Sunday Morning Funnies: The necklace
Sunday Morning Funnies is your weekly list of WoW-related web comics. This week, we have the last of the New Year's themed comics (I assume), as well as some other new things - new beginnings, new places, new costumes, to name a few. In comic news this week, WoW, eh? was having technical difficulties (or a computer uprising, it has been suggested) this past week, and so there's no comic up. There is, however, a sketch up (linked on the list) that's worth checking out, for Cadi's facial expression alone. Hopefully things are going better for you now, Kelly! As mentioned last week, Gratz Adventure is starting up, and there are tons of updates to kick it off! And because Trig asked, last week's SMF title referred to Kissless of WoW, eh? For fun, this week's title actually refers to two comics.
Amanda Miller01.12.2014Sunday Morning Funnies: Suckers
Sunday Morning Funnies is your weekly list of WoW-related web comics. Happy New Year, all! I hope your 2014 has been going well so far! For the first crop of comics, there are plenty of well wishes to help kick off 2014 (plus some shenanigans), as well as some new developments brewing. From Draenor With Love has posted the cover for Chapter Two, so be sure to check it out. Gratz has posted several character development pages and character bios, as well as the title page for Gratz Adventure! And there's also some 2014 wallpaper to be had over at Trigonometry Comics. Finally, don't forget that we're always accepting tips and suggestions! If you've started or know of a WoW-related comic that isn't being featured, or that has posted some relevant content, drop a link into the comments section.
Amanda Miller01.05.2014Sunday Morning Funnies: Good ropework
Sunday Morning Funnies is your weekly list of WoW-related web comics. Several comics on the list this week have posted special Christmas, holiday, or Winter Veil themed editions. Although this does mean that the list is a bit thinner than usual, there is plenty of fun stuff; for example, Gratz includes some festive song lyrics, there's a comic crossover, and a rather morbid annual tradition is carried through (accidentally, of course). And there's caroling! Speaking of Gratz, Book 3 starts next week, and fully kicks off in 2014. Did you like the dwarven uh, display, last week? It was commissioned by Trig's wife, who showed up in the comments section (in case you missed it!). So if you didn't know Arugadh, mystery solved! (But wife aggro aside, I don't think anyone could have ignored such an articulate and... descriptive request!) Finally, NPC is not WoW-related this week. But, it's Christmas-related, and there are cats, and a really awesome picture on the wall in one background that I never noticed before (or never was shown before). So if you want to see the WoW-playing cats have their holiday fun, Put a Bow On It will pick it up from where we left off last week. And of course... Happy Holidays! I hope you all have been merry and bright, warm and safe, and are gearing up well for 2014.
Amanda Miller12.29.2013Sunday Morning Funnies: I found you
Sunday Morning Funnies is your weekly list of WoW-related web comics. This week's list of WoW-related comics has plenty of great stuff to check out, including a comic never featured here before, Zombie Roomie. It isn't a WoW comic but recently made reference to it. Thanks for the tip, JereHunter! There are also two guest comics on the list this week. Check out WoW, eh? for a guest comic by Gratz's Lackinganame, and Sara & Kleeyo for guest art by Desert Rat Phelios. Speaking of Gratz, this week, Gratz: Transition comes to a close! (I'm resisting a pun, here, so you should appreciate my efforts.) But apparently there are surprises in store for next week! From Draenor With Love continues its character development bonus with a feature on Vidyala, and Guilded Age posted more guild-itizations plus started Chapter 28. On Away From Reality this week, there's a pretty funny and interesting comic making use of gender role reversal. And finally, last week, someone showed up in the comments section with the following request: "Give us them sexy ripped male dwarfs with those beards that waft so wonderfully in the breeze!" Fair warning (or, good news!): it just may have been granted.
Amanda Miller12.22.2013Sunday Morning Funnies: Lickspittle-Leech
Sunday Morning Funnies is your weekly list of WoW-related web comics. In comic news this week, check out From Draenor With Love to learn all about Rades, as he fills out a special character questionnaire. Guilded Age continues and concludes its Axemas 2013 special, plus there is another installment of the guild-itizations (artwork that was a reward for certain backers during their latest Kickstarter campaign, up for everyone to enjoy). Oh yeah! And some gnome nudity. In other news, NPC is selling some pretty cool holiday cards, plus a 2014 calendar. You should probably order today if you want it by Christmas, but you might get lucky if you order by the 19th and live in the US, apparently.
Amanda Miller12.15.2013Sunday Morning Funnies: Useless
Sunday Morning Funnies is your weekly list of WoW-related web comics. In comic news this week, Experience Boost posted its 100th comic recently! There's even a comic on the list to commemorate the occasion (partially pictured above). Congratulations! Gratz had a big week too! It marked its one-year anniversary, and Lackinganame even created a video to celebrate. Plus, there were some pretty big plot developments this week! Guilded Age has posted more "Guild-itizations," which are really fun and definitely worth checking out, and also started its Axemas 2013 special. Also on the list this week? Several kitties. Enjoy!
Amanda Miller12.08.2013Sunday Morning Funnies: Clock it
Sunday Morning Funnies is your weekly list of WoW-related web comics. Remember the latest Kickstarter campaign from Guilded Age? The first round of "Guild-itizations" are up on the list this week, which were a backer reward for donations of $125 or more. But we all get to ogle! This week on WoW, eh?, Cadi gets a (temporary) very cool makeover! Be sure to check it out. What else is on the list this week? Here's a taste: (Tasteful) gnome nudity! A death clock Lots of Thanksgiving cheer More interviews (including one with Trig) Have a tip? As always, drop it into the comments section!
Amanda Miller12.01.2013Sunday Morning Funnies: Man and his pond
Sunday Morning Funnies is your weekly list of WoW-related web comics. It's the last Sunday in November, and we have a fairly full list of comics this week for your perusal... but not a lot of news (although I'm pretty sure Trig busted out a cheerleader chant in last week's comments section!). However, there are some pretty interesting plot progressions happening, from death to reclaimed memories. And of course, some BlizzCon-related content. So what's on the list this week? Here are a few highlights: A character death Some more BlizzCon recaps! A dream becomes... a memory? A guide to new character models A bunny fight An interview A big fish baby And, as always, we take tips! Throw a link or piece of relevant news into the comments section below.
Amanda Miller11.24.2013Sunday Morning Funnies: Not so bad
In comic news this week, Contested Territory has released the cover art plus first page of chapter 5! Well worth the wait. Hope you enjoyed your hiatus, and we're glad to have you back, Maiu! Kibble & Bit have put up several pieces about BlizzCon, as have a few other comics on the list, so keep an eye out. Missed us last week? Then you might not have heard! WoW, Eh? is back! (Although there's nothing new this week because of BlizzCon.) We also recently welcomed Surviving Azeroth to the fold, so check it out if you missed it. Got a tip? Know of a new comic, a returning comic, or a comic with a bit of WoW-related content? Drop a link into the comments section!
Amanda Miller11.17.2013Sunday Morning Funnies: Distracting costume
Sunday Morning Funnies is your weekly list of WoW-related web comics. In comic news this week... WoW, eh? is back! Welcome back, Kelly! Glad you're doing better and hope you continue to recover! There's an explanation up (in comic form!) for the hiatus, for anyone who didn't know what was up, plus new comics. Joined us recently, and don't know about WoW, eh? Start at the beginning! (Thanks for the tip, Jason!) Lo'meath & Huilii is also back and updating! The creator is aiming for once a week, so hopefully, it will be a regular on the list again. Good luck, Moeru, and we missed you! Arena-Inside is also back with two updates! Gratz has started the final chapter of Gratz Transition. And, in case you missed us last week, we have a new addition to the list. Check out Surviving Azeroth!
Amanda Miller11.10.2013Sunday Morning Funnies: Beaten down
Sunday Morning Funnies is your weekly list of WoW-related web comics. In comic news this week, Gratz posted a massive update, so be sure to check it out! There are six new comics and next week, the final chapter of Gratz Transition begins. We also have a new comic to add to the list, Surviving Azeroth. Thanks for the tip, bim.shield.spec! As you can see above, Contested Territory has posted some sketches to give us something to ogle at while awaiting the next chapter, which actually is due a bit later than originally announced. You can expect new work on November 11, which will be listed here on the 17th. Can't wait! Hope you all had a fantastic Halloween! Keep an eye out, as there are a few last Halloween specials on the list this week.
Amanda Miller11.03.2013Sunday Morning Funnies: Lobster beard
Sunday Morning Funnies is your weekly list of WoW-related web comics. This week, Trig celebrated his 2-year anniversary making WoW comics! Congratulations, Trig! And thanks for all that you do! (Check out his comics on the list, Trigonometry Comics and Gnomeregan Forever.) So what's on our list today? A Gratz Halloween special You get to meet Miss Fluffykins! A very special PSA A lobster beard (which I twice originally typed as "lobster bears") that we apparently won't be talking about A critique of F2P You will also notice that Contested Territory is absent. If you missed last week, you will have missed the announcement that Chapter 4 concluded (so go read the conclusion!) and the comic is on hiatus until early November to prepare Chapter 5. There will be fun filler available in the meantime, though!
Amanda Miller10.27.2013Sunday Morning Funnies: Pushed it down
Sunday Morning Funnies is your weekly list of WoW-related web comics. In comic news this week, Chapter 4 of Contested Territory has ended! Check out the last pages on the list today. The comic will be on hiatus until early November, while the artist works on Chapter 5. On November 4, you can expect to see the cover art posted, and on November 5, the fifth chapter will begin! Both should get listed here on November 10. In the meantime, there will be fun filler content, which is always worth checking out. If you're a fan of Trigonometry Comics (or Gnomeregan Forever, of course, which you should be reading -- you are reading it, yes?), you may want to note the "In Memoriam" comic on the list this week. Our condolences, Trig. It has not been the easiest year for you, and yet you treat us to comics and comments every week. Thanks for being awesome. What will you find on the list this week, you ask? Here's a preview: A rather thorough lecture A pretty grumpy rhino (with bonus rhino pun!) A failed escape attempt (or two) Gardening Thinking that this week is sounding all together too serious? Then I am thinking that you should start with this plea to Blizzard, check out the chocolate from last week (whether you missed it or not), and then, feeling thoroughly cheered, hit the list. (See? You should be reading Gnomeregan Forever!)
Amanda Miller10.20.2013Sunday Morning Funnies: They won't believe you
Sunday Morning Funnies is your weekly list of WoW-related web comics. This week, Maiu (of Contested Territory) celebrated a birthday. Happy Belated Birthday, Maiu! In other news, The Gnomish Investigation Agency is back! It may still be on an every-other-week schedule, though, so don't be surprised if that's the case! Welcome back, TGIA. Here are just a few things you'll find in the comics on the list this week: A tutorial for your cat, on how to play WoW A botched attempt at making a new friend A not-to-be-missed hyena face Doggie's true form revealed! A really nifty pigeon The ancient and sanctified rules of dwarven combat Hooked? Let everyone know what your favorite panel was this week (I'd have a hard time choosing, but I'm not sure I can point you in the direction of the hyena face too many times). And don't forget to drop your comic news or submissions into the comments section, too.
Amanda Miller10.13.2013Sunday Morning Funnies: Lootable
This week, we have a couple of bonus comics to draw your attention to, but we're otherwise light on comic news. Here's the scoop: Gratz has updated its Extras section with Avengers-themed artwork. Check it out if you're a fan! Dark Legacy Comics posted a special, non-WoW-related comic called Rover. The Trolling of Azeroth is back this week with new content. (The artist was away on business last week.) Although a couple comics are missing from the list again this week, such as The Gnomish Investigation Agency (which hopefully will be back soon!), there are plenty to read! And, as always, we're accepting submissions, too. If you know of a comic that you'd like to see featured here, or an interesting bit of comic news, drop a link (or your news) into the comments section!
Amanda Miller10.06.2013Sunday Morning Funnies: The unicorn
Sunday Morning Funnies is your weekly list of WoW-related web comics. This week, chapter 3 of Fox Rain has begun! The cover and the first page are up already. I also want to do a (belated) Happy Birthday to Lackinganame, of Gratz, who celebrated a birthday this week. I hope it was awesome! Anyone interested in a custom BlizzCon badge? Because you can still order one from Vid of From Draenor With Love until tomorrow, September 30. They're hand painted and really cool. The paintings are separate, and would probably be a fun commission even if you aren't going to BlizzCon. For $40, you get the name tag and badge holder and shipping. Apparently, no warriors, warlocks or priests have commissioned any yet! There are some pretty fantastic samples up on the Manalicious blog. As always, we're taking submissions! Drop a link into the comments section if you know of a comic that you'd like to see featured here.
Amanda Miller09.29.2013Sunday Morning Funnies: Chomps
Sunday Morning Funnies is your weekly list of WoW-related web comics. This week on our list, Guilded Age is finishing up its week of guest art. A couple of comics that have been missing lately are back. And, if you're interested, Mary Varn of NPC posted a "making of" video for the September 16 comic, which is on the list this week. Although it's not WoW-related, it's part of a relevant chain, and seeing how the comics on our list are made is always a good time. If you missed last week, you might not know that From Draenor With Love is taking a new direction with an ongoing storyline. The first pages are up, so check it out! Finally, don't forget to submit a link in the comments section if you know of a WoW-related web comic that you'd like to see featured, either professional or hobby.
Amanda Miller09.22.2013Sunday Morning Funnies: New pets
Sunday Morning Funnies is your weekly list of WoW-related web comics. In comic news this week, NPC Comic is going to be updating three times a week! You can expect new comics Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Gratz put up its 100th digitally penned page. Congratulations, Lackinganame! There are also a few statistics included of just how much work they took (a lot). From Draenor With Love is going to be undergoing some changes, starting this week. After two years, it is going to be more like a graphic novel (but will still be about Vid and Rades), with an ongoing story that spans from week to week. Page one of chapter one is on the list this week, so check it out!
Amanda Miller09.15.2013Enter to win World of Warcraft: Bloodsworn
Patch days full of new content to play are always good, but why don't we make this patch day just a little bit better? We've got not one, but two copies of World of Warcraft: Bloodsworn to give away, and today seems like the best day to do it! This brand-new graphic novel from DC Comics follows the adventures of a motley group of individuals brought together under the banner of the Horde. Written by Doug Wagner and featuring artwork by Jheremy Raapack, the book clocks in at a solid 152 pages jammed full of action. Thanks to Blizzard Entertainment, we've got a couple of these graphic novels to give away. Take a look at our spoiler-free review if you'd like more information on the graphic novel -- while the events in the story take place shortly after Cataclysm, the book is very much worth the read and an even better addition to your bookshelf. Interested? To enter for a chance to win, leave a comment on this post before 11:59 p.m. ET, Tuesday, September 17, 2013. You must be 18 years of age or older and a legal resident of the United States or Canada (excluding Quebec). You can only enter once. Two winners will be chosen at random and we will contact you via whatever method you've used to comment. Official rules here.
Anne Stickney09.10.2013Sunday Morning Funnies: Shadows
Sunday Morning Funnies is your weekly list of WoW-related web comics. In comic news this week, Sara & Kleeyo has moved to a bi-weekly schedule, although we might see the odd extra update now and then! This week, there's a guest comic up by Lackinganame (of Gratz). Lackinganame asked a question in last week's comment section. How does the size of our current comic list compare to the size of the list in the past? Well, it fluctuates. But I think it's pretty comparable! We have a lot of comics right now that are pretty consistent with their updates, which really helps keep the list sizable. But we're always willing to add to it! Start your own and nominate it, or submit the link for a comic you know of. Finally, Dark Legacy Comics this week features some interesting filler, because the creator was out of town. Check it out if you'd like to see something a little different than usual.
