Xbox Live just can't get enough poker, apparently, with Microsoft today announcing a free-to-play sequel to Full House Poker. Entitled World Series of Poker: Full House Pro, the new game ups the ante (geddit?) with ESPN announcers Lon McEachern and Norman Chad and the inclusion of real-world casinos.Players start each day with a free stack of chips, which can be played at single tables or in tournaments. Furthermore, the game will be playable across Xbox 360 and Windows 8, with players able to start a game on one platform and continue on another. World Series of Poker: Full House Pro will launch this spring.%Gallery-176526%

In light of last week's report that Deadliest Warrior studio head Robert Daly had misrepresented his military experience, Daly has resigned as head of Pipeworks Software. In a statement issued this afternoon, Daly expressed regret at having "misrepresented my role by creating the impression that I was a 'Green Beret.'" He further added that he has "nothing but the utmost respect for the Green Berets and my fellow servicemen." Daly also won't be appearing on future episodes of Deadliest Warrior, the Spike television show. "At this point in time for the best interests of Pipeworks Software and F9E [Foundation 9 Entertainment] I am voluntarily resigning my position of Studio Head of Pipeworks effective immediately," he said. "Furthermore, I have no plans on appearing in any more episodes of Deadliest Warrior."

I worried as I walked to the Spike Games booth for my E3 appointment to check out Deadliest Warrior that I might have been undeservedly kind to the game when I first saw it at GDC. Is it possible I liked the game so much because it was surprisingly un-terrible? Did I enjoy the game solely because I have a thing for preposterous juxtaposition in video games? Was I perhaps tainted from the start by the game's entertaining, edging-on-silly debut trailer? After my second getting my hands on the game, which was recently dated and priced at July 14 for 800 Microsoft Points (the PSN version will come shortly thereafter), I feel confident in saying that I was totally right the first time around. Moreso, the delight I experienced the first time I played the game was only expounded by the arrival a few new anachronistic combatants. %Gallery-88124%

  • Godzilla: Bumpiness Unleashed

You'll have to forgive us. Being Wii gamers, we aren't used to graphics. In all seriousness, we aren't entirely sure what to make of these Godzilla Unleashed screens. The monsters look incredibly detailed, so much so that we're not sure what to think. Are they too bumpy? Too scaly? Is that possible for big ugly monsters? We're going to call it good, since we think it would be bad karma to complain about Wii graphics being too detailed. No such concerns with the environments. It's like there are next-gen battles waging in a Dreamcast world.[Via NeoGAF]

Shelby Wills, producer for Godzilla: Unleashed, has recently started a blog in the hopes of hyping keeping you informed on his company Pipeworks Software's upcoming project. The first entry is more or less focused on the developments studio, as Shelby describes the workspace enjoyed by the team in Eugene, Oregon, and documents their love of Godzilla. There is promise of getting other team members together to post their own entries into the blog and, really, that's about the gist of the entry.Personally, we'd like to see more developers doing this kind of thing. No better way to get information on a game than directly from the horse's mouth, wouldn't you say?

Daddy Joystiq is reporting that Atari is reviving Godzilla for the PSP (among other systems). Godzilla Unleashed is being created by Pipeworks Software who also worked on the previous Godzilla games, so they know a thing or two about the giant lizard. If you haven't played a Godzilla game before, they're basically what you think they'd be, an all out monster fighting game. Pipeworks is saying that Godzilla Unleashed's single-player will group the monsters from the history of the film series into four factions that will each have their own narrative path. The cities will feature destructable buildings, so that even when you aren't hitting a monster, you're still destroying something. I think it's great to have a new Godzilla game on PSP, but am I the only one that would love to see a War of the Monsters sequel on PSP?
