It looks like Fortnite is gearing up for another pop-culture crossover after introducing Marvel's Thanos as a playable character back in May. This time it's Wreck it Ralph's turn to crash the battle royale -- the second Disney-owned character to land on the game for those keeping count. The gentle giant was spotted on a movie screen at the Risky Reels location by Redditor u/MozzzyyTwitch, fuelling rumors of an upcoming in-game special event.

Everyone's favorite game-related Disney movie (no, not Tron) Wreck-It Ralph is set for a sequel that's hitting the scene on March 9, 2018. This news probably doesn't come as a surprise to anyone given the original's massive success back in 2012, but it's definitely a reason to get excited.

Zootopia is a world where humans don't exist. It's a big, crowded metropolis where anthropomorphic animals drive cars, fight crime, eat ice cream and ride trains. Prey and predators of varying shapes and sizes coexist in harmony until their prejudices get in the way.

Movies based on video games are notoriously awful, but every now and then a quality film manages to slip through the cracks. Disney gave us the lovable Wreck-It Ralph in the fall of 2012, and now, that film's composer tells Collider that a sequel is in development. Henry Jackman, who has also composed the music for X-Men: First Class and Captain America: The Winter Soldier, told Collider that he had heard of a Wreck-It Ralph sequel, but was quiet on details. "I can't tell you more, not because I'm being coy, but I believe that it is officially on the cards. I don't know any more other than a story is indeed being written." While not a confirmed or official storyline, Wreck-It Ralph director Rich Moore told Hypable in February 2013 that he and the voice of Ralph, John C. Reilly, pondered a possible plot involving alternate versions of the characters from the first film. "Are there other Ralphs that are more contemporary?" Moore pondered. "Is there another version of the game that was made for mobile? Are there those kind of Super Smash Bros types games where all the characters are gathered in a fighting game? What would that be like for Ralph to come face to face with those different iterations of himself?" Mayhaps Ralph could enlist the help of Sonic? He's got some experience dealing with past and present selves meeting up. [Image: Disney]

Disney Interactive offered five new toy boxes for Disney Infinity owners to play with this week. Two of the toy boxes are inspired by the Toy Story films: the Toy Story Claw and Toy Story Racer stages. Toy Story Claw has players searching for ten lost aliens in a claw machine, whereas Toy Story Racer takes place in a space-themed racetrack. The other new Disney Interactive-created toy boxes introduced this week are Big Thunder, inspired by the Big Thunder Mountain attraction at Disneyland, as well as Sky Gauntlet 2 and The Sky Trials. Disney Infinity recently received new characters, including Wreck-It Ralph and Tangled's Rapunzel.

Disney Infinity aims to live up to its name with the addition of three movie franchises to the platformer/adventure/sandbox/whatever-it-is game. Wreck-It Ralph and Tangled characters Ralph, Vanellope and Rapunzel have already found their way into stores, while Anna and Elsa from Frozen have yet to arrive. Ralph is available exclusively at Best Buy until December 31, while Vanellope is exclusive to Target until the same date. Walmart, meanwhile, gets to braid and play with Rapunzel's ludicrously long hair until December 31 as well. Anna and Elsa will be released nationwide on November 26, a day before the movie they star in. So if you already know you're going to love the movie and its characters - or you're a time traveler and have already seen the movie - these toys are for you. And everyone else who can find them. Along with the characters, Disney Interactive will also be releasing 20 new Power Discs. These discs grant various in-game bonuses, from items and aesthetic changes to boosts and abilities. You can see the full list of discs and their effects after the jump:

We begin this week for a vital PSA aimed at the fan of ABC's Zero Hour -- that show has been cancelled after airing just three episodes. In other news, fresh iterations of SimCity and Tomb Raider arrive this week for some old-but-new-again gaming. Look below for the highlights this week, followed after the break by our weekly listing of what to look out for in TV, Blu-ray and videogames. Wreck-It Ralph In addition to Academy Award winning animated short Paperman, Wreck-It Ralph promises enough classic videogame references to alight nostalgia in pretty much anyone. Ben-o-vision certified, this story of an 8-bit villain who wants to be a hero instead seems a good fit for kids and adults alike. ($27.99 on Amazon) King of the Nerds TBS' reality competition wraps up this week with one contestant ready to be named King of the Nerds. We haven't been keeping up with the series around these parts but reviews have been shockingly positive and it's already been renewed for a second season. (March 14th, TBS, 10PM) Saturday Night Live Sure some (ok, most) would agree the show has fallen off a bit, but if there's one thing you can count on to revitalize SNL, it's an episode featuring Justin Timberlake. Hopefully we can count on yet another Lonely Island collabo alongside followups to classic skits like Come On Down to Liquorville, but who knows. (March 16th, NBC, 11:29PM)

This spoilerific video crams Disney's Wreck-It Ralph into a live-action minute. Created by sketch comedy group Megasteakman for Virgin Radio's Fake Film Festival 2013, the short shows what Disney's games-stuffed movie could've looked like if it hadn't been animated. Not only is it an impressive tribute to the film, but it's full of little Easter eggs too. Look out for cameos from Meowth, Shy Guy, Heihachi, and even Homestar Runner's Trogdor.

Imagine Hotline Miami protagonist "Jacket" decided he wanted to follow in Wreck-It Ralph's footsteps and leave his game; instead of going on an adventure of self-discovery like Ralph, "Jacket" stuck to his homicidal ways and killed everything he came across. This is the idea behind "Wreck it Richard," the fan-made mash-up above. Now, we can't say that we've ever wanted to see Pac-Man pounded to death before – why couldn't it have been Blinky? – but don't let that early brutality discourage you from finishing this fine Hotline Miami and classic gaming mash-up in its entirety ... unless you abhor brutality in all forms, in which case hey don't watch this video.

Following the lead of other studios like Fox with its Digital HD push, Disney has announced its first movie that customers will be able to buy on download and streaming services weeks before the disc is released. Wreck-It Ralph is a worldwide hit, bringing in $277 million and counting at the box office, but the first time you'll be able to snag it (legally) for home viewing in the US is February 12th in HD and 3D on supported services. The four disc Blu-ray 3D combo set is priced at $39.99 and will ship nearly a month later on March 5th, along with the 2-disc Blu-ray ($31.99), DVD and standard def video on-demand versions. Disney hasn't tipped its hat about any digital efforts itself to replace the Online streaming site it shut down in November, but clearly it's preparing for a multi-format future -- we'll see if we hear any more interesting details during CES in the coming week.

Tie-in games aren't typically wells of expectation, but it's a little different when the thing tied into is an homage to gaming. So as much as we're expecting big things from the movie, we're also hopeful for Wreck-It Ralph's tie-in games, including the iOS one released today.Wreck-it Ralph on iOS is actually a mini-game collection, so there's a good start. The first mini-game is the 8-bit styled 'Fix-It Felix Jr,' in which you hop across an apartment block trying to repair windows, avoiding bricks chucked at you by the Kong-like Ralph. The second, 'Sweet Climber,' plays like a candy-sprinkled version of Doodle Jump. The final mini-game is 'Hero's Duty,' which based on the corresponding film trailer ought to be like Mass Effect or Halo. In fact it's a top-down twin-stick shooter, although you're still fending off loads of aliens.Wreck-It Ralph will get future mini-game updates, including a racer called 'Turbo Time.' In the meantime, you can buy it with the 3 mini-games currently available for 99 cents. If you'd prefer to try before you buy, Fix-It Felix Jr. is also available as a free standalone.%Gallery-170081%

  • Disney's Wreck-It Ralph collection, Borderlands Legends out this week on iOS

Two big titles are set to hit the App Store this evening, along with the rest of the week's other big releases. Disney's Wreck-It Ralph movie is due in theaters on Nov. 2, and I can promise you, after getting to see it at an advance screening, it's really good. Pixar's John Lasseter is now in charge of all of Disney's animation, and his brilliant influence shows in the film. To celebrate the release, Disney is putting out a set of minigames based on the fictional ones shown in the film. The company previously released Fix-It Felix, Jr. as an iOS title, with the villain of that game being the hero of the film. This new set includes an endless jumping title based on the sugary-sweet racing game Sugar Rush, as well as a dual-stick shooter based on the film's Hero's Duty. All three games are great, and especially when you get to see the film, you'll enjoy exploring the various universes in a different way. The Wreck-It Ralph set is 99 cents. And Borderlands Legends has arrived already this week -- this is the Borderlands spinoff that was revealed just a little while ago. Unfortunately, it's unlike the actual console game, trading a deep first-person shooter for a relatively slow real-time strategy game. If you're a Borderlands fanatic, you might be interested to see it, because it reuses the game's assets in a completely different way. There's also some fun with the game's drag-to-attack strategy mode. But in general, it's pretty much a misfire, dodging most of Borderlands' strengths (including that great and addictive gunfighting action) in favor of a completely different genre. Borderlands Legends is available for $4.99 on iPhone or $6.99 on iPad.

No, Ezio Auditore da Firenze and Chris Redfield won't be trading in their various killing implements for pointy red shoes, nor will they be playing a grotesque two-headed version of Sega's iconic mascot, but the man who voices both those characters will be.Okay, maybe not the grotesque two-headed monster thing, but Roger Craig Smith (who voices both Ezio and Chris) will be playing the role of Sonic the Hedgehog in Disney's forthcoming reference vehicle Wreck-it Ralph. As it happens, Smith has become the blue blur in days past, having voiced the character in Mario & Sonic at the London Olympic Games, Sonic Generations and Sonic Free Riders. Let's just hope that any dialogue they give him will be better than what we're used to.

Wreck-It Ralph, an animated film coming November 2 from Disney, features classic characters sure to induce nostalgia in bomb-like proportions for its 20-55 demographic -- which is why it's strange that the game based on the movie based on video games will come only to Nintendo's Wii, 3DS and DS.With the film, Disney is focused on introducing a younger audience to arcade-style side-scrollers, and it seems Activision is keeping that trend with a launch on the market's most "family-friendly" set of platforms."Wreck-It Ralph, as a brand entity, is perfectly suited for video game stardom," Activision Executive Vice President David Oxford says. "With the fantastic characters and creative atmosphere envisioned by Walt Disney Animation Studios, we know fans are going to love seeing their newfound favorite characters embark on an all-new side-scrolling adventure."The game will have players switch between Ralph and Fix-It Felix to defeat the Cy-Bugs, with a story campaign and two-player co-op for the Wii.

There's a tie-in game for Disney's video game-inspired flick, Wreck-It Ralph. We expected as much, but we didn't expect it to be so good. It's called Fix-it Felix Jr., wherein you play as the titular Felix Jr., neighborhood window repair man and pie stealer. Felix just can't leave a tasty pie cooling on a sill alone, you see.Felix scales the building, repairing the windows that Ralph destroys. People in the apartment high-rise leave pies to cool and Felix grabs them as he ascends the massive tower for extra points, until he eventually gets hit in the head with a brick and you lose the game. Thankfully that last part looks less horrific than it sounds.

MCV reports that during Disney's D23 fan expo, Disney announced the next film under its Disney Animation studio: Wreck-It Ralph, about a destructive 8-bit game character looking for a game in which he can be a hero -- like his in-game rival, Fix-It Felix. The film, due in November next year, features cameos from licensed game characters, including a Pac-Man ghost, who is part of Ralph's video game character support group. FirstShowing posted images of the show floor display, including a themed arcade machine. It also reports that John C. Reilly will voice Ralph, with 30 Rock's Jack McBrayer as Fix-It Felix. We look forward to the inevitable tie-in games, based on the movie based on video games.
