Contest! Create a new banner for PS3Fanboy!
You've all constantly e-mailed us with "You know, you still have the boomerang controller at the top of the page..." along with other such nudges to get a new banner. When we say constantly, we mean constantly. Well, we've finally gotten the thumbs up from the higher ups and guess what? We can get a new banner. However, we need your help. This site is powered by you, the readers, so we think it should be up to you guys to decide what our banner will look like. Essentially, it's a banner contest! The prize? Being able to see your banner at the top of this page every time you log on. Respect from peer for being the most badass banner designer person around.Here are some basic specs to get you started: Our site (thus the header) is about 900 pixels wide, so keep it to that... but if necessary, we can crank it to 1,000. We need the name, the "Joystiq presents" graphic, the "stronger, faster" tagline, and a compelling graphic of some kind, obviously. If you can, leave room for the subscription links at the top. Not necessary -- we can move those. As you can see on the current site, the controller goes over the google link stuff a little. The google area though is 728 px wide, so any design elements can only overlap it if it's on either side of that 728px area. At the current width, there's 86px on either side, at 1000 there'd be 136px on either side. That's really about it. Submit your entries via the resource links (probably as a tip) whenever you finish them -- we'd like a new look before the PS3 launch, but if we get a lot of response/entries, we'll fix it up a bit sooner for you!
