Super Smash Bros. posters up for grabs from Club Nintendo
Sitting on a pile of Club Nintendo coins, just waiting for some worthwhile physical goods to show up in the program's online store? Hopefully you've got some open wall space, because a new, Super Smash Bros.-themed poster set appeared earlier this week, offering the above spreads in exchange for 700 coins. The set features familiar art with a few crossover tweaks. Sure, you've seen Rosalina and Mario soar through space, but ... hey, which yoga pose gives you the power of flight, Wii Fit Trainer? Isabelle also seems keen on Mayor Villager snatching up a Smash Ball to banish Link, Mario and Kirby from the homely Animal Crossing town. Each poster is 22" x 28", with sets due to ship two to three weeks after coins are cashed in. For those that have never used Club Nintendo, coins can be earned by registering Nintendo games and systems with a Club Nintendo profile. Reward amounts vary, but registering 3DS and Wii U games generally grants 30 and 60 coins respectively, with post-play surveys and smaller, eShop-only games serving up smaller coin stacks. If you've already lined your walls with past poster sets, well ... at least there's still that Smash Bros. soundtrack to earn. [Image: Nintendo]

Actually, make that two minutes and four seconds of high-octane Nintendon't-know-how-to-slow-down kart racing. Mario Kart 8 will launch in spring 2014 on Wii U and will feature new buggy-type vehicles, as announced during today's Nintendo Direct livestream.
Rosalina, Luma to pummel little ones in Super Smash Bros.
Rosalina will bring along a Luma to help her knock around other Nintendo characters in Super Smash Bros., this morning's Nintendo Direct revealed. Footage showed her controlling Luma from afar with her wand as well as fighting along beside it.
Rosalina joins the party in Super Mario 3D World
Rosalina, protector of the stars in Super Mario Galaxy, is the unlockable, fifth playable character in Super Mario 3D World. Nintendo revealed Rosalina during its Nintendo Direct livestream today. Rosalina joins Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach and Toad – and their cat suits – in Super Mario 3D World. Meow.

Did you know that some people really like Nintendo games? It's true! Some people express their fandom by writing about Target Terror price drops, while others choose to imitate game characters at anime festivals. The Tanooki interviewed one such cosplayer, Andrea Zampella, and found that her Nintendo devotion is a new development! As it turns out, she grew up Segaist. It wasn't until Sonic the Hedgehog games began to show up on the GameCube that Andrea began to appreciate Nintendo consoles. Sonic and Mario at the Olympic Games was the catalyst for her complete conversion, marking the end of the Sonic/Mario rivalry.
