The American PSN update today isn't quite as interesting as the European one, but it's still got an okay amount of content. Punisher: No Mercy has been released, alongside the latest episode of Qore and the normal amount of DLC. PSP fans can choose from a selection of new games, including Capcom Classics Collection Remixed. There are also some more PS3 and PSP themes and some Rock Band Unplugged DLC. Choose your platform to view the corresponding release list: (Note: Continue past the break to view both release lists.)

Courtesy of the PlayStation Blog, we now know that Frank Castle's Unreal Engine-powered, arena-style FPS, The Punisher: No Mercy, will blast its way to PSN on July 2 for a cool $9.99. Aside from multiplayer gameplay that allows up to eight different vigilantes and famous Punisher faces to go at it, there'll be a single-player mode rife with unlockable content. Let's hope that doesn't include Thomas Jane skins. %Gallery-32774%

While we're not the biggest Punisher fans in the world, we'll give credit where credit is due; this NES mod is very nice. With the LED lights and the slick, glossy paint job, we're finding ourselves a bit jealous of the individual who's soon to have this beaut. Of course, when we think about how much the inevitable winner of the eBay auction is going to have to shell out to win this bad boy, it helps. Hit up the video above then check out the gallery below for screens of the NES from almost every angle. %Gallery-37951%[Thanks, Val!]

Just days after confirming that Frank Castle will return to ventilate bad guys in Punisher: No Mercy, Sony has released the first shots from the upcoming PSN exclusive, confirming that a) it certainly looks the part of an Unreal Engine 3-powered shooter and b) the comic icon could use some work on his aim. In addition to the screenshot salvo, developer Zen Studios' managing director, Zsolt Kigyossy, also answered a handful nagging questions for the official PlayStation blog, noting that the game will support Trophies and character customization, and will include both single- and multiplayer modes. Additionally, a separate GameSpot report confirms suspicions that the developer is aiming to release the game "in line" with the new Punisher feature film, giving fans of Marvel's seminal badass even more to look forward to this fall. It's been two days since The Punisher: No Mercy was announced via the PlayStation blog. That's two days of head scratching and confused looks in the PS3 Fanboy office. What is this game going to be like? Thankfully, our questions, and yours, have been answered in the latest PlayStation Blog post. Zen Studios plans on pushing the Unreal Engine to its limits with regards to the game's graphics. Just because it's a downloadable title, don't be expecting them to skimp on the polys. A trailer will be released within the next couple of weeks and trophy support is already confirmed. That's another one to add to our trophy portal. There will also be a single player story mode (no word on co-op, but that doesn't mean it won't be included) and the download file is being kept as low as possible, but will probably hover around the 1 gigabyte mark. So now we know a little more about the title and, we have to say, we're quite intrigued. Check out the full Q&A for more deets.

What's so strange about The Punisher: No Mercy? Well, where do we begin? It's a downloadable game from Budapest, Hungary based on Marvel Studios' Punisher character. It's exclusive to PSN and utilized the Unreal Engine, and it will be the first-ever FPS game developed exclusively for download on PS3. According to the PlayStation.blog, "Our main focus is to create an awesome online multiplayer experience with the style and grit from the Punisher's world, complete with characters like Jigsaw, Bushwacker, Barracuda and even Silver Sable."No screenshots were included with the post. Undoubtedly, we'll be trying to find out more about this strange new title.Update: Looks like our friends at VGEvo have snagged a few leaked screens.

It's been more than three years since our favorite comic book antihero last waged a one-man war against video game criminals, but the above artwork, allegedly leaked to 4 Color Rebellion by Marvel editor Ryan Penagos, suggests that Frank Castle, a.k.a. The Punisher, may soon be making a suitably bloody return. Nothing beyond what you see above is known about the upcoming project, including whether Marvel intends the game to stand on its own, or if the title will serve as a tie in with this December's Punisher: War Zone feature film. The report suggests that more information is due next week. Until then, sic vis pacem, para bellum. If you want peace, prepare for war.
