Nintendo registers some interesting trademarks
WiiPointer, WiiCulture, and !!M.These 3 trademarks were recently registered by Nintendo. As it stand right now, we're left to speculate how these trademarks will integrate into the Wii. WiiCulture is more than likely a term that will apply to the system's WiiConnect 24 service, perhaps a version of Xbox Live's Marketplace. As for WiiPointer, we can assume that this will be the interface for controlling certain aspects of the system, Most interesting in this collection of trademarks, however, is !!M.!!M is more than likely going to be the messaging service for the Wii. We really don't know if the system is going to have any kind of voice chat or voice messaging features built in, so perhaps this can be some kind of instant messaging system. The parallels are there between the trademark and AOL's Instant Messaging service. So until we hear from Nintendo, all we're left to do is speculate.
