With an eye on chipping away at Amazon's home delivery dominance, Target is expanding its next-day household essentials program across the country. The company says the Restock service is now available to 75 percent of the population, and it's slashing the delivery fee from $4.99 to $2.99. Holders of Target's credit or debit Redcard, meanwhile, don't need to pay for shipping at all -- something that Amazon's Pantry program doesn't currently offer.

Target announced today that it's bringing same-day delivery to five major US cities this month. Customers shopping in nearly 60 stores in Boston, Chicago, New York City, San Francisco and Washington DC will be able to have their purchases delivered to their homes within a two-hour timeframe. The service costs $7, unless large furniture is being delivered, in which case an additional $25 fee may apply.

Target continues to try and outcompete digital retailer and competitor, Amazon. The red bullseye-logo company has been testing its own Prime Pantry-like delivery service for a few months now, offering faster times than Amazon. Dubbed Restock, Target's offering expanded to customers Denver and Dallas last month. Now the next-day delivery system is growing, with new availability in Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco, St. Louis and the Washington, DC and Baltimore areas.

Looks like we can put a rumor to rest for y'all. As we reported on earlier, some people were wondering if Square-Enix was discontinuing their authentication token program as it never looked like the tokens were being re-added to the stock. We've spoken to Square-Enix regarding this matter, and they've laid the rumor to rest for us. The authentication tokens are not being discontinued (as they are pretty popular) and have now been re-stocked back into the store. We here at Massively highly recommend tossing the 10 bucks towards the token, if you can afford it, as it gives you access to the amazingly useful Mog Satchel -- a second inventory for your character. Better act fast, however, as these tokens fly out of the store very shortly after being restocked. To purchase an authenticator, log into PlayOnline, go to the Final Fantasy XI top page, select optional services, and then click security token sales.

For folks who reckon that they'll get the urge to pick up one of Warner's previously released HD DVD titles after it officially starts supporting Blu-ray alone, listen up. DVDTown took the time to actually ping the studio and ask what it planned on doing with regard to restocking HD DVD titles after May 31, and according to Ronnee Sass, Vice President of Publicity & Promotion, it will only do so if the demand is there. More specifically, Ronnee stated that "if there is a product available in HD DVD and there is a request from a retailer, we will provide." Still, the bigwig went on to mention that "there may be isolated instances that an HD DVD title will be created, but as a general rule, our titles will be out in SD and BD only after May 31." On that note, we suppose you should get 'em while the gettin's good, right?[Thanks, Sebastian]
