RoboBlitz T-shirt contest: Day 4 [update 1]
And the mighty RoboBlitz T-shirt contest keeps moving across the land, distributing T-shirts to those in need. Before we announce today's contest, we must pick a name from the proverbial hat. The winner of yesterday's RoboBlitz shirt is (fanfare) Beef! Beef's dream robot is named Ephraim, which is apparently Beef's real name as well. It seems that Ephraim's primary function is to be a clone of Ephraim. Some of you came up with other really good ideas, too. Read 'em all right here.Now, what to do for today's contest ... we should really start coming up with these beforehand. Let's see ... okay, we have an idea. RoboBlitz has some really interesting weapons (don't believe us? Watch this). To enter today's contest, leave a comment describing an interesting, fictional weapon. You know, something that would be fun in a video game. The winner -- randomly chosen -- will receive a women's XL RoboBlitz T-shirt. We'll get the creative juices flowing by coming up with a weapon first. We would create the Poodle Launcher, which would launch specially trained ballistic poodles (properly shaven for aerodynamics, of course). GOW theme and picture pack winners
The results are in and we have 5 lucky winners in our Gears of War theme and picture pack contest. Over a hundred people responded, telling us what 360 inspired costume they would wear for Halloween. In no particular order, the completely random winners are:1. SirPasta117, who will be wearing "A big viva pinata costume. You know that one with the afro and four legs," We're pretty sure you're referring to a fudgehog.2. Dr Funbags, who will be dressing as Xbox Live Marketplace: "I'm gonna wear an overcoat lined with green and orange "blades" and offer my friends candy and then charge them for every little piece that they take." That's just cold man, cold.3. Willson, who will be going as the Red Ring of Death. That one looks like it's going to be popular this year.4. Andy, who will be dressed as "a PS3 with an axe through it, signaling the end of the reign of the PS3 and the beginning of that of of the X360!" Indeed, Andy, indeed. Andy was also excited for today's giveaway of UMK3. We hope that's not the only game you like, Andy (hint, hint). 5. minuts has all his "black spandex ironed and ready" so he can portray the bald headed spy from Splinter Cell: Double Agent. X360F Contest: GOW themes & picture packs [update 1]
It's getting perilously close to Halloween (CliffyB is going as a bunny. A chainsaw happy, curb stomping bunny). So close that we think it's time for another contest! The prize: a free Gears of War theme and picture pack for your Xbox 360. You may remember that we got a few extras at our local GameStop during the "After Dark" event last Saturday. We couldn't give them away before because they didn't work. Well, now they do. Huzzah!Since the prize isn't as grand as, say, a copy of Lumines Live!, we're making this contest a little easier. X360F Contest: Win Lumines Live! [update 1]
Last night, the overlords at Joystiq bestowed upon us a free redemption code for the long awaited Lumines Live. We were faced with a serious moral dilemma. Do we keep the code for ourselves so that we can "review" the game, or do we give it away in a fantabulous contest. In the end, our "good" side won out, and we've decided to give it away!
