Telltale's 'The Walking Dead' conclusion is coming to the Epic Games Store
Following months of turmoil, the final season of Telltale's The Walking Dead finally has a home. Skybound Games announced today that the concluding captures of the episodic series will be made available through the Epic Games Store. The first two chapters of the game are available for purchase on the platform now, with the third installment planned for January 15th. The fourth and fifth (and final) episode are planned for sometime in 2019.
Interactive 'Minecraft' adventure is now available on Netflix
When developer Telltale Games laid off most of its staff in September, it temporarily retained a skeleton crew to finish up work on a Netflix version of Minecraft: Story Mode. The first three episodes of the "interactive adventure" are now available on the streaming platform.
Work resumes on Telltale's final 'The Walking Dead' season
You might not have to wait too long to find closure for the final season of Telltale's The Walking Dead. Several weeks after rescuing the franchise, Robert Kirkman's Skybound has restarted work on the season using "many" of the people who worked on the game the first time around. It even promised that it would announce release dates for the last two episodes "soon."

Despite Telltale's effective shutdown, The Walking Dead: The Final Season will carry on -- and with help from none other than TWD creator Robert Kirkman's studio. Skybound has revealed a deal with Telltale that will see it finish the game. While there were few initial details, a spokesperson told Variety that it would work with members of the original development team to finish the story. Kirkman himself saw it as almost a matter of necessity at a New York Comic-Con panel.

Telltale reportedly lays off more of its staff (updated)
Last month, Telltale Games laid off the vast majority of its staff in what it called a "majority studio closure." But a group of 25 employees were to stay on in order to "fulfill obligations" to the company's board and partners. However, those employees now appear to have been let go too. As USgamer reports, narrative designer Rachel Noel tweeted today that she and the rest of the skeleton crew had just been laid off as well.
Telltale stops selling 'The Walking Dead: The Final Season'
Telltale has temporarily removed the final season of The Walking Dead from digital game stores. Head to its GOG page and you'll be greeted with the following message: "Telltale has requested a temporary pause of sales of The Walking Dead - Final Season." It's also no longer available on Steam or console either, reports The Verge. The now-defunct studio reportedly confirmed to Polygon that season pass sales have been "halted" as it works out how to "finish the final two episodes." We've reached out to Telltale to find out what's going on and will update this article with its response. Of course, a "temporary pause" implies the game should be back at some point.
This is what Telltale's 'Stranger Things' game might have looked like
Following the "majority studio closure" of Telltale Games last week, the future of many of its planned projects has been up in the air. Rumors suggest that The Walking Dead: The Final Season has been canceled, incomplete, while The Wolf Among Us 2 has been scrapped entirely. Also on the chopping block is the much-anticipated Netflix partnership for a game version of Stranger Things. And to rub salt into the wound, clips of what the game could have looked like have now emerged on Reddit (admittedly from a random user, but we're pretty sure they're legit -- it'd take a lot of work to mock these up). As you can see, it's a bit of a departure from Telltale's usual artistic style.
Telltale Games: More 'The Walking Dead' episodes on the way?
On Friday Telltale Games abruptly shut down, laying off most of its employees without warning. The studio was in the midst of wrapping up the Final Season of its The Walking Dead series, and tomorrow will release the second of four scheduled episodes. Fans who may have already purchased a season pass for all of the episodes have no word if they'll ever see the light of day. Earlier today, in a statement to Polygon, Netflix confirmed rumors that Telltale is still finishing Minecraft: Story Mode, which accounts for the remaining employees. Tonight, the game company's Twitter account posted that things might not be over for The Walking Dead, and said that "Multiple potential partners have stepped forward to express interest in helping to see The Final Season through to completion. While we can't make any promises today, we are actively working towards a solution that will allow episodes 3 and 4 to be completed and released in some form. In the meantime, episode 2 will be released tomorrow across all platforms as planned." The series has been popular over the years, and it seems sensible that there would be interest in finishing it properly. However, given the company's recent issues and then out of the blue shutdown, it's hard to trust that we'll see more of these games ever without more concrete information. Only time will tell if this interest turns into anything, which is a tough spot to be in for gamers who've already paid for the content, not to mention former workers suddenly twisting in the wind without severance or benefits -- would any revenue from future episodes end up in their pockets to make up for missing severance or benefits? According to one former employee, there were people who had started there just in the last week, including one who had moved across the country for a job.

Telltale's final 'The Walking Dead' season continues September 25th
We hope you've steeled yourself for the next installment of Telltale's final The Walking Dead season, because it's almost here. The developer plans to release the second episode on September 25th for PC, PS4, Switch and Xbox One players. You can buy a digital season pass for $20, while PS4 and Xbox One owners can pick up a season pass disc on November 6th for $30. You can also expect a Switch cartridge "at a later date."
‘Minecraft: Story Mode’ will become a Netflix 'interactive story' (updated)
Netflix has reportedly signed a deal with Telltale Games to bring simplified versions of its popular titles to the streaming service. The company confirmed to TechRadar that the first of these will be Minecraft: Story Mode, which will appear on the platform, followed at some point by a new Telltale game based on the Stranger Things series.

Ahead of E3, Telltalle Games released a trailer for The Walking Dead: The Final Season. This game is the final installment in a four-part series based on the popular comic book series. The release date is August 14th; The Final Season will be available on PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One. Telltale will release the game on Nintendo Switch later this year.
'The Wolf Among Us' season two delayed into 2019
It has been nearly four years since The Wolf Among Us wrapped up its original episodic run, but fans will have to wait a bit longer for a follow-up. Telltale Games announced that season two is delayed from its original late-2018 release window into 2019 due to "a few fundamental changes here at Telltale since we first announced the game last summer." As Eurogamer notes, this could refer to layoffs last year that cut its staff by 25 percent, even though at the time, the studio stated that upcoming releases including The Wolf Among Us season two would not be affected.
Telltale's second 'Batman' season ends March 27th
Telltale's games are defined by in-the-moment choices that have far-reaching consequences, and that's never been truer than it is now. It's releasing the final episode of Batman: The Enemy Within ("Same Stitch") on March 27th, and your decisions from the previous four episodes are determining nothing less than the personality of The Joker. You could end up with an arch-nemesis similar to the classic comic book character, but you might also wind up with an "unpredictable vigilante" -- to some degree, he'd be on your side.
How 'The Walking Dead Collection' enhances the original season
Telltale's original Walking Dead game was special, blending a gut-wrenching storyline with interesting, believable characters. Five years and two seasons later (four if you count 400 Days and Michonne) the adventure has started to show its age. So for The Walking Dead Collection -- a new bundle that launches on December 5th -- the developer has given everything a visual upgrade. To explain the changes, Telltale has released a video comparing the two versions during a pivotal scene -- Lee and Clementine's first meeting. (It includes some mild spoilers, obviously.)
Telltale’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ first season ends next week
Star-Lord and crew have one last adventure in them for this season of Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series. Season finale "Don't Stop Believin'" debuts November 7th and finds the ragtag group of heroes reuniting to take out galactic adversary Hala. It'll be available on just about every platform under the sun including mobile, PlayStation 4, Steam and Xbox One. Unfortunately, there's no word of a Switch release date just yet.

Telltale Games' much-lauded graphic adventure series The Walking Dead is coming to a close next year with its final season dropping sometime in Q2 2018. But to help console players catch up, the studio is releasing a $50 bundle on December 5th for PS4 and Xbox One that collects all the content released thus far.
‘Minecraft: Story Mode’ arrives on Nintendo Switch August 22nd
The second episode of Minecraft: Story Mode - Season Two will be released on August 15th and like the first episode, it will be available for download on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, Mac, iOS and Android devices. Entitled "Giant Consequences," episode two takes up where the first installment left off -- Jesse and company have brought back a lost adventurer, a powerful device and an enemy that the team needs to find out more about. And their next adventure takes them into an "icy unknown."
