices (Updated)

Update: This functionality was present in Beta 1, sorry for the error. iOS 5 Beta 2 landed in the hands of developers last week, and details on the latest version of the mobile OS are hitting the newswire. One neat feature is the ability to create photo albums on your iOS device. In this beta version, photos are assigned to an album, but not removed from the original Camera Roll. If you remove one of the originals, it will be deleted from your custom photo album, too. This quirk may be removed in future versions of iOS, but it's equally likely that Apple will keep things as is. The photo album feature could let you organize photos on your device (something we've wanted for a long time), but you may still need the originals in the Camera Roll for syncing to iPhoto or iCloud.

We're not ones to get overly sentimental about photos, but the Album2 would love to get us started. The device hinges on a stupid simple control scheme of three buttons, no touchscreen nonsense here, and can sort through photos, movies and music -- though it's clearly centered around the first of those three. There's WiFi for pulling in YouTube and Picasa media, and... well, actually, that's just about it. The screen is great, there's a leather protective cover that flips around as a stand, and the back of the device is beautifully adorned with some raised braille-style dots spelling "album." When it ships, hopefully sometime this year, Album2 will retail for $199. Check out a video of it in action after the break. %Gallery-82178%

WoW.com readers, it's up to you to decide the fate of Turpen the Gnome Warlock with Choose My Adventure. Help test the site's new features by participating in this event, casting your vote toward the many aspects of Turpen and following his exploits on Alex Ziebart's WoW.com profile! The polls are closed and the votes have been tallied. The audience has decided that for this little experiment, I am going to play a Gnome Warlock while I track my misadventures on my profile. As mentioned in the original post, most of the decisions regarding this character's growth will be made by you, our readers. I'll give weekly updates on my progress via the blog here, but so much more will be happening over on my profile. I've already started a photo album which will contain screenshots of my little 'lock as he goes from level 1 to level 80.I've already rolled the character and I've named him Turpen, in homage to a certain Englishman on the WoW.com team. I've decided to play a male, because... well, I usually play female characters as you can see on my character list. Let's be different this time around! However, dear readers, there is still more for you to decide. There are three polls behind the cut below. Professions and my talent tree.
