As announced in late October, digital pre-loading on Wii U will start with the home console version of Super Smash Bros. Nintendo recently elaborated on how the pre-loading service will work for the upcoming fighting game. Starting on Tuesday, November 18, Nintendo will send a download code to those that pre-ordered the game through its online store. Redeeming the code will allow players to download most of Super Smash Bros. to their Wii U systems right away. Starting at 12:00 a.m. ET on the day of its official launch, Friday, November 21, a small update will be available to download that unlocks the game. Alternatively, players will be able to complete the same process by purchasing Super Smash Bros. for Wii U from the system's eShop directly, or by obtaining a download code from another retailer. Pre-orders for Super Smash Bros. surpassed that of Mario Kart 8 according to Nintendo, which expects "the impact on hardware will be similarly dramatic" to that of Smash. [Image: Nintendo]

Stealth Inc 2: A Game of Clones will launch October 23 on the Wii U eShop, Curve Studios confirmed with Joystiq today. The game was announced as a Wii U exclusive in May and carries on the sneaky puzzle-platforming gameplay style set by the first game. The series began with the free PC game Stealth Bastard in November 2011 before the enhanced Stealth Bastard Deluxe hit Steam one year later. It received a name change in 2013 to Stealth Inc before arriving on consoles. Unlike Stealth Inc's linear level design, the sequel will adopt structures similar to Metroid and Castlevania series with a "fully explorable" overworld. The game has players infiltrating a cloning facility, obtaining equipment to unlock new areas as they go. Not only is Curve Studios promising a slick 60 frames-per-second presentation, but Stealth Inc 2 will also include a full co-op multiplayer mode in which one friend can use tools and skills on the Wii U GamePad to keep the player well-hidden. Swords and Soldiers, the tower defense game that first appeared on WiiWare in June 2009, will now see a release on the Wii U eShop in April. While the first game was created by Awesomenauts developer Ronimo Games, fellow Dutch studio and Toki Tori developer Two Tribes teamed up with Ronimo to upgrade the game and optimize it for Wii U. Swords and Soldiers will be playable using either Wii Remote on televisions or via the Wii U GamePad with a "custom touch scheme." Players can use both play styles in the game's multiplayer mode as well. Two Tribes boasted "high-res HD graphics" for the Wii U port, which will arrive at the end of April. Ronimo Games is currently developing a sequel to the game, Swords and Soldiers 2, which was announced in February. Two Tribes cut its development staff and effectively "rebooted" the studio in January. [Image: Ronimo Games]

Club Nintendo is offering new rewards for loyal customers, namely the sort of rewards you put other items in. Those with 700 free coins can pick up a green Mario-themed accessory basket that measures just under a foot wide. Don't be fooled by the name, as Nintendo can't stop the rebels among us from putting anything other than accessories in the basket, like cats. Or other, smaller baskets. Club Nintendo's two other new physical rewards are Animal Crossing-themed pouches. Available in both pink and blue, the pouches store handheld systems as large as the 3DS XL for 500 coins. We're eyeing up one of the pouches to store candy instead, because Nintendon't tell us what to do. As for the loyalty program's featured eShop game downloads, players can pick between four games until April 6: Kid Icarus of Myths and Monsters on 3DS (150 coins), Number Battle on 3DS (200 coins), Yoshi on Wii U (200 coins) and Bonsai Barber on WiiWare (250 coins). After nearly a year's absence, Nordic Games brought Darksiders 2 back to the European Wii U eShop. The game was removed from the eShop at the end of March 2013 following the back catalog auction of THQ's properties, the result of the publisher's closure. Nordic Games spent $4.9 million to acquire the Darksiders series from THQ, and said in June 2013 that it wanted to find a developer for the series and do right by it. Darksiders 2 was a day-one launch title for Wii U that included off-screen play and DLC on the disc from the game's PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 versions. [Image: Nordic Games]
