We don't even have to try to explain the significance of today's Virtual Console game. It's Super Mario Kart. Well, okay, for our younger audience members: Super Mario Kart is like Mario Kart Wii, but older. Europe's been on a roll recently, first with the Hanabi Festival granting Castlevania: Rondo of Blood and others, and now Super Mario Kart! DSiWare has four games this week, including the remake of the Amiga Oscar in Movieland and Puzzle to Go Diddl, a jigsaw puzzle game whose title we're doing our very best not to giggle about. Super Mario Kart (SNES, 1-2 players, 800 Wii Points) Family Mini Golf (WiiWare, 1-8 players, 500 Wii Points) Chronos Twins DX (WiiWare, 1 player, 700 Wii Points) AiRace: Tunnel (DSiWare, 1 player, 200 DSi Points) Oscar in Movieland (DSiWare, 1 player, 800 DSi Points) Puzzle to Go Diddl (DSiWare, 1 player, 500 DSi Points) Spaceball Revolution (DSiWare, 1 player, 500 DSi Points)

As expected, today marks the release of Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney: Justice for All on WiIWare. Capcom's lawyer-'em-up is joined by a plethora of new titles, so if you have some extra pocket change or a packed piggy bank, you'll want to head past the break and see what's available for download this week.

It's been a longer-than-usual wait, but Nintendo has finally gone ahead and updated with this week's downloadable content. In addition to new WiiWare games, a new Virtual Console game and some fresh DSiWare content, there's a renovated Nintendo Channel to check out. Head past the break and see what's in store this week.

  • Spaceball on NA WiiWare this week, not what you think it is

No, Mel Brooks isn't trying his hand at game development. As much as we wish it were true, it just isn't so. Instead, according to NintendoRAW, North America will be laying its grubby mitts on Spaceball Revolution as part of next week's WiiWare releases (it's already out in Europe). The game rests somewhere between Pong and a puzzle game, requiring players to toss a ball down an alley and light up certain squares. Naturally, there are plenty of obstacles to prevent you from accomplishing this. If you've been waiting for some decent ball-chucking action -- and can stomach the heartbreak of a world without Spaceballs: The Video Game -- you might want to give it a try.

As mentioned in the announcement of Squibs Arcade, Nintendo of Europe is holding a WiiWare (and DSiWare) media summit this week. During the event, Nintendo released a list of WiiWare and DSiWare games planned for release between April and June. On WiiWare, the biggest news is Cave Story! Even though we knew it was scheduled for release in April or May, seeing more confirmation of that (for more regions) is great! Swords & Soldiers is also on the way. In addition, there are also a few games we haven't heard much (or anything) about. Each game has a brief description in Nintendo's announcement. Bonsai Barber Cave Story ColorZ Crystal Defenders R1 Icarian: Kindred Spirits LIT Overturn: Mecha Wars Robocalypse: Beaver Defense Spaceball: Revolution Squibs Arcade Swords & Soldiers Water Warfare In DSiWare, the most exciting title (to us) is Nintendo's Art Style: PiCOPiCT, a retro-Nintendo-themed puzzler with reinterpreted NES music by YMCK. A Little Bit of... Dr. Kawashima's Brain Training: Maths Edition Art Style: PICOPICT Mighty Flip Champs! Mixed Messages Pop Superstar: Road to Celebrity Real Football 2009 [Via NintendoLife]
