Maybe you forgot someone on your gift-giving list this year -- or maybe you're more interested in potential gifts for yourself. Either way, Blizzard has a potential solution for you -- World of Warcraft is now 50% off in the online store. For $9.99, you'll get classic, Burning Crusade, Wrath of the Lich King, Cataclysm, and Mists of Pandaria all rolled into one, as well as 30 days of free game time in the bargain. This is the digital download edition, meaning no boxes required, and you can either purchase the gift for yourself, or gift it to a friend or loved one and bring them along on your journeys in Azeroth. But if you'd like to grab this deal, you may want to hurry -- the sale ends on January 5, 2015. Head to the Battle.net shop to take advantage of the savings and pick up a copy.

  • Blizzard puts some character services on sale

Blizzard has discounted faction changes and character transfers by 25% for the next week. This means that you'll be able to get the services for the following prices: Character Transfer -- $18.75 Faction Change -- $22.50 This is a great opportunity to transfer characters and get a new faction started before Warlords releases on November 13th. Interestingly, this makes the faction change cheaper than the race change, which is still going for $25. I gather moving from a human to an orc is easier than moving from a human to a night elf, at least for the next week. A discount of similar stature is running on the EU servers. The sale ends at 11:59 p.m. PDT on Wednesday, October 29th, 2014.

  • Get WoW on the cheap during Blizzard's Summer Sale

We're well into the cheerfully vacation-filled days of summer, which means it's the perfect time to stay indoors and play World of Warcraft... right? Well, if the Steam Summer Sale hasn't already attacked your wallet, Blizzard is getting in on the game with reduced-price copies of World of Warcraft and Mists of Pandaria. European gamers can pick up WoW for €7.50 of Mists for €10.00, while North American and Australian gamers can pick up WoW for $10.00 and Mists for $10.00. This isn't the best pricing we've seen -- Blizzard's sale over the past holiday season brought WoW down to a very budget-friendly price of €5/$4.99 -- but the €7.50/$10 pricetag still isn't a bad way to pick up a Recruit a Friend mount. And if you don't have any friends who don't already play, you can always just recruit yourself for the same bonuses. Whee, new mounts!

The entire of World of Warcraft has gone on sale, and for once, the non-ironic use of the word "epic" is entirely justified. For this week only, you can get from naught to Mists of Pandaria for $30, or €30 or £25, depending on your local currency, and this is a pretty amazing deal when you consider the regular prices. As the EU store is still only handling digital goods, those will only be available in the EU as downloads. The US, however, can pick up the boxed versions for the same price, which is pretty remarkable. Don't forget that the Battle Chest has included Wrath of the Lich King for some time, so you're not missing out there. This is a really, really cheap way to get yourself a character leveled with Recruit-a-Friend, and indeed to pick up an Obsidian Nightwing into the mix. Or, of course, get your friends involved in the game!

  • World of Warcraft no longer legally for sale in Australia

One of the major stories that is breaking today around the internet is the fact that in Australia a number of MMOs are no longer legally able to be sold. This is due to their lack of classification, things like M for Mature, PG, 18+, etc...Our sister site Massively covered this extensively last week, and Tateru Nino's article on it has been picked up by the editors over at Slashdot. This is in particular interest to World of Warcraft folks in that WoW doesn't have a classification, and thus cannot be legally sold in Australia.According to Tateru's research, the only two MMOs that are presently available for Australia are Vanguard: Saga of Heroes and EVE Online. If someone was to sell WoW in Australia, they would face a possible penalty of AU$27,220.80 or two years in jail.
