Wow, what a difference a week makes. For the last month, we've been positively saturated with new game releases. Many of them have been good games too, injected into us like so much delicious turkey-flavoring, making us nice and tender. Now, it seems the game industry has gorged on a little too much turkey itself, inducing a deep sleep and a week off from the tedious process of releasing new games. Yes, it seems only History Channel: Battle for the Pacific opted for the ham instead, as it is the only Xbox 360 game releasing this week.Allow us to suggest (as does Joystiq) that you crack open your (hopefully) metaphorical game refrigerator and scrounge for some leftovers. Maybe you could warm up some Mass Effect or cut yourself a slice of Assassin's Creed. Just look at it this way, you're stuck with leftovers, because Mom isn't cooking anything for at least a week.[Via Joystiq]

The holiday onslaught continues this week with nine new games for the Xbox 360. Assassin's Creed is arguably the most anticipated of the bunch -- and it's likely many gamers will be buying a copy on faith alone -- but we're sure there are plenty of people out there interested in the likes of BlackSite, Kane & Lynch, and Need for Speed Pro Street. And there are five more games aside from those. What the hell is a frugal gamer to do? Just take a look at all these games. Assassin's Creed BlackSite: Area 51 Beowulf: The Game Kane & Lynch: Dead Men Need for Speed Pro Street Monster Jam Soldier of Fortune: Pay Back America's Army: True Soldiers WWE Smackdown Vs. RAW 2008 We hope you've paid the bills already.[Via Joystiq]

And so it begins, a November to end all Novembers. Within the next month, we will be positively assaulted with new and wonderful Xbox 360 games. The summer wasn't exactly thin, especially as summers tend to go for video games, but the sheer amount of games dropping this month alone -- good games, mind you -- is ridiculous. But let's not get ahead of ourselves thinking about the impending arrival of Mass Effect, Assassin's Creed, Kane & Lynch, and Rock Band (to name a few). No, let's concentrate on this week's titles. One thing at a time, as it were. So, this week we have: Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare F.E.A.R. Files Bladestorm: The Hundred Years' War Scene-It LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga Cabela's Big Game Hunter We have something of a soft spot for Scene-It, but we imagine the majority of you are most excited for Call of Duty 4. We don't blame you either, all of us here at X3F were addicted to its online leveling system during the beta in earlier this year.Don't get too excited though. We've got three more weeks of high caliber releases to come. You might want to start your financial planning now.

It's one of those weeks. Yes, we know there are plenty of games releasing this week -- quite a few in fact -- but this is one of those weeks with a banner game. Of course, we're talking about Guitar Hero III. Chances are, if you want this game, you picked it up over the weekend and have been rocking faces off for hours now. For those of you that have other interests, here's a list of the games releasing this week that aren't Guitar Hero III. More games, more games, more games. It's getting ridiculous at this point, isn't it? Even if you find yourself in the enviable position of being able to afford all these games, now on earth could you find time to play them all? Ah, well, it's not like they're going to stop anytime soon, so we'd best just get on with it, hmm? Without further ado, here are the Xbox 360 games that are shipping this week: Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation Clive Barker's Jericho Conan Tomb Raider Anniversary This week is all about action and adventure. We've got jets, monsters, barbarians, and a voluptuous archaeologist that makes Indiana Jones look like a sack of potatoes. Just remember kids, real archaeology is about cleaning off pebbles with a brush. Pebbles. So, you're probably better off with Lara.[Via Joystiq]

We're not sure how the hell it happened, but it seems like nary a week has gone by lately without at least one game that we have to buy. This week is no exception, as we finally get to sink our teeth (thumbs?) into Beautiful Katamari. Through some bizarre rending of the spacetime continuum -- portals may have been involved -- we have avoided every previous entry in the series (all 48 of them), so we're looking forward to rolling things up in our giant ball of stuff. Fear not if you're sick of Katamari though, because there are other games available too. Behold "The List." Tony Hawk's Proving Ground Beautiful Katamari The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion: Shivering Isles Expansion Avatar: The Burning Earth See? Look at all them games! Anyone plan on picking one of these up? (Come on. We know you're all about some Avatar.)

Alright, so we haven't really delivered on promises to stop talking profusely about Halo 3, but at least you can take comfort in the fact that there are other games coming out for your favorite console. Not only that, but this week we have a lot of new games coming out. Even better, we have some big name titles hitting the 360, namely Project Gotham Racing 4. Behold this week's glorious bounty: Project Gotham Racing 4 Flatout Ultimate Carnage Crash of the Titans NBA 2K8 NBA Live 08 Spider-Man: Friend or Foe Yup, that's a lot of games. Will it be enough to draw you away from Halo 3?[Via Joystiq]

Well, kiddies, here we are. While a select few have managed to snag a copy early, the vast majority of gamers will be picking up their copy of Halo 3 this week. A good number of those gamers will be standing in line tonight at midnight (including us) to get it as soon as humanly possible. Yes, Halo fans will finally get their sweet, sweet nectar, while the Halo haters will finally get some respite from the terrible beast. We'd love to tell you that this means the end of non-stop Halo coverage on X3F, but don't count on it.But enough Halo 3! After all, it's not the only game coming out this week. Why, just look at all these other fine games: CSI Hard Evidence Hot Wheels Beat That World Series of Poker: Battle Marvel Ultimate Alliance Enhanced: Platinum Hits Seriously though. If you're waiting in line for Halo 3 tonight, make sure that when you finally get to the checkout counter you ask for a copy of Hot Wheels Beat That. Take note of the confounded look on the employee's face when you ask, and treasure it. Remember, it's the little things in life that matter the most.

The gaming gods have seen fit once again to bless us with a week of multiple new games. This week plays host to six brand new games and, to top it all off, they're not all crap! Behold the plethora of titles with which we shall be showered this week: NHL 2K8 Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game of the Year Edition NHL 08 SKATE Fatal Inertia Kengo: Legend of the 9 Just look at them, sitting there in all their majesty. You've got role playing, sports, futuristic racing, and sword fighting. If that ain't variety, what is? Seriously though, if you haven't bitten the bullet yet, Oblivion will probably give you the most bang for your gaming buck. Well, the longest bang anyway.

After last week's glut of new games, the offerings have slimmed down once again. Last week was short on shooters though, so we're sure action fans will be pleased with this week's lineup. This week we (finally) get a crack at Stranglehold and Medal of Honor: Airborne. So, which will it be: John Woo Hong Kong action or World War II paratrooping combat action. Of course, there is the possibility of an even bolder choice: none of the above. But where's the fun in that?If you need help deciding, don't forget that demos are available for both titles on Xbox Live Marketplace.[Via Joystiq]

Wow. It's been a long time since we've had more than a handful of new games to report. All summer it seems as though we've been lucky to get even two new game in a single week. As such, we're happy to report that there are five whole games releasing this week. You know what that means, right? Yup, it's time to bring out our old friend, the bulleted list. Behold the list in all its majesty: Blue Dragon Moto GP 2007 Dynasty Warriors Gundam Stuntman Ignition Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 There's pretty much something there for everyone: role playing, racing, action, sports, you name it. Well kiddies, it's finally here. BioShock will officially hit store shelves tomorrow. Now everyone will be able to share in the joy of the lucky few who nabbed the game early at Toys R' Us (or the lucky four that won it from us -- yes, the giveaway is over, by the way). So, go out and buy it already! Don't forget that you can get it on the cheap if you know where to look. Also of interest, Two Worlds is finally shipping this week, though most advertisements list it as being available this Friday, so you may not be seeing it in your local stores on Tuesday. Now, if only we could find an honest review of BioShock, we'd be set.%Gallery-3532%[Via Joystiq]

Well kids, it's time to take another glance at the new releases for this week. As has become the tradition of late, by "releases" we mean "release". Yeah, there's just one this week. That's okay though, you can't have tons of new releases every week. No, we save that kind of madness for the holidays. Anywho, the release you have to look forward to this week is Nascar 08: Chase for the Cup -- we're not sure exactly what else you'd be chasing for in Nascar ... hot wings*? Whatever it is that you race for, you can go grab yourself a copy this week.*Note to self: create "Racing for Hot Wings" reality show. Pitch to Fox.[Via Joystiq]%Gallery-5153%

Are you ready for some football? We said, ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?!Ahem, well, we hope so, because this week it's your only choice for new retail games on the Xbox 360. Whatever your tastes in sports games, though, this marks a special week for football games. Yes, this week we finally see the release of 2K's return to football, All Pro Football 2K8. It's time to see if a non-licensed football game can make a dent in a world where Madden is the only NFL game in town. Will players gravitate towards (historically) more refined gameplay in lieu of licensed teams? We'll just have to wait and see. It will be interesting to see how APF2K8 fares against this week's other release, NCAA Football 08.[Via Joystiq]Update: Clarified question meaning.

We're not sure whether or not it's actually ironic that Vampire's Rain is the only game being released on Xbox 360 this week, but given its premise -- Splinter Cell with vampires instead of terrorists -- we're pretty sure that it is, at least, akin to ray-eee-ain on your wedding day. A quick search reveals that critics seem to agree. Ah well, we can't have new blockbusters every week, right? If we did, how would we play them all? Yeah, that's probably the best way to look at this. Just consider this week as a reprieve for your aching wallet.

Ladies and gentlemen, girls and boys, squirrels and hamsters, it's a big week for our beloved Xbox 360. Not only do we finally get to sample the heart-eating goodness of The Darkness (a game we're giving away, by the way), but we also have a plethora of other games arriving as well. In fact, there are so many games coming out this week, we're going to whip out (that's right) a bulleted list. Behold: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix The Bigs Hour of Victory The Darkness Overlord Transformers: The Game Ratatouille That's a lot of games. We're particularly excited about Overlord, which has been sitting patiently in our rental queue for some time. Are you planning on picking up any of these titles?

It's another lonely week for new Xbox 360 games. After receiving both Forza Motorsport 2, Shadowrun and more last week, this week we receive precisely one new title. This week we get Call of Juarez, a spaghetti western made into a video game. If shooting down bad guys with a six shooter while simultaneously reading from the Bible (seriously) sounds like a good time, then Call of Juarez is for you. Anyone interested in picking it up?[Via Joystiq]

It's a pretty big week for the Xbox 360. This week we see the release of two of Microsoft's major releases for the summer, Shadowrun and Forza Motorsport 2. Not only that, but also get Monster Madness and Surf's Up. You know, on second thought, maybe we should just stick to the first two. Honestly, the big question for 360 gamers this week is whether the choose Forza or Shadowrun. Given that these are two different games that appeal to two different kinds of gamers, it's not likely to be a tough choice though. So, do you plan on picking up any of these games?%Gallery-3497%

The thin gaming trickle of spring continues this week with yet another movie tie-in (last week we got Shrek the Third). This week we get the Depp-tastic Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. We're generally leery of any movie tie-ins, especially those that launch simultaneously with the associated film (the third Pirates movie also opens this week), and this time is no different. While the screens and movies we've seen of the game show off decent character models and some very nice animation, they also show off what appears to be generally ho-hum gameplay. We'll just have to wait and see if the game, ahem, holds water. On a more positive note for lovers of Japanese games, the Ubisoft localization of Senko no Ronde, retitled WarTech: Senko no Ronde, also debuts this week. Apparently Marvel: Ultimate Alliance Gold failed to properly hit the shelves last week, as it is listed again this week. For an ultimate alliance, they sure have trouble getting their act together.%Gallery-3339%[Via Joystiq]

It looks like the spring game doldrums have arisen once again. Having been blessed with the arrival of Command & Conquer 3 last week, we are now faced with the onslaught of a large ogre, his boot-wearing cat, and his talking ass. Not to be pessimistic, but we've sampled the demo of Shrek the Third and we think we'll pass. However, if you've yet to sample the goodness of Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, you can now pick up the special Marvel: Ultimate Alliance Gold Edition. Basically, the gold edition gives you access to all the super heroes and villains recently made available through downloadable content. You'll also get 250 more available achievement points, and all of it for the standard price of $59.99. Not too shabby if you haven't played it yet. Now, we'd love to get excited by these fabulous new games, but we've got a certain beta to play.
