Viscera Cleanup Detail is now on Steam Early Access, allowing intrepid would-be space janitors the chance to shine (and polish, and scrub, and mop). Being an Early Access game, it has its share of issues and warnings. Developer RuneStorm cautions potential buyers that the game has network troubles and that everything is subject to change, and no feature is safe from the chopping block. If that doesn't scare you away however, you can buy Viscera Cleanup Detail for $7.99. RuneStorm notes that the price will increase down the road, so if you want to save some money and go for the metaphorical fixer-upper car over the shiny new one, Early Access may be for you. It's true, nothing cleans up blood and viscera off your floors, walls and PC quite like steam. Erm, not that we would know, officers. [Image: RuneStorm]

Indie developers RuneStorm and Flying Wild Hog have come together in a mashup of blood, guts, and pine-scented floor cleaner for a free standalone mini-game that tasks players with scrubbing a gruesome crime scene. Viscera Cleanup Detail: Shadow Warrior brings players back to the scene where Shadow Warrior hero Lo Wang has his first katana battle in Flying Wild Hog's recent series reboot. As master of the custodial arts, it's our job to clean up the mess left behind. The mini-game follows the same premise of RuneStorm's own indie title, Viscera Cleanup Detail, dubbed a space-station janitor simulator. In the game, which has already been approved via Steam's Greenlight process, players tidy up a space station after a massive battle. Viscera Cleanup Detail: Shadow Warrior is available now for owners of Shadow Warrior on Steam, Good Old Games and other online distributors.

  • Viscera Cleanup Detail is the next ridiculous game you'll have to play

Viscera Cleanup Detail points out a longstanding social implication buried within some of our favorite shooters: Who cleans up the blood, guts and flesh left behind by our violent rampages through facilities invaded by hostile aliens? In this game, it's you. Viscera Cleanup Detail is a first-person space-based janitor simulator, starring you as a rubber-gloved person tasked with cleaning up the remnants of an epic battle, including chunks of meat, pools of blood and bullet shells. It comes out of a 10-day game jam from developer Runestorm, and it's available in alpha for PC right now. "It was a long and horrific battle as the survivor dueled with all manner of horrific life-forms and alien mutations, but our hero won out in the end and destroyed the alien menace!" Runestorm writes. "Humanity was saved! Unfortunately, the alien infestation and the heroic efforts of the courageous survivors have left rather a mess thoughout the facility. As the janitor, it is your duty to get this place cleaned up." Viscera Cleanup Detail hopes it can clear away a spot on Steam Greenlight.%Gallery-193617%
