Amazon is reportedly using drivers' tips for their base pay

But based on the emails the Times reviewed and according to the drivers it interviewed, the e-commerce giant has been dipping into contractors' tips to be able to meet its minimum pay commitment.
Amazon will build more Whole Foods stores to expand Prime Now
Amazon hasn't been shy about using Whole Foods stores to hawk its own wares, but now it's apparently building stores with that primarily in mind. Wall Street Journal sources have learned that the internet giant aims to build and enlarge Whole Foods locations around the US to put more people within reach of Prime Now's two-hour deliveries. The ultimate aim is to make Prime Now available at "nearly all" of Whole Foods' 475 US stores (plus new shops) where it's only available in slightly over 60 cities today.
Amazon extends its free US shipping period to December 18th
Amazon recently got in the Christmas spirit by offering free shipping with no minimum purchase to everyone. It had reason to celebrate, coming off the back of its biggest shopping day ever on Cyber Monday. But that bit of goodwill is going to last longer than we originally thought. In an effort to target last-minute shoppers, Amazon is extending the free shipping promotion until December 18th for orders that arrive in time for Christmas in the US.

Amazon brings Whole Foods delivery to Chicago and four more cities
Amazon's Whole Foods delivery service still covers a relatively small area, but it's seemingly growing by the moment. The internet giant has expanded the Prime-based grocery deliveries to Chicago, Houston, Indianapolis, Minneapolis and San Antonio, theoretically giving millions extra-quick access to produce, meat, everyday food and "select" alcohol. As before, delivery is available between 8AM and 10PM and shouldn't cost extra if you're ordering at least $35. You can spend $8 if you need your food within an hour.

Amazon now delivers Whole Foods products to your home in two hours
Over the past few months, Amazon slowly but surely helped people get used to the idea that it now owns Whole Foods by hawking its wares in the chain's stores. Now it's fully embracing the supermarket chain as part of its identity by making its goods available for purchase via Amazon's Prime Now service. Unfortunately, the offering is only available in select Austin, Cincinnati, Dallas and Virginia Beach neighborhoods for now, but the company plans to expand its reach to more cities throughout the year.

Via the Tesco Now apps for iOS and Android, customers can order up to 20 products out of a 1000-strong selection from 8AM to 11PM (or from 9AM on weekends). For serious BBQ emergencies, you can ensure delivery within an hour for an £8 fee, or choose the two-hour option for £6 if you've still got a pack of sausages in the fridge. Within the app, you can also track the progress of the moped-riding Quiqup courier entrusted with your supplies.
Tesco is secretly testing one-hour shopping deliveries
It's no longer enough for supermarkets to offer online ordering and home deliveries. Amazon raised the bar two years ago with one-hour Prime Now grocery drop-offs, and since starting out in London, it's expanded to other cities while its product selection has grown. Sainsbury's was the first supermarket to rival Amazon in the capital, but it turns out that behind the scenes, Tesco has also been testing a one-hour delivery service of its own.
Alexa lets you order from Prime Now
"Alexa, order chips and dip from Prime Now" is a phrase that you can now say and legitimately expect chips (and dip) to turn up at your door within two hours. Amazon Prime Now delivers Morrisons products in an hour
To help expand its grocery delivery service quickly, Amazon teamed up with Morrisons, the UK's fourth biggest supermarket chain. Amazon Prime Now delivers supplies to tailgaters at 49ers games
Amazon's one-hour Prime Now deliveries were already available to customers in the San Francisco area, but the company is going a step further for football season. The online retailer is teaming up with the San Francisco 49ers to deliver supplies to tailgaters at Levi's Stadium during this year's slate of NFL games. This will certainly come in handy when fans run out of game-day essentials and can't easily drive out of the lot to go on a grocery run.
