Actual, obscured screenshots Look, if the above question ever comes up, the answer's almost always going to be more Buzz! games. If you want to impress the audience with your esoteric trivia prowess, however, you might elect to answer, "Why, a new, unannounced project, of course!" You'll point out that quiz game developer Relentless Software recently updated its website, noting an ongoing hiring process not only for future Buzz! titles, but a secret, self-published project."Sony keep us very busy with our Buzz projects but there's something bubbling under at Relentless Towers," reads the site, referencing its agreement with Sony to pump out family-friendly knowledge-em-ups and shockingly omitting the exclamation mark in the game's title. "We've taken everything we've learned about making social games and the result is what, for the time being, is known as Secret Project #1."For the time being? Don't be silly, Relentless. Who wouldn't buy a game called Secret Project #1?[Via Eurogamer]

  • Rogers ready to launch LG TU750 Secret and TU330 Globus?

While we wade through the quagmire of MWC releases, Canada's Rogers Wireless (the only GSM deal in town, though one of two brands) seems to have prepped the launch of LG's TU750 Secret and the TU330 Globus. The TU750 packs a touchscreen, a 2.4-inch QVGA display, a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and flash into a thin sliding handset. The TU330 is a lowend flip with a 1.3 megapixel camera, GPS, snores, and Bluetooth and as the ad shows, pricing on this seems set at $19 on a three-year. Pricing on the Secret and shipping dates for either? We've no thought on that, but the image above looks like it could come from a flyer, so we'll hopefully hear more soon.[Via Mobilesyrup]Read - LG TU330 GlobusRead - LG TU750 Secret

  • Another (secret!) Need for Speed game in development

Thought three new Need for Speed games wouldn't be enough? EA seems to agree, confirming to Eurogamer that a fourth, secret addition to the series is also in development. Being secret, not much is known about the title, though it's fair to assume it'll have its own gimmick, separate from the other three. With Shift, Nitro and Online, EA have covered every console, so this fourth Need For Speed could land anywhere. Keith Munro from EA's Marketing division is quick to say that developing four games simultaneously is in no way a result of the economic crisis, stating that work began "long before" the crunch began. "This isn't about quantity, this is about crafting different games for different audiences and their unique tastes in the driving category. I would say that our strategy is the inverse of milking; it is an intentionally non-traditional approach." We're not sure exactly how "inverse milking" works, but it sounds quite uncomfortable for the poor cow in question. This seems a lot like regular franchise milking, though we'll reserve judgment until we get to see all four titles in action.

  • AT&T's Secret shows back up on LG's site

We already know this one's coming, and the fact that LG's no longer concerned about keeping it off their site suggests that it might be coming sooner rather than later. With any luck, the AT&T-branded version of the CF750 Secret will carry over the key features of its international cousin, namely 3G, a 5 megapixel camera, touch-sensitive display, and a wicked thin body. As always, it would've been nice if we'd seen it... oh, about six frickin' months ago when it launched everywhere else, but we get it, LG. You hate us. That's fine.[Thanks, Alex]

We like Renegade Kid. As the name behind Dementium (flawed, but still fun and hella scary) and the extremely promising Moon, the studio is shaping up to be one of the success stories of this generation. And now they're coming back with a brand new game for the DS! Or the Wii! We don't really know, because if Renegade Kid's Jools Watsham tells us anything about this new project, somebody will probably have to kill him, or something. All he'll reveal is that the project is "the game I'm most excited about ever in my career." Wow. For what it's worth, we snooped around on Renegade Kid's job postings page like the ace sleuths that we are, and found them looking for a DS level designer. Those minor, minor clues aside, it's a mystery for now, but going on past form, there's a chance some very cool 3D technology will be involved. %Gallery-20245%

  • LG Secret, Motorola VA76r "Tundra" confirmed for AT&T

    12.18.2008

We've suspected for a while that LG would be bringing a version of its ultra-thin, 5-megapixel Secret slider to AT&T, and now, we've got some hard evidence to back it up. The latest rebate form for the carrier -- dated December 26 to January 24, though that definitely doesn't guarantee the phone will launch in that timeframe -- lists a $50 discount on the CF750 Secret along with the Motorola VA76r "Tundra," a rugged flip that has already launched on Rogers and will be coming to do battle with Samsung's beefy Rugby. Exciting times to be on AT&T, eh?[Thanks, Kal]

  • Orange launching 60 high-res mobile TV channels in France

Upon first glance, we almost flipped a lid at the mere mention of "high-definition mobile TV." Turns out, that's probably a misconstrued way of saying "high-resolution," or, "a higher quality than usual." At any rate, Orange is making the final touches on its mobile TV service, which will deliver 60 channels (20 with unlimited access) on the company's 3G+ UMA platform. Reportedly, the first handset to take advantage will be the LG Secret KF757, which will be the first mobile to boast the Orange TV Player -- an application that enables users to "flick from one channel to another and to consult a guide to programs showing on each channel." Sounds pretty sweet, but be sure and give us a call when you really have high-def content to share and a phone to take advantage.[Image courtesy of DirectNews]

For those of you who've already tackled the new robot bosses, been through Wily's castle, and even taken down Fake Man, it may seem that Mega Man 9 still has something new to offer. According Seth Killian, community manager with Capcom, there's still one thing that folks haven't found yet. "There's only one undiscovered Mega Man 9 secret that I know about ... I don't predict anyone will discover this one for quite a while yet," Killian said over at the Capcom boards. Of course, with this, many have launched themselves into the thread, anxious to be the one who finds this last hidden gem in what is, indeed, itself a gem.%Gallery-30253%[Via Siliconera]

  • LG bringing Secret, mid-range slider to AT&T?

    by
    Chris Ziegler

    10.19.2008

We've heard some rumblings that AT&T was keen on picking up the Secret to shore up its high-end featurephone lineup, and that's being corroborated by what other sites are hearing as well -- all told, that leaves LG in a pretty enviable position with the 800-pound gorilla of the US GSM market, presumably launching the sexy (well, arguably sexy) Incite smartphone alongside one of the smartest-looking 5-megapixel handsets in the market today. The Secret clone, model number CF750, should apparently feature the same high-end cam, thin shell, 3G, and touchscreen as its European brother, simply swapping bands to make the package a little more palatable to a North American audience. Moving downmarket a little bit, the CF360 looks to be a lower-end piece that'll do duty in AT&T's rank-and-file lineup -- in other words, it'll basically print money. We're cool with all this, but seriously, guys, can we tighten up the European to North American technology transfer just a little bit? No? Too much to ask?[Via phoneArena, thanks alex]

  • One last chance to run Onyxia's key quest

    10.13.2008

Reader Blinger wrote in to remind us that if patch 3.0.2 does, as expected, go live on the servers tomorrow, tonight will be your last chance (for the foreseeable future) to see one of the best quests in the game, the Alliance Onyxia key quest, featuring Marshall Windsor's valiant walk through Stormwind to confront the deceiving and treacherous dragon. He's hosting a final viewing of the quest tonight on Khaz'goroth at 9:30pm Central, so if you've never seen it go down (and it is cool), you may want to stop by and check it out.In fact, why don't we try to make this a worldwide event? If you have the quest ready to do (or can get ready in the next few hours), why don't we say that at 10:30pm Eastern/9:30pm Central this evening, you can run the quest and let everyone in Stormwind on your realm see just what happens when Marshal Windsor runs out of bubblegum. There's quite a bit of prep work to do, unfortunately, so maybe not every realm will have someone ready to run the quest. But you can use the comments below to coordinate -- sure, everyone could jump onto Khaz'goroth to see Blinger do it, but it would be even more awesome to have every realm experience an unmasking of their own, because tomorrow, it might not be able to happen again. And of course, if you check out this or any other player-run events, be sure to let us know about it (with pictures if possible, we love pictures). It's always awesome to hear players finding new (or in this case, old) ways to experience the game together.

  • MI6 agent forgets to delete work records from camera before selling on eBay

We'd swear this had to be some sort of spoof on the impeccable James Bond, but sadly enough, the whole thing is true. A secondhand Nikon Coolpix camera which sold on eBay for a mere £17 ($30) turned out to be a real bargain once its new 28-year old owner completed his first image dump. Along with decidedly decent snaps from his US vacation, he also found a number of "top secret" images, diagrams and sketches that have since been confirmed as MI6 material. We're talking photos of rocket launchers, hand-drawn graphics of terrorist links and all sorts of other information not at all intended for civilian eyes. 'Course, the whole thing could just be the act of one talented Photoshopper, but we highly doubt the agency would be so fortunate.[Via Digg, image courtesy of WWII Airplane Model]

  • Black Ops MMOs: Games in development under the radar

Our colleagues over at Big Download have listed several PC games in development that they call "Black Ops" projects. The idea is that these games are operating out of sight, under the radar; nobody knows what's going on. It's all very hush hush and mysterious. The game industry and secrecy go hand in hand, after all. We're bringing this up because there are a bunch of MMOs in the list. In fact, they pretty much dominate it. Titles mentioned include the KotOR MMO, the Red 5 Studios project, 38 Studios' Copernicus, ZeniMax Online Studios' MMO (which is possibly Elder Scrolls-based), and of course Blizzard's mysterious "Next-Gen MMO." Interesting stuff. Head over to Big Download to find out what's up on the down low.

LG's Secret has arrived in Korea with an entourage of gems and precious metals in a couple flashy new colors: Ruby Violet and Titan Gold. If you're willing to plonk down 690,000 Korean Won (about $600) for this newly minted affair, the Ruby Violet is heading to Europe while the Titan Gold stays in Asia. Shame, we were eying all that DivX at 120 fps, carbon fiber, tempered glass, and 5 megapixel tech with a certain twitchy feeling in our Credit Card fingers. Sega might have spent the last few years dragging our beloved memories of Sonic through the dirt, but like an abused, battered spouse, we always return to the company's embrace. They'll change this time, we tell ourselves before each new Sega title is revealed. Sometimes, the gamble pays off. Other times ... not so much.At first glance, the company's Wii line-up for Leipzig (listed past the break) consists of titles we've all seen before, but Sega is also planning a "world premiere" for a hitherto unannounced game, one that will be announced in time for the start of the trade fair on August 20th. This being Sega, our imaginations have instantly fired up. Given the recent trademarking shenanigans and Sega's current fondness for reviving Dreamcast titles, our money is on a Jet Set Radio game of some description. You never know, however -- it could just be another Sonic game noone really cares about. We'd never rule that option out.Activate idle speculation!%Gallery-22964%

  • LucasArts hiring testers for extra-super-secret MMO

    08.05.2008

At this point, we think it's pretty safe to call BioWare's KOTOR MMO the absolute worst-kept secret in gaming. After all, the game was all but announced during E3. (That's when EA boss John Riccitiello confirmed it was in the works, you see.) Now comes word that LucasArts is hiring testers with MMO experience. Hmmm.Specifically, the job posting states that candidates will "test MMO games for bugs" and "strive to help make a competitive MMO." Really, now? It's something listed under the job requirements that has stirred up some intrigue, though. In order to get the testing gig, applicants must have "strong familiarity and experience with gaming consoles and Windows based PCs." So, the KOTOR MMO is multi-platform? Oh, you crazy secret-keepers.[TheForce.net via Massively]

  • MotionPlus totally ambushes third-party developers

    07.22.2008

We mucky commoners have known about the Wii MotionPlus add-on for just over a week now, but don't go thinking it's any different for third-party developers. At E3, Game Informer approached several third-parties about the peripheral, and were repeatedly told that the accessory was news to them -- as they understood it, Nintendo simply hadn't told anybody about the MotionPlus, prior to it being revealed last Monday. In other words, we can safely not expect a flood of third-party releases supporting the peripheral. On top of that, the developers doubt they'll be able to implement Wii MotionPlus into upcoming projects, such was the secrecy that surrounded the project. Not clever, Nintendo.

One of the great joys of unboxings is being able to appreciate a product from afar that -- let's be honest -- you have no business buying yourself. Take, for example, LG's tantalizing Secret slider, a phone that would definitely get the job done in many parts of the world -- but if you find yourself trapped in North America, the lack of HSDPA and GSM 850 make it a tough sell, despite the mere 11.8mm of depth and 5 megapixel autofocus cam with face detection. Fortunately, we've got enough photography over on Engadget Spanish to get the Secret mostly out of our system, so go on, have a look!

Look, LG, it's all well and good the Secret has a touchscreen and that sweet DivX-capable 5 megapixel camera, but making a viral video that can only be described as early-90s softcore voodoo porn and ends with a sheepish phone call from the dude's mother is probably not the best way to highlight those qualities. Video after the break -- warning, it's just a hair on the NSFW side.

LG's stylish Secret has been out of the closest for a good while now, but there's just nothing like a flurry of high-resolution shots straight from the show floor to drum up interest. The admittedly elegant slider is strutting its stuff over in Singapore, and we must say, that carbon fiber bod and 5-megapixel camera sure look delicious here on the other side of the world. Check the read link for a few more photos, and head on past the break for a hands-on video.

  • Goldstriker's work makes the LG Secret decidedly less secretive

    06.04.2008

As members of LG's fashion line, neither the KF600 nor KF750 Secret were ever designed to be completely anonymous, per se, and they definitely won't be if you procure yours through the folks at Goldstriker. The masters of conspicuous embellishment have added gold-plated versions of the new LG sliders to its line -- 24 karat gold, natch -- which should go nicely with the gilded Mercedes Benz medallions that Goldstriker also sells. It seems that your choice of the KF600 or Secret will run £329.95 or £529.95 respectively (about $648 or $1,035), which at least in the case of the KF600 isn't much of a premium over what you'd pay for a standard unlocked version. Just don't let that micron of gold rub off, and you should be golden. Yes, pun intended.[Via Pocket-lint]
