Color us exceedingly skeptical, but a poster over at DPReview managed to grab what appears to be the first legitimate shots of Canon's elusive EOS 40D before the source jumped ship. Granted, there would be more shock now if Canon wasn't actually conjuring up a 40D, but if these images prove real, maybe we're a bit closer to newfangled DSLR heaven than originally conceived. Additionally, it was noted that the Exposure Mode Dial now seems to have three custom function settings, and there's even an option for sRAW (likely a reduced sized RAW) in the image-recording quality choices. So go on, check out another angle and a description of various functions after the jump, but don't get too riled up till word gets official, cool?[Via Northlight-Images, thanks Rob B.]

  • DivX GejBox redubbed Connected, spotted in the wild

Well, would you take a look at this. That interestingly titled GejBox that we peeked last month has seemingly been redubbed DivX Connected, received a slight facelift, and best of all, has been caught in the wild. According to DivX, "Connected is a digital home platform and interoperability standard for networked media devices, PCs and, online services," and it can supposedly access Stage6, Google Video, and ShoutCast internet radio when not playing back media on any of your networked machines. The boxes are apparently being doled out on a very limited basis and are still marked as beta hardware, but judging by the photos, it features an Ethernet port, built-in WiFi, a USB connector, and a remote to keep you firmly situated on the sofa. You know the drill, check out a few more pics after the jump.[Thanks, Dave T.]

  • Logitech G9 gaming mouse caught in the wild?

We lucky lads here in North America have been enjoying a few of Logitech's finer offerings of late, but a mysterious foreign site has seemingly leaked a few snapshots of a new Logitech gaming mouse. Of course, we wouldn't put it past China to crank out a perfectly pathetic knockoff, but the "G9 Laser" stamp does hint that this may be a (very) early production model of the G7 (or G5's) eventual successor. Interestingly enough, this model appears to have shifted back to the tailed approach, sports removable / changeable faceplates, dons a number of macro buttons and flashly LED lights, and includes a top-mounted battery compartment to boot. Only time will tell, but judging solely by how incredibly unsightly this thing is, we're leaning towards the faux camp for now. Click through for the remainder of the evidence.[Via EverythingUSB]

We know, yet another sexy device that will likely never hit American shores, but honestly, this thing was undersized (capacity wise) from the get-go. Of course, the futile mind tricks we play in order to convince ourselves that it wouldn't be nice to have Sony's PMX-M70 over here in North America won't stop us from ogling over live photographs. Thankfully, the folks over at IMP3 were able to wrangle up a few shots of the device in the wild, and while there's no news in regard to spec changes, feel free to click on through to see what you'll (likely) be missing.[Via DAPReview]

Right on schedule, the GUNDAM CRISIS attraction at the Fuji-Q Highland Amusement Park in Japan has opened its door for fanatics paying guests, and just as we expected, a whole slew of live photographs have made their way out. Fanboys (and girls) hoping that a great deal of care would be taken in its construction are likely to be pleased, as the 1:1 creation certainly bears a resemblance to the real deal. Without further ado, head on past the break for a few more shots, and tag the read link if you're looking for the whole roll.[Via Slashgear]

  • Neonode N2 gets unboxed, videoed

Granted, this whole unboxing process took a tad longer than we're used to, but considering the absence of an Apple logo and the fact that the folks in Greece likely roll with a bit more patience than we gizmo freaks here in North America, we won't grouse too much. Still, the first widespread unboxing pictures (and a video for good measure) of the highly anticipated Neonode N2 have officially hit the 'net just under a fortnight after the launch party in Athens, and we must say it's looking pretty good. From the well appointed packaging right down to the matte black outfit, the N2 is (finally) yours to witness (psst, the video is after the jump).Read - Neonode N2 unboxingRead - Neonode N2 unboxing, part IIRead - Neonode N2 Interface shots

There's sneak peeks, and then there's all out photographic mayhem. Thankfully for those looking to get a better view of Toshiba's Portégé G500, the latest group of photos safely falls in the latter category, as TheUnwired has managed to snatch up a myriad of photos showing off the smartphone. Of course, you've already had time to read up on the specs and decide if this thing was for you, so why not hit the read link and see if the attraction is there when it bares all?

The allure of playing with Nyko's Wiimote holding station / party bowl hybrid was just too strong for the folks at Joystiq to resist, and hey, we can't say we blame 'em. As the crew put it through the typical paces, they found that the cooling, score keeping, and organizing functions all worked perfectly as advertised, but even they couldn't deny that it essentially redefined superfluous. Still, we all know this thing makes throwing parties entirely easier for introverts, so be sure and check out the read link if you're desperate to see how awesome the Wii Party Station truly is.

In case LG's L704i managed to slip under your radar in the midst of all those other NTT DoCoMo handsets, here's a few pictures of it in its prime. 'Course, we wouldn't stare too long if you're stuck in the US of A, as all the wishing in the world isn't likely to get this piece of Chocolate to the States. Nevertheless, it does manage to look awfully sexy when grasped, so be sure to click through for some more hands-on excitement.[Via JustAMP]

While you've already gotten a taste of the prep work involved at RoboCup 2007, we know a more multimedia-packed perspective of the gala is more likely to quench your appetite for roboto-a-roboto action. From mechanical canines bending it like Beckham to Wiimote-controlled AIBOs, Atlanta is the place to be if you're looking for all things robotic. Best of all, the gurus inside have translated their circuitry and programming skills over to the camera, and a well-stocked Flickr pool and YouTube library are already beginning to form. So go on, give the links below a gander, and be sure to check back as the week unfolds to catch even more of the madness at this year's RoboCup.Read - Northern Bites BlogRead - RoboCup 2007 Flickr poolRead - RoboCup 2007 YouTube library

  • Sony Ericsson's M610i Lizy snapped in the wild

While we much prefer the looks of a recent Sony Ericsson concept over this here handset, we're sure the M610i Lizy will excite its fair share of owners, regardless. The stubby candybar-styled handset looks to sport a prominent touchscreen and a keypad that reeks of 1999, but we did hear that this device would indeed be a tri-band GSM member, and would include Bluetooth, WiFi, FM radio, an integrated camera and a Memory Stick Micro card slot. 'Course, we're all still waiting on something official, but hopefully it'll get somewhat of a facial rework before vying for our attention at the mobile store.

While we weren't able to get a first-hand glimpse of the mayhem that is RoboCup this time around, a camera-wielding Georgia Tech graduate student was able to do the honors for us all, and snagged quite a bit of impressive footage from the expo. Many of the shots were snapped during yesterday's practice rounds as competitors prepped their gear for battle (which began yesterday), and we must say that the oh-so-athletic Junior Soccer League robots are worth the price of admission alone. Still, even if witnessing robotic contention in person isn't enough to drag you to Atlanta, be sure to click through to get a glimpse of homegrown robotic innovation at its finest.

As the barrage of new Toshiba gear continues to flow from Paris, along comes a device that we aren't used to seeing from the laptop and monitor-tilted company. The seven-inch Tekbright 7 digital photo frame sports a stylish silver bezel, a clear beveled surround, rear-mounted kickstand, 800 x 400 resolution, and a 400:1 contrast ratio. Additionally, you can load up your images via CF, SD, MMC, MS, MSPro, xD, and USB, and there's even a paltry 16MB built-in for storing the crème de la crème. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear to sport any WiFi abilities or even a wireless remote, but the reasonable €139 ($186) pricetag seems to justify the omissions somewhat. More snaps after the break.

Toshiba sure is stealing the rays in the City of Light, as the outfit is showcasing yet another up and coming laptop in the Tecra X9. Not quite as flashy as the X200 nor R500 situated nearby, this 14-incher is destined for the hands of workaholics who aren't looking for high-end graphics performance and ultra-mobility. The black / silver color scheme seems attractive enough, and the built-in fingerprint reader ought to keep your manager's nerves at ease. Judging by the looks of it, you'll also get a number of USB 2.0 ports, 4-pin FireWire, a flash card reader, VGA output, and a DVD burner to boot, but the internals remain a mystery for now. You know the drill, more pictorial delight awaits you after the jump.

Just after seeing Toshiba's mysterious X200 roaming free in France, it looks like that isn't the only machine from the firm running wild in the land of fragrances and fashion. The ultrathin Portégé R500 was also spotted in Paris recently, and while we wish that NTT's 3D glove contraption was already a reality so we could feel this thing for ourselves, we'll just have to judge from afar for now. Sure looks as thin as advertised to us, but be sure and click through to see (more) for yourself.Update:More shots from Engadget China.

    06.17.2007

No sooner than Sony Ericsson goes and makes the K850 and K530 (amongst many others) official, it looks like there's already been some hands-on action with a pair. Reportedly snapped at the recent Sony Ericsson product launch in Hong Kong, the five-megapixel K850 cameraphone was oohed and ahhed over, but the not-exactly-soft soft keys and lack of backlighting seemed to be a bit of a drag. The K530 was admittedly in early prototype mode, so not much was known other than it still sported the generic model designation of SE123. But hey, at least the photos waiting after the jump will somewhat quell your insatiable desire for more details about these mobiles.Read - Sony Ericsson K850Read - Sony Ericsson K530

It's no secret that the actual launch of Nokia's E90 was imminent, and while you've had plenty of time to read reviews, stare at press shots, and drool over hands-on photo sessions, now it's time to party. A camera-wielding blogger was able to drop in on the fairly large launch event held in Jakarta and snap a few photos of geeks grappling to boot theirs up the fastest. Of course, we're sure you wish you were somewhere amongst the hordes, but feel free to leap on through for more of the action -- and to think, just under a month ago some impatient soul paid a whopping $5,000 for this bad boy.

While the camera wielding crew over at Computex have shown us here in North America quite a few snazzy handsets of late, this one just may take the cake. It's not too often that you see a futuristic concept phone actually hit the production line, but if these photos are to be believed, it certainly looks like the ultrathin Nokia Aeon has gone quite a ways beyond the drawing board. Reportedly seen at Nokia's Finnish lair, the Aeon still lacks any sort of specifications, but it's worth a gander nonetheless. Click on for a couple more sneak peeks.[Via JustAMP]

While we had briefed you on both of Nokia's 6500 iterations not too long ago, it looks like the taller, more menacing Classic flavor found its way outside of its packaging to pose for a photo shoot, but thankfully for us all, it was later joined by the stubbier Slider. Specification wise, nothing noticeable has changed on the quad-band GSM phones since their debut, but seeing units out of the box and into (lucky) hands could bode well for those anxiously awaiting the Q3 release date. You know the hardware by now, so go on and visit the links listed below for a more truthful look at what you can expect in both of Nokia's 6500s.[Via Slashphone]
