The Death Knight creation bug, which does not allow some players to create Death Knights on realms which they don't have a level 55+ character on, will be fixed by rolling restarts. The restarts will take place tomorrow (Wednesday January 21st) at 5:00 a.m. PST / 8:00 a.m. EST. Each realm should be down for a short period of time, and the restarts should only take around 15 minutes. Oceanic servers will see their restarts take place at 12:00 p.m. PST / 3:00 p.m. EST.We can safely assume that these restarts will correct the issue. However if they don't, look here for more information.Additional Note: There is no new information on the Wintergrasp bug

  • Maintenance for Tuesday November 11th

There will be downtime tomorrow for the U.S. realms between 5:00 a.m. PST and 11:00 a.m. PST. The maintenance will undoubtedly be getting the servers ready for the release of Wrath of the Lich King Wednesday night. We're hopeful that this will be the only downtime this week. When Burning Crusade was launched the servers were only taken down the a couple days prior to its release. We expect the same thing to happen for Wrath. There is also no indication that a patch will be delivered with this downtime. We give it a 50/50 chance of a small patch coming out the night of Wrath's release however, and wouldn't be surprised at all to see some hotfixes go in place over the next several weeks.Of course, this downtime could be setting up another stage of the world event happening tonight.

  • Rolling restarts to usher in new phase of the zombie invasion?

The announcement on the login screen tells us that there'll be rolling restarts for all realms between 5:00 a.m. PDT and 6:00 a.m. PDT. Each realm should be down for no less than 15 minutes. These restarts have become a common thing in the past few days. From previous information given to everyone from Bllizzard, we know that restarts correct server lag and other connectivity issues. And there have been quite a few of these issues since patch 3.0.2. A restart fixing these things is nothing new. But you have to ask yourself now, are these updates secretly pushing new things onto the server? It seems like for the past few days after every "rolling restart" a new phase or two of the scourge invasion has begun. So I'm going to make an educated guess based on what may very well be completely unrelated variables – tomorrow or Monday we'll see phase five of the invasion, complete with something new we haven't yet seen.Prove me wrong, Blizzard... prove me wrong.
