Tekken Card Tournament, Namco Bandai's free-to-play mobile/browser card battling thing, has been downloaded more than five million times, the pub/dev announced today. Namco Bandai didn't specify exactly how those downloads break down on a per-device basis, nor was any mention made of how many of your Earth dollars the game has amassed since its release last April. To put that milestone into perspective, Tekken Card Tournament broke one million downloads just four days after its release. At any rate, Namco Bandai is celebrating its accomplishment by applying a 40-percent discount to digital booster packs until 1 p.m. Eastern on Wednesday, October 16 – assuming your pathetic excuse for a planet manages to survive that long. This is Parphalatoz the Abhorrent, wishing you a happy Canadian Thanksgiving and a terrible blight upon your cretinous species.

Tekken Revolution was revealed earlier today by a trailer tucked away 19 minutes inside of a video segment on Gamespot. The game, which is both free-to-play and a PlayStation 3 exclusive, will be available this Tuesday, June 11. Aside from the fact that Paul, Bryan, Kazuya and Lars are all featured in the footage shown, little else is known. Tekken ringleader Katsuhiro Harada previously dismissed an Australian Classifications Board listing for the title as being in reference to a new version of Tekken Card Tournament. That, coupled with the fact that no user interface is shown in the Revolution footage, is enough to keep us from assuming that this is a fighting game – it could just as easily be a high-def, ultra-pretty version of Namco Bandai's existing, mobile free-to-play competitive card game set in the Tekken universe. With E3 breathing down our necks, we expect to learn more soon.

A new ratings board listing for a game called 'Tekken Revolution' is something of a false alarm, claims Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada. The rating, which emerged this week on the Australian Classifications Board, points towards a game from Namco Bandai. However, Harada says the listing is a "description mistake" relating to a registration of a new version of Tekken Card Tournament, the free online card-based game."I think Someone confuse [sic] Platform or Game Genre," Harada tweeted.Sounds like Harada isn't talking about a revolution for his fighting series, then. Maybe he's just doing a few revolutions of joy at Card Tournament notching a million downloads just four days after being released.

Tekken Card Tournament was downloaded over a million times (in aggregate) within the first four days of its availability on the App Store, Google Play and Amazon's Appstore for Android, Namco Bandai has announced. That's not counting however many people played the game directly in their browser, either. To signify the occasion, Namco Bandai has enacted a 48 hour, 30 percent off sale for all in-game booster packs, as of 11 a.m. Eastern this morning. Do note: this discount applies to the packs of cards themselves, which must be purchased using in-game currency. The purchase price of the in-game currency itself, however, has not been discounted, though you'll still get more for your credits while the sale is in effect. You can always earn credits by winning matches and stuff too, but who has time for that in this modern age?

A new trading card game based on Tekken is making its way to the arena. Tekken Card Tournament is a cross-media TCG being rolled out in two phases: a free-to-play online card battle game for mobile devices and browsers, followed by physical booster packs available for purchase in-store. The free-to-play game is coming "in the next few weeks," while the physical card follow-ups will strike a battle pose on store shelves some time later this year. The two will work together – the standalone cards can be played on their own or entered into the online game through QR code scanning, which will either upgrade the appropriate fighter in your online stable or add him/her/a panda bear to your online roster. %Gallery-176876%
