Tuesday 4 August 170-something lbs. of face-palming rage.Food consumed today:A lot of really audible snacks and stuff that makes me sound bone-crunchy and vicious, like a Central Park West poodle.Just past midnight. New York: my penthouse. Do people never learn? Found out today that SouthPeak Interactive has hired Paul Eibeler to be on its board of directors. This is the same guy I had ousted from Take-Two back in '07 -- not to mention, Diary, I'm still bitter about that golden parachute we gave him. What really wrinkles my suit, though, is this statement by SouthPeak chair Terry Phillips: "As one of the most respected executives in the interactive games industry, we welcome Paul to the board of directors." LOL to the ROFLCOPTER! I laugh in their general direction, Diary. Eibeler was named "Worst CEO" by MarketWatch in 2005 for his handling of Take-Two and the way he dealt with the "Hot Coffee" scandal. I mean, I've taken my licks, but Eibeler getting hired? It's like nobody Googles anymore.

Jeux France has posted a further six shots of forthcoming LocoRoco/World of Goo-style platformer Mister Slime. The aim of the game is straightforward enough: negotiate environments by clinging onto strategically placed dots with Mister Slime's four Stretch Armstrong-esque limbs. You'll also be able to blow on the microphone and propel our globular hero through the air, or help him breathe under water.Incidentally, it looks as though Lexis Numérique's quirky title could be one of those rare beasts: a game Europe gets before the U.S. GameStop now says Mister Slime will release stateside on May 20th (a revision from its earlier listing of April 1st), while Jeux France maintains the title will spill over Europe on April 4th.%Gallery-17549%

  • Mr. Slime to ooze from U.S. store shelves this April

As if there wasn't already a broad selection of ace platformers on the DS, there could be another on the way soon. To date, South Peak Interactive's Mr. Slime has only received a release in Germany, but this inventive little platform game looks to be heading for North America also, after GameStop listed it for a release on April 1st.In the title, players negotiate levels by grabbing and stretching the eponymous hero's arms, so that he can grab onto conveniently placed dots that litter the environments. The above video made us feel warm and fuzzy for three reasons: Mr. Slime seems to be quite like a combination of Lemmings and LocoRoco. Plainly, this game would only be possible on the DS. History shows that blob-centric games almost always = win. Just look at the evidence. A Boy and His Blob? de Blob? The aforementioned LocoRoco? Win, win, win. [Via Siliconera]

It's been some time since we've seen or heard anything new about Two Worlds, the upcoming online RPG from Southpeak Interactive and Reality Pump. Lucky for us, a new trailer for the game has been released. The trailer shows off the the game's environments, characters, and some combat as well. Graphically, the game is looking mighty impressive, with visuals comparable to (but not quite as good as) Oblivion. The towns feature some particularly nice textures. There are several different weapon types displayed in the video, including swords, staves, maces, and spears. The video also shows glimpses of dual wielding and magic. All in all, Two Worlds is looking pretty decent. Check out the video and tell us what you think.
