Netflix CEO Reed Hastings may be stumbling over a publicity misstep or two since launching in Canada just yesterday, but he sure knows the right mea culpa to give. In a blog post entitled "Apologies" -- which, amusingly enough, is published just after "We Blew It" -- the King of the Red Envelope says, "we are looking at adding a streaming-only option for the USA over the coming months." No prices are discussed, but our educated guess would place it parallel to Canada's streaming-only plan, $7.99 monthly. Would we be willing to drop all physical media in exchange for at least one extra dollar per month? Now that's a good question.

We knew the Kindle DX pilot programs at Arizona State, Case Western Reserve, Princeton, Pace, Reed, and Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia would be limited in number, but it sounds like students at those schools will have be extremely lucky or well-connected to get their hands on Amazon's latest -- according to Pace reps at today's launch event, each school will only receive around 50 Kindle DXs for the trial. That's just about 300 total Kindles, and it makes Amazon's crowing about revolutionizing education seem a little hasty. Not only that, but it's not like the program is particularly ready to go, either: the schools still haven't figured out which classes they'll try and switch over to the Kindle, instructors have yet to be brought on board, and it's still not clear whether Amazon or the schools themselves will pay for the Kindles, although students will definitely have to shell out for the books. That's a lot of dealmaking to get done -- looks like Amazon just gave itself some summer homework.

The Last Death Knight is your typical story of good versus evil. Long ago, humans were on the verge of extinction. To combat the dark forces, the last remaining created an Order to protect them. However, when they were ambushed, a father was able to help his son escape before meeting his fate. Years later, having been raised by night elves, he is ready to avenge the death of his father.Apparently the machinimator, Reed, created this movie in the Summer of 2006, but forgot about it until now. He is currently packaging up the film for a Summer 2008 release. Unlike some movies, which give everything away in the trailers, this one begins when the boy is grown and kicking buttocks. I think it has potential![Via Warcraftmovies.com]Previously on Moviewatch...
